How do you judge art anyway its a good version and yeah its Xiu Xiu covering Joy Division that's a bunch a levels of weird unto itself, in a great way. And again Xiu Xiu is experimental rock band so a different sounding version is going to come out it won't be Ian up there singing. Man would that be cool!
I know they've mostly died off by now, judging by the changes in comment eras, but I can only imagine the whiners' reactions to Waltz's cover of Ceremony
Well, I guess it just comes down to what you like. I'm not too into the indie synth pop stuff , which is why I like Radiohead's version, it's very direct and very raw.
honestly though, a horrible cover, we all love Joy Division and New Order (and Xiu Xiu) but can't we dislike a mediocre cover? Not everything in ode to Ian Curtis should be looked upon as gold
I was at this show, and I have to say that, even years later, this was one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen. It just floored me.
amazing performance, ty for capturing
Excellent! That synth line just sounds so goddamn sad.
i was there, and it was cold that night...
joy division were amazing but i think this takes it to a whole new level. fucking incredible. i hope xiu xiu come to australia

Agreed! Can't wait to see them play Glasgow in May. Yessir.

also when they hear the recorded version of this cover lol. this live version is relatively polite
teeheehee!
what's that picture in his guitar?
anne frank i'm pretty sure
that's anne frank on his guitar.
A statement of the obvious: how can you judge the quality of a JD cover, of which you didn't see live? Still chewing?
Well, I guess it just comes down to what you like. I'm not too into the indie synth pop stuff , which is why I like Radiohead's version, it's very direct and very raw.
"i'm not too into the indie synth pop stuff" and then recommends an indie pop band ???
not to mention joy division is fundamental indie synth stuff so...??
i guess their cover isnt tho@@InstazomeASMR
erm.... it sounds nowt like Ian Curtis.
Get your ears cleaned out. :-)
they're shouting out... why?!?!?! really..........shiiiiit version!
dont listen to joy division
The murdered it. And no, not in a good way.
go listen to radiohead
What. The. Fuck.
No. I'm sorry. Just no. I gave it a chance, but this really blows.
Damn, that really sucks. Thanks for giving it a chance. I'll tell Jamie, he'll be devastated
honestly though, a horrible cover, we all love Joy Division and New Order (and Xiu Xiu) but can't we dislike a mediocre cover? Not everything in ode to Ian Curtis should be looked upon as gold
Ok coomer
this isn't very good. if you want to see a real ceremony cover, check out radiohead's.
xiu xiu did it better than rodeohead did
I think this is a horrible cover, I absolutely hate the vocal.
