Written notes in the video description. Would a video with a worked example for exactly what to do for a S22 Necromancer be helpful? Thanks! Filthy :-)
Instead of breaking on 5 and 0, you can break on 4 and 9. Saves you gold and is slightly easier. So, I start on 14, then go 19, 24, 29, etc. it is a little thing, but if your sole purpose is bring gems this approach is just a bit faster and cheaper. All gem rank ups are still 100% with this method.
I’ve just gotten into Diablo and am an efficiency and min/max lover. Thank you SO much for breaking this down. I was afraid I was wasting my keys doing lower levels just to upgrade gems, but now I feel fine with it. lol
I just watched this video while farmen keys =P i have 3x 100 augs, and 3more gems ready, i just run out of ancients >.< but writing comments doesn't give XP so back to blasting! Great explanation video btw!
You can save a bit of time by picking up your items first, then starting your portal back to town when you have 2 gem ups left. By the time you've finished your gem ups, you'll already be almost porting back. Saves a few seconds.
level 100 gems means that you have to do dozens and dozens of rift runs to upgrade the legendary gem, all so you can throw it in the cube? That's a lot of work to get more of one stat on one item...
I used to have a hangup about doing nothing less than 100s but now I’m happy to do 80s early once my gear is actually ready, and wait until I am speeding 90s or 95s to do 100 or 110 augments.
@@leemaynard8044 It depends on your build and skill, but in general I would say go ahead and aug at whatever point you feel you've hit a "hiccup" in your progression. The boost from the first few augs far outweighs the couple of hours it takes to level the gems, especially at low levels when you likely don't have optimal gear yet. I'd say aug a couple of your best pieces, then you'll likely find a few more good pieces by the time you're ready to aug again, and you will likely be 5+ GRs higher at that point also. I made the mistake of waiting for all my gear to be near-ideal before I did any augs. The worst think you can do is have your GR progress stagnate because you are playing to too safe. This may be less of an issue when you don't play HC like me though.
Mostly I run the lowest GRs to get 5x gem upgrade and select the upgrade option. I do this for like 3 - 6 gems at once. Then I raise the GR level and continue my routine. Around GR level 80 - 100 I switch from speed build to dmg build bc I die too often. Cheers, Sadtorious :)
Yeah I been playing the Patterns of Justice Tempest Rush monk this season & it has huge crazy damage but just gets 1 shotted in higher rifts no matter what I do
If you have enough gold you should just start at whatever level you can clear quickly. You will get more gear and exp while you get those augment gems. Whatever you can clear in 1:30 good rift 2:00 bad rift.
How do you get the copies of the legendary gems? And does it matter what gem I use? I mean to say, do any of the gems' properties transfer or is it only main stat?
to get a copy of a legendary gem you have to give all your specific gem to another character or drop on ground in town, you will get a new drop after you finish gr. It doesnt matter which legendary gem you use for augment but it matters with normal gem you use, eg. emerald = adds dexterity
quick question that I still have not figured out, while using a wizard, does using teleport break the channel bonus from deathwish or not ?? I ask because even though you move, you do not stop attacking
start tping out while finishing gems. It's not a big deal but it adds up. Also if you cap your bloodshards and leave some on ground, still quit as it's bloodshard neutral anyway xd.

Yes, the 3 royal flawless gems and the legendary gem are destroyed in the process of augmenting. The next GR you run will drop the now missing legendary gem again on lvl 0. Therefore you should level the legendary gem you are going to use for augmenting as high as possible (while still being fast, lvl 100 is usually a comfortable threshhold). Be sure not to start leveling a gem for augmenting, that may be capped out before 100 (like boon of the hoarder)!
You have to be 10 levels higher than the gem level to get a guaranteed level upgrade. So you'll have to be able to clear a 110 to get a rank 100 gem at 100%.
