Thank you so much! Much of Ricky and Gina's relationship is so hidden that it escapes the casual viewer or editor. It's made up of a lot of little moments and not a lot of exposition, so you really have to rely on the visuals to emphasise it. For example, the mirror shot 2:05 where Ricky is looking down at his necklace, given to him by his girlfriend presumably after Gina's confession of love, looking sad and conflicted. I've always loved this shot and wanted to use it in an edit ever since.
They really fit the delicacy of this wonderful song, and your editing shows the depths of their feelings beautifully. I mean, I haven't watched the show and I CAN FEEL IT! ❤ I used to think that the beat of that song would not work with an edit but I don't think that anymore. You did it so well. I love how you let the music exist for itself and not overwhelm it with dialogues. And yet, the clips match with it in a great ensemble. Beautiful work.
In my last video of Gina and Ricky (which was the first time I vidded them) I used a very fast and explosive song, and I found that they actually work best with a much slower song because pretty much all of their scenes are very delicate. I tend not to make my videos too voiceover heavy if the song actually fits the video exactly (I don't want two voices at once, for example, or the video will be too busy), and I only add them in where they're needed most. And I'm touched that I could make you feel something even though you haven't seen the series yourself :)) I really appreciate you watching my videos, even if you don't know the content.
You did a great job highlighting some of their understated moments, the subtle looks here and there. It all feels very natural. ❤
