Mas nami pa ang iloilo sang una kaysa Karon.. Nami nami gid how is wish we can turn back the time or time machine para ma experience ang old city. Daw ang sa movies mo lang makita nga set up. Pati mga dress code is amazing. 😍 Very formal and respectful. Sayang ang Janiuay church waay na restore to its original design. Kag kabay pa ang cemetery ma restore. Iloilo National High School still the same mezzanine floor used to be our PE room below. Very touching clips. Thanks to the owner.
I visited Iloilo city back in April 1988 for a jamboree in Dao, Capiz of the same month and year. I remembered that we visited the church and museum near the boys scout headquarters of Iloilo. If am not mistaken going to Rojas city from Iloilo city the railroad track is on the left side of the road. Unfortunately I don’t remember the mansions in the area. Though, I remember a few artifacts in the museum. A tobacco pipe of general MacArthur, canon barrel of the warships and old bolo knife. Am only 12 years old at the time imagine hehhheee 😁 wow and am 46 now ouch time really fly fast 🙏🏻
hi Sir good day... im wondering about sa St. MArys Hospital dira sa City tubang HIjas School.... tpos daw linya na ka Rutchelmar Drug Store. hope ma bal an ta ang iya history... Thank you Sir. God bless.
I was born in St. Mary's Hospital including all my other siblings. Sadly once Dr. Coquin died (he was my grandparent's close friend), the hospital didn't do well, and now does not exist.
Sa pagka tanda ko ang iloilo ang paborito nga kadtuan sang reyna ka spain nga c maria christina? Amo na nga gin tawag ang iloilo nga "the queen city" o "the queen city of the south"? Correct me if im wrong😊
@John Mars Bermil Yes sir! Iloilo is called "The Queen City of the South" before because of its political ties, economic growth, and religious affiliation during the Spanish regime. Maria Christina, the queen of spain honored Iloilo as "La Muy Leal Y Noble Ciudad de Iloilo" or The Most Loyal and Noble City.😊

Wow! One day I will visit this place. It is so awesome to see this place back in time! I imagine my mother living in this province in 1924 when she was a beautiful 8 years old. My great grandparents are a couple Morales-Abacan who lived in this province in the 1800s and 1900s. My grandparents Lucio Camilo and Cristeta Abacan- Camilo lived here as well. Unfortunately they died when my mother and her twin sister were babies. I would like to visit their graves and so with my great grandparents who never saw us. What a beautiful place! I might retire here. Who knows! Thanks for sharing!

Negros Occidental will not be in line of the most richest province if not for the prominent Ilongo families who migrate to Negros to cultivate the plain soil land to plant sugar which help the economy of the province here, historically Iloilo has a deep and cultural connection upon Negrense ruling elite which their roots trace back from Iloilo even we are separate from seas our hearts also as Hiligaynon speaking Negros must give our utmost respect to the place of the one and original Queen City of the South Iloilo
Molo Church and Convent still stands up to this time 2020 And for the most part, the buildings are well preseved and standing resilient even after so many years already. Sometimes I see pictures in this video that still loooks the same as it was beforw. It's such an amazing video thanks for taking time to do this.

Man, ILOILO was one of the most beautiful cities of Filipinas. But nowadays you go around the city and see a lot of ancient houses abandoned, runined or simply dismanteled (for example the mansions of Lacsin St are today dismantle and instead you can find a Caltex gasoline, a Jollybee, etc). Same as Fuerte de San Pedro: you go there and is now disappeared and the substitute construction is a messy kinda port storage grey and stinky. Same as Casino Español, today totally ruined but in the past, as you can see in the pics was a marvelous bulding. What the heck happened in the city? Why Iloilo didnt take care of his Heritage?
I thought rebuilding Casino Español was being planned? Fort San Pedro was destroyed by US Navy planes during the Liberation in 1945, because it was garrisoned by the Japanese and blocked the entrance of the port and river. Nobody cared or felt it was important enough to rebuild that centuries old fort. Its importance was no longer necessary.
S/S Don Esteban De La Rama Line was the ship may Father worked as a Cook before the 2nd World War happened. This Ship was built in Kiel Germany Europe and my Father was one among the grouped of Filipinos who came to Kiel Germany to bring and sailed the ship from the shipyard to the Philippines.
Just curious if my great grandfather was from iloilo... Came to borneo early 1900 because of the American war and never returned to his homeland.... His surname is Fuentes... Glad if i could get some info about his family back there....

Because the Hiligaynon speakers of Negros Occidental were migrants from Panay. The original Negrenses are the Karolanos.
Tani buhion nila ang Panay railway. Godbless Queen City of the South.
