I think you sabotaged your Nextool by loosening the screw, because mine makes short work of paracord, it snips through in one and the bit flies off to the side. I don't know if you know the USA EDC channel, maxlvledc, but he did a test of various scissors like these and the Nextool came out on top. Conversely my Leatherman Squirt scissors were never as good as yours even before the spring broke, there was too much play between the blades too so they couldn't cut thin cotton thread, which is something you didn't test, that's actually a pretty good gauge of blade tightness because if there's a bit of play between the blades, the thread just bends in a zig zag shape across the blade and doesn't get cut. That's also a good indicator of whether they are any good for cutting hairs, which a lot of us do from time to time. The small Vics always excel on those fine materials, they're really precise, and their manufacturing seems to be consistent. The Nextool scissors aren't precise or tight enough for hairs, but they can do cotton thread no problem. Having said that, my favourite of all which many will agree on are ''none of the above''. The ones which work best for me at pretty much any task, including cutting nori seaweed in the kitchen when one of my flatmates has stolen the kitchen scissors, are the full size Victorinox scissors. They can still cut through very thin materials and do precision cuts as well as the 58mm scissors, but can also deal with coarser materials.
I am going to retighten it and try. With your current one, does the spring action of the scissors work? The SAK scissors seem to be beating all the specific-purpose tools. Good for them, sad for the rest. Thanks for your comment as usual.
I had the same issue with my micra (anniversary model all steel). The bolt came too loosen. I had to punch it a little too reduce the gap between files of the scissors and now the closest part to the tip of the scissors are better to cut small things like cords. But the standard Victorinox scissors like the compact are faaaaar away better quality. It's a shame that the main tool of a multi tool cane with this lack of quality. I love the form factor of the micra and the tool set, but for sure my next keychain will be a Victorinox or ps4 from Leatherman
I just got a mini Flagship a week ago, and one of the springs already snapped in the plier handles just from being opened. If any of these are more durable they're already better.
It's a shame to hear that broken springs is still an issue with the mini flagship. I had that problem with the spring for the knife blade. I had heard somewhere that Nextool had recognized this issue and rectified it, but obviously not.
I’m pretty surprised by the squirt and splice. I have never been impressed by the scissors on a Gerber or Leatherman. I like my Classic SD and my Rambler but the 91mm Victorinox scissors are awesome. The Climber stays in my pocket just for the scissors.

@@urbanknifeguy Yes the spring action on my scissors works fine, I've never had to adjust them in the 2 years I've owned it.
@@simonh6371 Could me mine then 🤔 I'll fiddle with mine a bit more. Thanks!
My NexTool hasn't failed me once, and yes, I have it on my keychain. I gifted my Squirt PS4 to my dad.
@@Raees-Divitiae OK! Thanks for sharing!
I want a Victorinox Mini Multitool.
Great Comparison!
Thank you. It would be great if they did one!

Thanks for sharing and tip. It is a shame for the poor (or inconsistent) performance of the Micra.
Squirt S4. Love it.
My prefer micra😃
Sad the squirt is gone :/
Yep it's a real shame. I wonder if LM have something in the works as a replacement?

So sorry to hear that. That is unfortunate. Any way for a return or swap?
@@urbanknifeguy They gave me a refund. I'd consider giving it another shot but it put me off of it a little bit.
@@griftgfx OK. If you ever have a chance, I think it is worth another shot.

Thanks for watching! Climber is great. It was my very first SAK bought more than 30 years ago!
can the mini flagship cut nails?
Like fingernails? The scissors technically could but I would not recommend it.
SAK all day long
