What was it like attending Woodbridge High School in Irvine? I asked my friend Manish Jhurani who attended WHS with me to revisit the school and share some memories. I remember a Tom Cruise impersonator came to serenade someone in the quad as the “Top Gun” character. Ms Cross also organized all of the pep rallies iirc. Well done video!

Class of 2006 here. I think the Warrior went away after some people complained that it was appropriation (or something like that). As someone who has fond memories of the warrior, I miss it, but on the other hand, I kinda get it... times do change.
As for all that new stuff (maybe you guys said this) that was thanks to measure E (and maybe a few donations/grants). It's really changed. Though the new performing arts building looks super nice and the pool came after I graduated! So, it's super, super recent.

Class of ‘01, they got rid of the warrior mascot when I went there. I believe someone with Indian Ancestry had moved into Irvine, saw the painting and complained.

I guess I'm the gullible guy who did. I believe his name was John "something". He seemed like a nice and honest guy, so back then, I bought it. Looking back, who knows. I think the statute of limitations has run out so if he's out there somewhere maybe he'll see this and give us the real scoop if it happens to be different than what he told us :-)
