Industry has such well thought out characters and situations. While you have to suspend belief at times, it is one of the best shows on television. I'd advise parents to have their college age seniors watch the show. A great education on real life.
Geez they straight served Eric & crew. Daria was sacked so Harper could stay and Eric could return(to the best of my knowledge)and man, look how THAT turned out.
Is Daria a Senior VP? She seems to have more authority than the other line VPs like Kenny or Clement. She was part of the grad hiring committee with the Director and other senior management so I was wondering her position. It seems odd a mid level line manager would be in on that meeting.
@@ryanmacharika3946 She was a VP sitting in on the grad hiring committee when Eric was still there. Eric's position of Managing Director is a huge deal to which all the underlings aspire, but it was never communicated that Daria became an MD. I don't think she was ever promoted to MD there, but made MD at her new employer.
The only thing I never really believed about the Daria character is she's like a VP in Investment Banking and the actress playing her (Freya Mavor) was like 24-27 when filming the show. I work in finance, generally speaking you do not see VP's in crucial front office positions of her age. They more start at 30 years old if not older, not 24. Having an attractive actress playing this role, fine, I get it, Hollywood, eyeballs but just having a very young actor playing the role I don't get.
I am not much in Investment banking culture, but I did hear that the show's creators have a team to help them apply the dynamics of finance so it could be just UK banking, but IDK. Also this was filmed in the UK, so I think the film culture is a little different from Hollywood
Daria's character is actually very realistic and well presented and the actress carried the role very well. I dont know which bank you went to but in bulge bracket banks there are plenty who made VP before 30 and surprise surprise many are indeed good looking males/females.
@@emperor68188 She's MD during Season 2 which is a little less realistic. Even she was a high performer, they would've just hired her at a higher salary and her roles at Pierpoint like on committee probably would've been for the older VPs. She still would've been a fresh VP at her age but they made her more important given the size of the imaginary bank.

@@ThatBrothaBill Gotcha. There was internal politics going on with Daria & Sarah (indian lady) against Eric at pierpoint. It was probably Sarah trying to get rid of Eric and have him replaced with Daria or someone else to further their own position in the company. They just used Harper to get at Eric.
I love how Daria got her revenge. And rightfully so.
she was a cu%%.
Daria giving Robert a verbal tear down was simply savage 😭
It was definitely Savage

Daria and Robert are a beautiful couple 😊
Tbh, I think they r the same except Daria was the lucky wan.. she has no value either.

Yeah, she was a vp in the show
Some of the org chart things about this show don't make a lot of sense.
No, she is a desk manager. She is below Eric. Somehow
she took Eric's position after he left

IB VPs are often mid to late 20s. It's not a big title - VP in investment banking is basically a manager.

MD in S2 is very unrealistic at that age. VP is late 20s
Ive only just finished season 2 and we need more DARIA!!!
I wish
she does come back in season 3 but it’s another guest appearance
Does Harper just spend most of the show being a f'n mute and looking spaced out?? 🙄
She really doesn’t lol, it’s pretty much only scenes with Daria that she’s constantly holding her tongue
She is pretty expressive in the show, but with Daria, she is quite mute
Very interesting detail, never noticed it before.
@mr.fandango6223 I LOVE the scene in the ladies room where Daria confronts Harper on her lack of communication. She has a point.
