I wouldn't buy it, but it would be good for the mainstream companies to up the competition. Too bad it turned out to be more over priced gamer plastic... Although, I might give them a break about gluing in the cable unless they specifically market the board as moddable. The vast majority of people looking for a board from a mainstream company aren't going to open it up, and things certainly come loose in shipping. The glue prevents that. However if the board is marketed toward enthusiasts it should be designed with modding in mind.

Given the many advantages it has over my previous Logitech G12 (I think) - of which had a slew of unresponsive, overresponsive and multi-triggering keys - and not being a keyboard enthusiast myself, I'm pretty damn happy with the purchase. Fingers crossed!
For the bent plate, you found the 2 screws under the rubber feet on the wheel side, you didnt crack it open, right? RIGHT? (tbf, putting those screw under there was an ass, anti mod move too...) For the glued wires, you can unscrew the side buttons daughter board and bypass the glue problem ! And even on the RGB, brand competitors do it way better. Also, i dont know for the one you got, but mine (the first) came with a really, REALLY, strong pink hue while rgb where on white, i needed to offset everything a lot to get right colors. I got a replacement who is better, but still pink...
that's unfortunate about the sw, honestly at this point for anything aimed at customizability if it isn't fully qmk compatible it immediately gets a 0/10 from me. there's absolutely no reason why you would make a pcb or get one made and not just use the already existing qmk and via sw and code, i cannot imagine that is anything but more work to make your own customization thing and at that point is just being anti open source
You could check out a keyboard Fantech made. It has your favourite gatreon milky yellows (pre lubed even) and build in case and plate foam. The keyboard is also a hotswap keyboard with SOUTH FACING LEDS!! I only couldn't find anyone talking about it cuz Fantech is not a big company and does not have many interesting products like this one. btw it costs 128 euros in my country!
lol I would compare this to the tester84, which is similiar in features but has a top alu frame, thick plate foam and better stabs, and it costs like 4x times less...
I'd go the KBD67 Lite over the Tofu65 tbh. As someone who has both I prefer the Lite. Better sound, cheaper, comes with a carry case, better mounting system. I added the switch foam and silicone dampener for the bottom of the case for a bit more weight but both options sound great.
I just got this board on discount for $50. My other board is a Ducky One2 SF which I definitely love but was a bit loud with browns and also has soldered switches :( I'm liking this board (with reds) as it definitely has a lower and heavier sound to it. But the stablizer rattle is for real and it does feel a bit crowded. The Fkey row is nice but yeah that extra row on the right is garbage. So yeah - it has potential and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it.
I don't really get all the hate. Who is buying the NZXT keyboard in this community? I don't think this keyboard is any better or worse than a Razr or Corasire keyboard, and I think the target demographic are people who would one of those pre build keyboards. While the points you made are valid, I doubt the people who would purchase this keyboard would ever take it apart much less know what the hell north facing or south facing LEDs are.
I still think that north facing LEDs is a poor choice for a non-enthusiast keyboard. People that don't know a lot will want to customize their keyboard (honestly customization is probably the main interest for a mech keyboard in the eyes of a non-enthusiast) with new keycaps and they will not look at the profile, the layout or the size of the keys, they will be like "Oh pretty keycaps, I buy" and end up with keycaps that does not work well with their keyboard because of LEDs (especially since cherry profile is one of the most popular one)
They glued the wires so it is less likely that it would come apart in shipping and that would avoid more returns. Not a good experience for an enthusiast that wants to mod the board, but it doesn't seem like that's their target audience.
Can someone explain the problem with the north-facing LEDs? So cherry profile has interference? How? If the plate is on top of the pcb? Also what about other keycap profiles? Is it a problem with some of those as well?

NZXT: WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAG DOWN!

Full size + volume dial is appealing. No media keys, wrist rest or macro keys though. I do dig purple though
0:19 "THE BEST PART"
I love the way with part slides you got that from glarses( this isn’t hate) I love the style and you make it work really well
lol I would compare this to the tester84, which is similiar in features but has a top alu frame, thick plate foam and better stabs, and it costs like 4x times less...
Yeah that really shows how insane nzxts profit margins on this trash are
I didn't know Taran from LTT had a brother. Nice to meet you.
HIPYO TWERKING BEFORE GTA 6 IS CRAZY
The glarses transition 😂😂
One tip in removing hot glue. 90% isopropyl. will cause it to release bonds. wont help if its encased. but if its just setting on, itll pop off
Anyone else heard the "woo yeah"?
Nice Glarses Reference Hipyo
I thought I was watching a Glarses video with the editing and sound effects "aww yeah"
I actually looked at one of these and they seem promising but I’m still gonna have to go with the basic Tofu65 lol
check out the zoom65 it'd a great budget board about to drop
if you do the tofu, go plateless and do the penny mod on each side for serious flex
might wanna check out the bakeneko or qk65
I'd go the KBD67 Lite over the Tofu65 tbh. As someone who has both I prefer the Lite. Better sound, cheaper, comes with a carry case, better mounting system. I added the switch foam and silicone dampener for the bottom of the case for a bit more weight but both options sound great.
@@chem1kal it’s $210. I would not call that budget
A Skyloong GK board would do everything this does for cheaper, and even has lubed stabilizers.
Glad I saw this I was just about to buy one 😳
I got the function tkl with my PC and I actually wound up replacing my razer huntsman mini with it. Best pack in keyboard I've ever used!
The Glarses impersonation 😆
DAYUMMMMMMMMM HIPYO GOT A BIG GYATT
sounds good wonder what you thoughts on New GMMK 2 lol 65%
in the uk, we love knobs
"similar to a child who will only eat beans im very picky" I CANNOT!! lollll
nice 2nd of april is my birthday good video btw
NOW I GOT IT, YOU SOUND LIKE THE GUY FROM SIMPILIFIED HISTORY!
For a second I thought they did something as heathenous as glueing the stabilizer wires.
I just got this board on discount for $50. My other board is a Ducky One2 SF which I definitely love but was a bit loud with browns and also has soldered switches :(
I'm liking this board (with reds) as it definitely has a lower and heavier sound to it. But the stablizer rattle is for real and it does feel a bit crowded. The Fkey row is nice but yeah that extra row on the right is garbage. So yeah - it has potential and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it.
Funniest YT vid I’ve watched in a while 😂. We don’t care about plastic
Ahahah hipyo adding the glarses ooooh yeeeah in the background of the video lmaoooo
Alfred Spraylube is my favourite character in the Hippoverse
They glued the wires so it is less likely that it would come apart in shipping and that would avoid more returns. Not a good experience for an enthusiast that wants to mod the board, but it doesn't seem like that's their target audience.
My favourite switches: carrots, banana splits, huskys, creams, creamsicles and black inks.
Its decent for there first keyboard so give them some props.
For that price nah
Can someone explain the problem with the north-facing LEDs? So cherry profile has interference? How? If the plate is on top of the pcb? Also what about other keycap profiles? Is it a problem with some of those as well?
Because the keycap comes in contact with the switch before bottoming out, creatibg a mushy feel on certain keys.
It is not a problem in other profiles
@@OzKo Thanks for the explanation 🙏
Just use switches that has long poles and it's no longer a problem. That's the fix that switch makers are doing so you can use cherry profile
