    Nice tip video! I would add that suppressed soldiers will have only 50% turn units the next turn. Flash bangs can affect multiple elevations in that spot, I've suppressed my own troops that were downstairs of it. Hangars are permanent additions to the base, don't be thinking of adding one more that you'll remove later because you can't cancel or remove them. Training rooms passively build all stats except strength, keep that in mind when recruiting. Best to capture and interrogate each species early as possible for training bonus, smoke grenades can help a lot with that. The stun effect of being in or walking through smoke is considerable, also enemies must be inflicted with more stun points than their health for them to fall unconscious.

    Thanks for the great video covering a lot of aspects of the game.
    One thing to note, the "hit bonus" applies as a bonus per tile closer than the listed weapon range as well. The reason I bring this up is because of how shotguns work, they have a fairly low range of 12 or something, but with a really large bonus per tile the target is closer to the firing soldier. I am not well versed enough to know if the bonus and the long-range penalty are the same % value per tile, but is important to recognize the advantage of being closer than the listed range.

    Thanks for the guide. I started crpgs with the 2010 Xcom remake and the genre is now one of my favorites. That being said, I have no experience with the OG Xcom or older crpgs. After wacthing guides on the game and playing for about 5 hours, is there any way to actually see the enemy consistently before they see you? the only instance I feel like I have the drop on the aliens is if they happen to have they're backs to me when they are revealed ( and that is not much of an advantage). It feels like almost no matter what I do, every time I engage the aliens I am at a disadvantage and I am the one being ambushed. It seems like injuries and deaths of soldiers are meant to be a consistent feature in the game, even when it seems I have a proper setup and positioning. It also seems like you basically need to flashbang everything.

    Is there a point for researching plasma and Accelerated weapons? they are not better than laser weapons and inferior to Gauss weapons

      In the version that I played, there were only 3 tiers of weapons. Generally more damage is good, because of how damage reduction works.

    Man I messed up I have to start over again, would you say is this game harder than poenix point?

      @SykenPlays  Рік тому +2

      That is a great question. I would say it was NOT more difficult than PP for the following reasons:
      - Aliens in this game are actually quite tame if you figure out how to beat them
      - Almost all alien abilities are just variants of „I shoot them“
      - Aliens are particularly bad with their ranged abilities, specifically longer range
      - If you play in a way that you have shields in the frontline and have enough distance to the enemy, they will typically come in small groups and will easily be shot down by your combined squat team
      - The one aspect that you need to control more in this game than in other titles is to make sure that aliens do not flank you. If you have a good line of vision into multiple directions to prevent that from happening, you should be fine.
