Rough and Rustic Desk Design, a Western themed makeover

- This vintage mid century desk was a perfect blank slate with solid wood and plain flat surfaces, it was destined for a makeover. This transformation was entirely inspired by a cowhide print decoupage paper from redesign with prima and a coordinating collection of products that gave this project a mind of its own. Complete with a rustic barnwood faux finish, cowhide decoupage, rustic nailheads, and a longhorn steer motif, there is nothing about this desk that isnt true to its western theme!

Great tip about defining the edges of your blending brush! It would be cool to incorporate tooled leather, cowhide, shade, etc., though I have no idea what adhesive would be most effective.

I looked up the retiqua and it is incredible expensive. So I have a question: is it worth buying it? I mean is it a huge difference between working with this liquid wood (on wood actually) vs. using just simply beige chakpaint instead? What exactly makes the difference? Thank you!
Retique It is stainable. In this case, the raw wood in too was so damaged I had to cover it. The liquid wood allowed me to get a cohesive stained look with the body
