Jerry Reed was an amazing , underrated guitarist and actor. He was one of those guitarist like Roy Clark, that was humble to a fault about their gifts. Old guys like me will remember the good ones....
I was born in 87 but I grew up loving Jerry and learning to pick a guitar just because he was and is an idol of mine and American icon. RIP Georgia Wild Man
Damn. They can all sock it to him - Elvis, Cash, Dylan, all of them. They got nothin against that singing, playing and overall down-home feel. Tell em guitar!
Great footage of one of my favourite guitar pickers. I have most of his albums. Wondered if there were any photos when he recorded with Elvis in '67 and '68.
Thank you so much!! I love all the old Jerry Reed videos, there's never enough of them so it feels like Christmas when a new one crops up that I haven't seen! 😁
Hey Phil- was just scrolling through and listening to and viewing some of Jerry Reed’s best on your channel. I think you had several videos posted years ago that had Jerry and The Thompson Station Congregation with Johnny Gimble guesting on fiddle. I think they did 3 songs. One was a killer version of Eastbound and Down to close the show. Any chance you could post them again?
Could never understand why Elvis wanted to record Guitarman. He couldn’t play a guitar anywhere close to Jerry Reed’s talent and the song was obviously written for the singer to play the guitar solos. Jerry told them it wouldn’t work to hire a straight lead guitarist because he’d tuned his guitar about five different ways to get the sound he got. Elvis found out Jerry wasn’t lying!🤣🤣
One of the all time greats.I miss Jerry.
His fingers do the talking - the brilliant Jerry Reed RIP🥰
Jerry Reed was a one of a kind and an American Original. Rest In Peace GuitarMan.

This is bad ass rocking out on a classical guitar.
Holy shit..... what do you do with a gift of that magnitude? I suppose one option is - become Jerry Reed.

What a súper talent + million $$$$ Sony + great PICKING only JR can do....in front of Elvis .... surprised as hell....
Phil have any idea what guitar jerry is using as its pre-baldwin era i think it may be a Gibson C1-E as he used these in the 60s
He’s using a classical with a Baldwin piano pickup. Before the Prismatone equipped Baldwin classics.
Thanks, Phil! Any idea what that is attached to his guitar?
It’s a Baldwin Piano Vibration mounted pickup on the lower bout
muzikman74 I’m curious how that pickup worked (I saw no cord on Jerry’s guitar)?
Yall check out ALEX MILLER , a Kentucky kid.
Not bad for a handler of the presidential models over the years....
Tell us more. Was his daughter involved?
Gadgets on top of guitar!????????
Paolo Spadaro It’s a Baldwin Piano vibration pickup on the lower bout
muzikman74
grazie, never seen such a thing !!!
muzikman74 I wonder if it was running through a Baldwin Amplifier as well.
