I'm glad you covered Ultraman, it's one of the most overlooked kaiju franchises ever. I love the original series the best but yeah the showa era is not for everyone, but my favourite era is the Ultra Galaxy era.
Nexus is not the first time death is permanent It was a thing since Return of Ultraman/Ultraman Jack And you should know at least the infamous ultraman leo episode 40 Nexus ain't got nothing compared to that
The main reason new gen reused alot of monsters is cause their budget was low at the time due to fighting legal battles all the way till 2020. Now with the recent shows they’re creating more original monsters now that they have more money again.

I also went on a experience with this franchise too. And I do think it's as equally fantastic as Godzilla and Gamera in its own way. As I hear you talking about the different series, layout, and other stuff, I do agree on your opinions in it. Like the tone for some of the newer Ultraman stuff and the whole toy gimmick thing here. Not going to lie I felt even today that growing up I was one of the biggest G fans but never really got into Ultraman oddly. However I did just recently watch Shin Ultraman and it’s got me interested into watching the whole lot of them.
I agree Shin Ultraman wasn't great. But when Ultraman slowly turning green kinda makes sense. Since he is losing his light. A color timer would make him feel like a robot
I feel like you should give Ultraman Ginga S another chance. The main director for that show was also the main director behind the first Zero movie, Ultraman Geed, Ultraman Trigger and all of the Ultra Galaxy Fights all of which you seemed to like the most in the new generation era. You might have felt soured by Ultraman Ginga but I assure you Ginga S is an entirely different vibe from it's original series.

Ultraman Trigger doesn't take place in the same universe as Tiga. It took place in another universe thats similar to Tiga
