The thing that makes this channel strip somehow unique is that bandwidth/Q changes dynamicly with the amount of boost or cut - like you mentioned around 5:00. So I think it is a good choice for some different "flavour". ;-)
@@MrMusic-nd5to Haha yes, and you're a moron. Bruce Swedien mixed 'Thriller' on an analog Harrison console 40 years ago, that has ZERO to do with the plugins Harrison/SSL are releasing now.

I got Harrison's daw cause I m a tool, I guess they took it straight from it? It seems like SSL s been taking it apart and trying to sell bits by bits, like an old motorcycle 😅
ahhh….but we do reviews not demos. Think of a film review without clips of the film…same thing. Adding compressed audio demos with no point of reference is just misleading. Thanks so much for your videos guys. I don't always agree but it's refreshing with an unbiased channel. So tired of all the paid channels giving their "honest" opinion.. 😊
I'm guessing that SSL got Harrison Software Co. going cheap after they were caught out nulling against Reaper's native plugins. I'm sure SSL won't have made that mistake ... 🙄
@@KozmykJ the nullable was just the Harrison EQ section - the compressor section was all right. But I agree, Harrison’s response to Dan Worrall’s review was a PR disaster. All that crap about modelling every analogue component. Put me right off Harrison plug-ins forever.
Seems the second string vintage companies like Harrison are getting their time. Trident too is having a lot of market share in the discussion. Lots of great sounds to be had from some great companies that aren’t just API, Neve, or SSL
Thanks for the quick review. I don't kno if you saw Dan Worrell's take on the previous version if this plugin, but it was somewhat harsh. I am curious if this version is much better or justca face-lift
@@StudioLife101 Even if this one is better, the way they reacted to Dan Worrell's criticism has really put me off buying any of their plugins, especially the way they claimed they had meticulously modelled every physical component, which was clearly just absolute bullsh*t. @@sburton84 That's a long story....short version is- this is different and better. But...for future reference...there is really no such thing as 'modelling'....it's a generic term...some companies try to make dsp copies of each component and do things that way...(Never works that easily...many months of testing and tweaking to get something usable.) Others do digital copies of curves and compression etc and then add saturation that gives a very similar harmonic sound to the original...all are a bit hit and miss and none are identical. Some however are very close and sometimes subjectively better. 👍
As tempting the GUI may look... I'm on the track leading away from such plugins because it doesn't give you anything you couldn't achieve with your normal workhorse plugins. It looks nice though
I thought about buying it but I have Harrison Mixbus 😂. As of late, I’ve been fundamentally testing taking my mix in pro tools and summing my bus channels in Luna and Harrison Mixbus . So far, I’d say it does add some mojo from both, which is why I thought about the plugin so I wouldn’t have to export, but in my case I’d just be wasting more money. Harrison stuff is good though but I believe it caters more to rock.
What do you think about PA's Focusrite CS? Btw, one master per month thingie - is it ok if I support you on Patreon (I already do here) for 10 months and get my ten track project then mastered for free?
I use Focusrite CS a lot...love it on vocals. In 10 months you'll have 10 free tracks from your top tier membership here anyway..👍 The Patreon covers other costs in the making of the videos I'm afraid...

I agree. Always remember to never buy a plugin alliance plugin for full price...that's not the real price...the discount price is. Would much prefer them to be a sensible price all the time. 👍

Yeah, Plugin Alliance are bad enough with their $299.99 plugins for $29.99, but Harrison's MPC Channel Strip takes it to a whole extra level of piss-taking.

I can verify that it doesn't null anymore. The EQ might by _itself_, but the "Drive" section/saturation kinda puts paid to that.
