Nice video. I wanted to know if you're going to make a video about the "Bonapartist International". The story of the former soldier and officer of Napoleon after 1815. I know that many became mercenaries for different countries around the world like Jean-François Allard who became an officer in India for the Sikh kingdom. Or the former officers who joined the numerous war of indpendance in South America by solidarity with the other revolutionary movement (Chilli has built a memorial plaque for the bicentenary of Napoleon's death in 2021 to thanks the 21 officers who take part in the battle of Achupallas and Chacabuco). And there was also the tentative to create a Bonapartist colony in Texas called the "Champs d'Asile".
I might make a video around the subject eventually. I am somewhat familiar with the failed Texas venture, but I don't really know anything about the other examples you mentioned.
At Waterloo I guess that maybe 20.000 former Napoleonic soldiers stood fighting Napoleon and his imperial guard. So much for struck by fear by those who knew them close, let alone those seeing them from afar. Favoritism doesn't necessarily lead to quality.
Dude, they never faced them but to the end of Waterloo after the Prussians started to onslought the French regular and young guard troops. You probably just watch Ridley's movie
@@sdtamarinerathe British only faced the middle guard. The Old guard were helping the young guard at plancenoit when the Prussians were attacking Nap’s right flank. People tend to forget that the Prussians were also at that battle.
your videos have been consistently improving. very informative
Nice work, yet again! Keep it going strong.
Great video dude! But I come here to ask something very specific, the march you've put in the background at 0:26, could you tell me the name of it?
No problem, it is Chant du retour pour la Grande-Armée.

It looks like I'm first. One might say I'm in the vanguard. 😅

No no, every man is needed for the line!
That's the spirit, a skirmisher starting the fight, waiting for the line.
Cavalry. Ca-val- ry. Not cal- vary.

The imperial guard was good quality. But it was not invincible.
The British were not afraid of them ? and won every battle against them !!
