Small correction: It's *not* useless to go past 200-300 corruption when you're trying to farm favor. If you want to optimize favor farm you do need to be around 700 corruption with a build that can do it quickly. So there *is* a point other than testing yourself.
Thank you for this. I play for the fun so hitting 300 will be my max. Having builds that make that possible is beyond what I hope for. I hate my builds getting nerfed.
Fun is subjective, if you want to share casual builds then just advertise them as such. People may feel dissapointed to see you're on unempowered mono after reading "HIGH CORRUPTION" in the title. Also at >500 corruption you will at times get more Uniques from reward chest after completing an echo than full clearing 3 maps at 100 corruption, so unless you don't value your time it's certainly not useless... About Nemesis comment... well they can spawn in act 1 of campaign to what's the point of going further then?
300-500c is the sweet spot for drops. Anything higher RARELY increased anything. Numbers are clear on that, the devs mentioned it themselves. I get that fun is subjective, but people always complain a build "bad" when it can't do 1000c and that's just wrong. Hence why I made this video.
@@MrKubol yes I have realized this already and stopped doing it but I think ppl should still realize what the game is designed for. But they might not care lol
I don't understand this concept then. Devs provided endless dungeon like system without a ceiling and they are saying that in their minds builds shouldn't reach 3 digits corruption so this is a contrary to the endless dungeon concept. Similar systems exists in PoE - Delve or Grim Dawn - Shattered Realms and these are designed as intended you can push your build endlessly. If EHG is saying that corruption is not for pushing why it has endless scaling?
Mike said while they have sort of a "soft-cap" of what should be the max for most builds, they still wanted to keep the possibility for people to push endelessly and try to go as high as they can.
Unless the devs uses that info regarding builds that push higher than what is attained in average, then it makes no sense. I just hope they use it to easily spot OP builds and make a way to tweak it (nerf) for the succeeding cycle.
We’re humans. So, higher the number the higher the interest. But yeah higher corruption, if you can clear in 2-3 mins has benefits. It is what it is. The game is not finished until 1.4 patch. Then they will take time to take a break and start doing QoL patches and bug fixes. Misery loves company.
Personally my goal is 300-500 corruption. I think this goal also allows for more build options. 1k corruption really narrows the window of what you can Play
The math has been done. 1k is ideal with the right clear speed. Your point is plainly false. Sorry people want to min max in a single player game and it hurts your ego as a result. It’s not balanced or right. They watered it down and people are leaving as a result. Corruption pushing is a draw. Mansplaining that your audience is wrong for wanting to min max is a terrible angle
for balance sake every build should be able to do 1000 corruption with the correct items and without having to use some sort of cheese or game breaking bug. Like if I can easily do 1000 corruption on my mana stacking sorc or torment warlock with barely any items it doesn't make sense my geared shaman/void knight with perfect items should struggle to do 300-400 without getting 1 or 2 shot.
Untill they add loads of content end game. Main goal of people is max possible corruption.
Cuz there is no much to do end game.
That's actually a good point!

Fun is the key thing. But I always get called out to say this. ppl dont seem to play for fun anymore. Only numbers.

As I said, replace "High Corruption" with "Casual" in your video titles and I promise you, there will be no more "complainers" :)

Agree with you 100%. This is a nonsense standpoint by the devs. There should not be a soft cap on the game

@@rcane6842 Thats exactly what they are doing and have been doing. Any build that can go over 1k corruption will be nerfed.
Diablo 4 socialized the same message recently about the pit. They want any reasonable build to get to pit 61 (for the currency).

Exactly. Also you are on the right path with this because this is exactly hwo the game is designed ;)

YOU say "should" but the devs disagree with you. Just sayin ;) Ofc BIS gear should get you higher, but why over 3x the balanced corruption?
ppl like to brake the game 😅
SOME do, yes ;) But not the majority imo :D
I won't, I'll just know to not watch any of your videos.
Goodbye!
