Hey Julia! The road wasn't too bad and wouldn't be a huge problem for most vehicles if it were dry with no snow. It's just that it was dumping snow at the time, and there were a few corners and declines that could pose an issue for front wheel drive vehicles. There were ride services available from town and that's what we used.
Hi we are a family of 5 adults a 7 year old boy and a 22 month old toddler do you think this place would be suitable for her or would u recommend glenwood springs is our first time to Colorado and we wouldn’t want to miss this opportunity we’re planning to go mid February
Thanks so much for the shout out. It was great meeting you and we look forward to following along on your adventures!

how was the drive to the springs? would it be doable with a 4-wheel drive or do you recommend the pick up service?

Sure I don't see why not. Be sure to call Strawberry Springs ahead of time for any prep or travel details.
Only go during the day. Children are not allowed after dark, as clothing becomes optional after sundown.
Do you have to hike here?
No you can drive up but you need 4 wheel drive
