Hi Nicola--glad to see that you are enjoying and experiencing these Indian traditional festivals---the drum beats you experience is a tradition continuing from 16th-17th century before evil looters british came to India--when the Maratha armies employed these musical bands to inform their enemy (a fair warning) that the Maratha army was on its way. The Marathi and Assam people are the few regional clans who defeated the mongal/mughal army of that time. Along with the band you will see a synchronized 'Lezim' dance--if you focus on the movements of this dance--those are hand, feet and body movement steps for self-defence given to children, girls, women and everyone in Maratha territories to protect themselves and their lands, grains, resources from mongal/islamic invaders, looters, and trouble makers.
Next month their will be Navratri festival please visit Taljai Devi temple. The temple aria is hilltop. and back side of the temple there is jungle. And it's looking good.
Correction- Ganesh Chaturthi is not only celebrated in Maharashtra or the South, but throughout the entire country of India. This festival is widely observed all over Bharat.
@Kartush20420 yea I mentioned that that it is celebrated in other parts of India, I just said predominantly Maharashtra ☺️ For non Indians watching it is to give general overview/context to the festival.
@@nicolakiduniyayou are absolutely right. It is predominantly celebrated in Maharashtra. I have lived in other parts of India too. It is hardly known there.
Community Ganesh prayers started in Pune by Lokmnya Gangadhar Tilak. Before that every house use to celebrate their own Ganesh Prayers. Idea was was to bring the community together. It got the momentum and helped to bring people together. It also helped to come together to kick the British out from India.
We also celebrate Vinayaka Chaviti here in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, especially in Hyderabad it is super busy these 11 days. Unlike Maharashtra, in Hyderabad, its celebrated for over 11 days and the 11th day being the nimajjan day. You don't see any shop, mall, supermarket, cinema halls, restaurants, hotels, or anything being opened apart from essential services like medical shops, etc on 11th day in Hyderabad. Btw, Hyderabad is also famous for big Ganesh idols like 70 feet Ganesh idol this time in Khairtabad. I don't think Maharashtra comes anywhere close when it comes to big Ganesh idols.
.. so because in this less than 10 minute video you didn’t see me say it then it means I am disrespecting? Interesting! Gentle reminder I am showing and adapting to life here - please do not have such expectations I will be doing everything exactly as Indians do ☺️
Mere pas dusra videos mera channel me Hindi me hai.. sab logon Hindi nahi aate, comments me unhone kaha English bolo 😅 lose/lose situation so I will do both some in Hindi some in English ☺️
Pune is the motherland of "Ganeshotsav"
🥳🙏🏻

Hi I'm from India and I am hindu boy
Hello! Welcome ☺️🙏🏻
You should be in Mumbai
On Friday
How about a new channel name Nikola ka Sansaar :> duniya is urdu word haha
But lots of Urdu words in hindi.. duniya is the most common word for ‘world’ that I hear day to day so makes most sense I use it for me ☺️
You should respect by saying Shri. Ganesha try to correct it.
.. so because in this less than 10 minute video you didn’t see me say it then it means I am disrespecting? Interesting!
