Rest in peace, John Upchurch (Rafe Hollister). He passed away on January 8, 1994. For those who don't know, this episode of "Nashville Now" first aired September 18th, 1991 on TNN.
I enjoyed these reunion videos a lot, and since Ralph Emery wasn't the "star", he didn't annoy me!!! I still watch Andy Griffith on TVLand daily, and enjoy them over and over. TV was clean then, and great to watch.
I doubt you’ll get this and I assume it’s from the 80’s, but thank you so very much for posting this. I didn’t get into the show until I was an adult but LOVE it. A few years ago, I’d always say I want to party with Otis. ✨✌🏼
I have mixed feelings about having seen this, oh nothing negative at all. My feelings are along the lines of sadness, not depression, but sadness about about what television has become now-a-days! Nothing to the tune of clean, family-rated and acceptable viewing for people of my generation, I'm 64-years old, and viewing this on 10/3/2019, and I have to be very picky about what I watch because there's so much inappropriate content in today's TV-Shows, as well as movies. In short, I just miss the good-old television of yester-year. And then there's the sadness related to the number of Andy Griffith cast members that have gone on to glory. I think about the cast members that are no longer here, and I still watch the shoe almost everyday. In fact, I don't know if any of the cast members are still alive in 2019. If anyone see's this post, and knows if any of the cast members are still living in 2019, I'd appreciate a hit back on this post. I do know that the lady who played Thelma Lou was still living within the last decade.
thank you for this. I just love hearing "Rafe" singing Lonesome Road, or is it called Look Down, anyway, I loved it in the original, and I love it now- I have replayed it several times. I'm a singer, and I intend to learn this song. I won't match Mr Jack, but I am inspired by him. Again, thank you for this.
At 5:00 when Ralph asks Jack about the episode where they kill Barney's microphone & another singer is on a hot mic backstage is called "Barney & the Choir". Jack was not in that episode. The episode that Jack is responding about is called "Rafe Hollister Sings" That is the one where Andy suggests that Rafe go to the tryouts. That is when the director decides that Rafe will do the solo instead of Barney. Jack just got the episodes crossed up during the conversation. Both are funny.
This is really the fault of Ralph Emory. He was so unprepared, he asked Jack about an episode he had nothing to do with. There were only a few episodes with Hollister. It isn't that hard to get it right. Jack was trying to bail Emory out.
More than sad! When I saw the host it got even sadder! On the other hand the tv was great!!! If Andy had had any since we would have been nailing Thelma Lou!!!
The singer who sings for Barney in that episode with the 'killed mic' was Glenn Cripes who had a wonderful operatic bass voice. This made the moment even more absurd as Barney was supposed to be a tenor.
Geez man, he was just thinking about another episode when he said that. And neither one of these gentleman ever had more going on that Ralph. Get over your stupid jealousy of someone who has been 1000X times more successful in life than you ever will be....ever.
A rare treat to hear that voice again. The music of of this man and the Darlings is one reason I still watch the reruns.
fantastic voice!
He always had such & Amazing voice Love that song!!! God Bless all who were a part of the Andy Griffith show! BEST SHOW EVER!!!☺️

WHY can’t TV have shows like this anymore? Such entertainment and talent! You actually LAUGHED!
Because we now live in an age where family shows don't count or mean squat anymore. Thank goodness for METV and TVLAND.
Maybe with a better host, this dude was horrific as a host before DJ
Man I wish he'd made records
Dang it, I welled up a bit. And in front of my wife! What a fantastic performance!
Best "made for TV" show ever...no doubt! This show teaches some of life's valuable lessons...& it's funny!
What a great singer!!!!
Did Ottis ever play the part of Whitt on Focus on The Family.
Children's Odesey radio program.

when this man sang back then i got the chills and this performance did not disappoint either .. man is a legend
Yes for his age he had still the power and strength in the pipes and sing a song.
So talented..wonderful voice
Thanks for these clips! Otis had a lot of talent!
Wow! Otis was the original Barney in the Flintstone cartoons! Love this !💗
God Bless them...Andy G best show ever.
Anne roselli loves lyou all 😀s ....l .....lllllll
These 2 men made Television history! They don't make "TV" like that these days! BTW.. "Otis" also was the voice of "Winnie The Pooh"!

wow as old as he is now he actually can still sing fairly well. very nice !
Don't know Rafe's age at this filming, but he really had a voice & was quite the professional vocalist. His breath control at 3:25 to 3:39 is amazing.
I'm watching this soon after hearing the news of Jim Nabors death. I keep tearing up thinking about this cast😢

This was 1991.
They are all great, what a great show and the actors were the best ever.
Beautiful voice 💙🥰 love these guys 💕💚💙
I'm not even half of his age and I wish I could sing as good as he can.
Classic........memories
Him and Jim Neighbors had the best voices.
Bravo, Rafe!

Yeah, I get ya. But remember we did get Duck Dynasty. That was lots of fun. I watch Phil Robertson's Podcast and Duck Call Room Podcast on youtube.

I don't believe Jack got anything crossed up. He actually corrected the interviewer, although he didn't state it was a completely different episode.
awesome
Love to see the old cast of the show
Jack Prince giving all he got God Bless.
Amazing
Love to hear him sing! He puts so much passion in it 💗
I think the host is rude. I loved all the cast.
Jack Prince's last appearance. He passed away 3 months later. Still brings tears to my eyes.
More than sad! When I saw the host it got even sadder! On the other hand the tv was great!!! If Andy had had any since we would have been nailing Thelma Lou!!!
Scott Moore I’m sure he was off camera.

First class travel with God.
Ralph was beginning to lose his mind I think.Wasnt made for tv.
Why the heck is Rafe Hollister there?
Rafe is one of my favorite characters in the series.
