It seems that the entity is omniscient by knowing what will happen in the future and watching the characters from afar. I predict Sara will meet with this omniscient entity and will tell the people back in the town why exactly they’re there. We know that the people in the town are there for a reason because the monsters know each of their names, it could be family tree lines that caused the people in the town to be put there in the first place because of some ancient ritual that took place in that location hundreds if not thousands of years ago.
Omg!! You are so good at analyzing this show. I usually only listen to you and 1 other analysts. I've been waiting for this video and looking for it every day since the show dropped. Thank you so much for your hard work. ✌
There are 2 Questions that I think might be important later in the Show. Why do the Monsters used to SCREAM before the Trapped People started to use the Talismans (Before Boyd found them and brought them to The Town)? And why after, they stopped Screaming and started WHISPERING?
Definitely key questions. One of my guesses is that the talismans may have a global/passive effect on the town, and the monsters. It seems that not only they gained the ability to speak, but they’ve progressively become more human-like-as if something (maybe the talismans) is counteracting whatever curse or spell made them the way they are.
My take is that the monsters were adapting their hunting behaviour, since they couldn’t scream to intimidate pray which is safe behind the talismans they put on a more human like glamour to try and trick people into opening their doors
Very good analysis! I'd like to add that one of the islands visited by Odyssey is the sole influence of this tv series' setting. Whereas, once on that island, he can never return to his home except in one way: he should tell the Phaeacians about his very long journey.
I decided to rewatch the first season before I start the second, with your videos and analyses in my head, because I think your thoughts are very appropriate. So on a second viewing I am more and more convinced that this place is indeed some kind of entity similar to the human psyche, which also evolves as a human personality. In addition to Jung, Freud's psychoanalytic theories are becoming more and more apparent to me (Jung was a student and collaborator of Freud) According to Freud (very simply put) the human personality consists of three parts: 1.ID 2.EGO -self 3.SUPEREGO Each of the three parts has a specific role. In everyday life, they interact to govern personality and determine behaviour. The ID is the most ancient part of the personality, it is born with us, it is driven by instincts: urges that drive us to satisfy them immediately, so the id works on the pleasure principle. I think the Colony house represents this part, because, as it was said in one of the episodes, people here prefer to live for today, to enjoy the time they have left as fully as possible. They're more informal, more free than town people. And town people, I think, represent the SUPEREGO. The superego contains the learned societal expectations, rules, moral standards to which we must adhere (a kind of guide). If we want to be part of a society we have to adapt to its rules, our needs, urges cannot be fulfilled immediately and anywhere. EGO mediates between ID and SUPEREGO. Mental health depends on the balance of these parts and on the success of reducing the tensions within and between them. When the monsters invaded Colony house and were welcomed by the town people, it seems to be an example of this. Different parts of the personality began to come into balance, a more functional personality began to emerge. I'm not a psychologist, but these parallels struck me (having watched several of your videos and starting to look at it with that kind of eye), I think this place is evolving in some way and people are representing certain parts of a personality or something.
0:08 *Seasons:* I was surprised to see this, as both Victor & Boyd mention that the seasons never change in FROM, until they noticed the leaves & trees changing. So, are the seasons listed on the Registry the season each person came from?
Great analysis! We learn so much but it all leads to even more questions! Victor mentions the cave under that house is where the monsters sleep, previously Jasmen looked remorseful after she killed Kevin so we might be getting more answers just to who and what these creatures are next season. My guess that voice that talked to Sarah may be correct that there is a force worse than the monsters out in the woods.
How long did it take to make this analysis ? Just wow i have no words , I'm amazed about your deep analysis. You deserve so much more subscribers , keep up the good work ♥.
in the original vampire/werewolf mythology of transylvania, the bodies of the dead evil people, or people which were expected of being evil had their organs removed. this was done to stop the wolves from eating the organs and leading their spirit to a wolf with an evil spirit in it. it was only later that the stake through the heart was done instead. the tongue was removed to stop the werewolves [i dont remember the original romanian word, but it translated to "wolf people"] from tricking the grave keepers from opening up the coffins, freeing the evil creature and spirit. in the show i think that sara is being groomed to become a new monster. its weird that she was told to kill someone in such a way, when she could have just left the door open. also how did she get away, if she killed him and left while it was already night. what did she do with the organs. she was told to kill as they do, so did that include eating the organs? she might need to be killed and revived? IDK
about the drawing in the tunnel, the symbols with a shape like the letter F just represent the trees, and the triangles represent the mountains, and between them, there is a river with people using boats, which means maybe we will see a river and boats in the next season.
I think it's a story, from left to right.. the boats arriving, Vikings maybe, the white F shapes representing good trees, the other shapes are stones.. then the story unfolds. It's down to us to interpret the story (until season 2 comes out) I guess. Then at the far right there are black F shapes (trees) that seem to get closer to the white hut - what was it Victor said about the trees getting closer to the town?.. what looks like a sacrifice, then the infinity symbol. I think this show is all about Rebirth.
I have a theory. What if Jade had created a virtual world for therapy purposes to deal with certain situations. Most of the characters seem to have issues of some kind. Tabitha and Jim were planning on getting divorced, Abbey and Boyd were ex military and could have had to deal with the psychological horrors of war, The priest witnessed the aftermath of a child being violently killed. I think Jade and Toby originally went into the virtual world to fix some glitches and got trapped there along with everyone else as Jade forgot why he was there. The voices giving out warnings to avoid danger are scientists back in the real world trying to get those trapped out of there. The monsters that come out at night could be symbolic of being consumed by negativity, fear and depression with the possibility of what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
I really think it’s like the book the far away tree as lands in the tree move. Like the coordinates, it’s like they are moving geographically. So people aren’t coming from different places but the town in moving.
That's a lot of solid research man. I wondered if they and up being pulled into one particular person's mind. Like someone very powerful that knows or doesn't know pulling anyone within the radius of their limits into this bubble. This person is knowledgeable in various mythologies that creates the fantasy type rules of this town.
Man I love your videos, I can't imagine the amount of work you put behind it. Thank you ! Can you comeback to give us your opinion on the two first episodes !!!!
Get this. What if Boyd is transported into the chimney of Colony House. What if Sara gets transported back in the town and the people find her. They all hate her. Donna is going to have a democratic vote and they are going to put her in the box. At the end of episode Boyd gets out and last minute saves her from the monsters coming in to get her. He will have to enter the box because they will be surrounded. Puts the talisman up and they are safe till morning. Season 2: Episode 1 !!!
I'd mention that 1864 as the height of the civil war which Jade seemed to have a vision of. Another note- they say they have elements from Lost, the lighthouse in lost was how jacob found candidates, perhaps the lighthouse there is how the kid finds people to bring to town to "rescue him", note it seems to be people who have had some kind of trauma or grief
excellent analysis thank you so much!! at the end of the video I noticed the town is shown as a circle shape on the poster image. Maybe the symbol that Jade keeps saying is a map of the town?
Good observation! I think it looks like a maze, almost even like a representation of the world tree (Yggdrasil). It's interesting since Jade referred to the town as a maze at the beginning of the show.
My prediction is that fallen tree isn't in the same spot. In that, I believe that fallen tree moves around which is why they have so many people from so many different locations. Though the show didn't have a character go around and ask where they were when they ran into the fallen tree.
On LOST the ppl that died on the island were trapped on the island. That was their explanation of the “whispers” Your theory makes good sense that there’s a presence in that town of those that died there.
How is it that 15 years after it ended, people still don't understand that show? They didn't die in the plane crash, they weren't trapped on the Island, the whispers were always the 'others' fucking around with them. Re-watch the show, mate.
@@atlanticjeff absolutely, they were alive the whole time they were on the island. I have watched the series 6 times. I Love LOST and still think it was the GREATEST show on television. However, it was revealed that the whispers were the souls of those that died on the island and so trapped there.... I personally would have preferred if it was "The Others" messing with them. Take a look at the clip I included... ua-cam.com/video/PsuqPPQWXZI/v-deo.html
This is brilliant analysis! Since Sunday the community has been discussing some of the things you mention, we are coming together and thinking along the right lines. I like your Jungian 'collective unconscious' concept too. You may also enjoy Snowpiercer, if you haven't already seen it.
Would love your comments on the wind. There's something definitely going on with it to the point that it's almost alive or communicating. One thing I noticed was when Jim and Tabitha are in the pit in the basement and are having a tender moment, there is the sound of the wind twice. I don't know if this happens elsewhere.
I've seen a few other people mention something similar in the comments, but I personally haven't noticed it. It could most likely be an audio-engineering oversight or something else, but I'll try re-watching the scene you mentioned.
I think Boyd will get out of the well from the flood. The water will come in and he will be able to float to the top gripping the rock like a side of a pool.
The paper with the names are also in pyramid shapes. One up, one down, almost on top of each other. That's showing the underworld matching ourworld, but a mirror copy. "As above, so below." It was featured heavily in The DaVinci Code. It's showing you that they are in an otherworld, or really a liminal space. Which is a space where both worlds coexist. Fun fact, the Louvre in France is a pyramid on top of a pyramid, and it's on the Rose Line, which is showing you a line through the world that is considered liminal. Also, it's about the divine femine, which was what this season focused on. That line "I grew up in France with my grandma," another divine femine allusion.
I have found some similarities between this show and a short lived show called Persons Unknown. In that show - the main characters were all taken by an unseen group of people, all dumped into this weird town, but they all were subtly linked to each other in someway. And when the show ended (it got cancelled), the characters thought they survived and escaped the town. Only to then discover that they're in fact just transported to another location.
So, I looked at all the drawings again. There is one where the monsters are coming from under a house, into it & about to get someone under a bed. The next pic is Jim’s house. The last pic is Boyd in a box, not a chimney like some think. What do you think?
Nice breakdown and interesting theories, most of which I think are probably on point. Also how is this show not rated at least 8 out of 10. It’s like Lost if it was actually a good show that lead to where we hoped it would
Im a self described LOST fanatic, and i see all the hate on the ending in the comments. While I still can say that it was my favorite show EVER. Be nice to me , but tell me the ending you expected:) im curious in a polite way ;)
This is a good theory considering that mother of the family had found a long loss sentimental bracelet that had belong to her husband, that he had loss before being entrap there, in the From town, after digging a hole trying to trace the electric lines.
Prediction for the season 2 - either in the middle or in the finale, a group of them will take the coach and try to move the fallen tree. They'll get past it and find a different road which will then lead then to an enormous lake or body of water (lake of tears). They'll find either a couple more buildings there or some sort of abandoned camp. Then they'll choose to stay there instead of reporting to the others
My theory about the monsters and their tounges, are that they are like crows. Crows have long creepy tounges. They also eat the soft spots, going for the eyes and tounge as Julie notes in an earlier episode.
I don't think the monsters are shapeshifters. Yes, they change their shape, but it's only from their monster form to their human one, and their human forms always stay the same. One other interesting thing about them is their clothes; they're all wearing attire from the 70s(just like the cars from that era), from the time when Victor's flashback happened, when the first time two cars arrived, and when the town "died." I think the town was normal before something happened to it and its people, with Victor being the only survivor.
I agree with this. I think they shapeshift as much as a werewolf would-from human to monster. It’s possible something turned them into these creatures back in the 70s.
Ooh sansei teach me master (as i bow deeply). You took it to a level beyond even what the directors probably haven't thought of. I got a few questions for you are any of the group. 1. When it comes on they show drawings that i assume victor made have any body tried to see what the news articles was about. I dont have the program to enhance the writing but i did make out Abbyville. 2. On the ambulance is the acronym T.R.O.Y can anyone figure that out? 3. When Sarah kill Toby and opened the door for the monsters it was dark and they didnt kill her. Also she walked home in the dark. 4. Victor saw the dog with the enchanted child why was he scared when he heard barking in the tree and use gun to scare them away. Thats some of my burning questions, please anyone take a stab at them im open to any theory or help.
Thanks! I’m addressing some of these questions in my next video. As for when Sara killed Tobey, I think it was just that the curtains were down (but you can see the light coming through behind them). Regarding the barking of the dogs, I suspect it triggered a memory of the traumatic event of the first massacre when he was a still a kid.
I know I'm late to the game, and I almost always am. I've watched Seasons 1 and 2 a couple of times and decided I'd really like to put some ideas out there. I'm so afraid of spoilers that I don't usually participate in online discussions. This channel is more like a college course in cinema appreciation than creating content for UA-cam, and I'm completely subscribed, impressed, hooked and blown away. I've been keeping track of a few threads but the one thing that was very obvious to me is something I have been unable to find anywhere. It's all of the Biblical themes and images. I'm not religious, but I'm the daughter of a licensed minister. My summers included daily Bible readings with notebooks that I had to fill in, so I do recognize the mythology when I see it. (Yes, it was utterly diabolical,😈 but I was a voracious reader with vast resources an and a motorbike at my disposal. I did ok.) That wonderfully creepy mural that Ellis painted is obviously a depiction of Eden, both before and after the Fall. There are a number of moments throughout season 1 that allude to the Bible but I won't list it all here. The other major examples are Mr. Fish and Loaves and the Tower of Babel, both from Genesis. Mr. F&L referred to Jesus' miracle of feeding a crowd of thousands with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish -- both of which were supplied by a little boy. 🤨 The communication tower wouldn't have had that religious overtone if not for the voice on the radio followed by a violent storm, the first storm we've seen. The tower was built to thwart and defy whatever took them and assert their own will and power to leave their situation. God destroyed the Tower of Babel because the people building it were getting too powerful. He made them all speak different languages so that they would find it impossible to collude in order to challenge the might and power of God ever again. Also, for all of the time I've spent pondering the most annoying name for a series ever (with runners up, "24" and "Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23" which deserve to be binged forever, btw), in wondering about Fish & Loaves and Babel made me think about Genesis. Eden and Babel are in Genesis, and this first book of the Bible is about the origin of EVERYTHING. Genesis and FROM -- it's a bit of a stretch, but only a bit. FROM - beginnings, origins 🤷 I'm not a religious person and I don't search out religion in my personal viewing, unless it's to avoid it. I think that's why it's made me crazy(er) that I can't find a hint of this online anywhere. I even violated my self imposed Facebook ban and still couldn't find anything. I really don't want to create an Instagram account, but if no one else has noticed this, my search must continue. At this point it's less about validation and more of a sanity/idiocy test. Am I an idiot, or did Season 1 end with some unknown force smiting the Tower of Babel?
Guys, I'm Brazilian and I hope I can express myself well. We don't have many Brazilian channels talking about it. Well, maybe they are on an island (hence the maritime lighthouse that guides the boats). This island seems to be a kind of valley and that's why they keep going around. That lighthouse in the middle of the forest makes no sense, only if there is a sea nearby.
The voice Jim heard sounded to me more like an actual person, very reminiscent of how the interactions between the survivors and Tom Friendly/the others went early on in Lost. Possibly a person that is part of a group that controls the town and people coming to it
We talked about it we think there are people in the town that are plants and there to spy on people and do various other things. For example the bartender not helping. He may be the person on the radio who identifies Jim. We also think Fatima is a plant.

In addition to Jung, Freud's psychoanalytic theories are becoming more and more apparent to me (Jung was a student and collaborator of Freud)
According to Freud (very simply put) the human personality consists of three parts:
1.ID
2.EGO -self
3.SUPEREGO
Each of the three parts has a specific role.
This is by far the best video I've seen about From, Noice job.
0:08 *Seasons:* I was surprised to see this, as both Victor & Boyd mention that the seasons never change in FROM, until they noticed the leaves & trees changing. So, are the seasons listed on the Registry the season each person came from?
Dude thank you for the review(?)! Analysis! Right. haha. I'd love to hear your thoughts on season 2. Your video is amazing. Thank you.
Yes! I’m so glad you are watching Raised By Wolves! Station Eleven was amazing too 🔥🔥
the collective unconsciousness it's the best explanation I've seen so far...
Outer Range on Prime is a new mystery to unravel! Love the way you analyze the show. My fav reviewer.
Thank you! I started watching Outer Range last night :)
I hope you come back and make more content. You’ve got the sturdiest theories I’ve seen!
in the original vampire/werewolf mythology of transylvania, the bodies of the dead evil people, or people which were expected of being evil had their organs removed. this was done to stop the wolves from eating the organs and leading their spirit to a wolf with an evil spirit in it. it was only later that the stake through the heart was done instead. the tongue was removed to stop the werewolves [i dont remember the original romanian word, but it translated to "wolf people"] from tricking the grave keepers from opening up the coffins, freeing the evil creature and spirit.
in the show i think that sara is being groomed to become a new monster. its weird that she was told to kill someone in such a way, when she could have just left the door open. also how did she get away, if she killed him and left while it was already night. what did she do with the organs. she was told to kill as they do, so did that include eating the organs? she might need to be killed and revived? IDK
Nakakahype tuloy lalo ang season 2 🔥
The lighthouse also gave off a fog horn sound which we hear Boyd witness and wife found herself inside of the lighthouse in her dream.
Nice touch that they have to use whatever paper they have.
This is my 5th time watching this review! The BEST!!!!! Simply the BEST!!!!
Glad you liked it! :)
about the drawing in the tunnel, the symbols with a shape like the letter F just represent the trees, and the triangles represent the mountains, and between them, there is a river with people using boats, which means maybe we will see a river and boats in the next season.
Good observation! Very possible.
@@FromLand Thanks
I love the virtual therapy theory. It would make sense given what we know so far.
@@FromLand Jade hit his head in Episode 1 and Toby was killed off, there could be why Jade woke up speaking about an escape room
Also I’d be awesome if you could do an analysis of the drawings during the intro and the ones we see in Victor’s room.
I really think it’s like the book the far away tree as lands in the tree move. Like the coordinates, it’s like they are moving geographically. So people aren’t coming from different places but the town in moving.
Bravo. I’m truly impressed.
That's a lot of solid research man. I wondered if they and up being pulled into one particular person's mind. Like someone very powerful that knows or doesn't know pulling anyone within the radius of their limits into this bubble. This person is knowledgeable in various mythologies that creates the fantasy type rules of this town.
That's very possible.
The show reminds me of Midnight Mass and Salem’s Lot. Really good ones. I just hope this one gets season 2.
You are best at your analysis.
Man I love your videos, I can't imagine the amount of work you put behind it. Thank you !
Can you comeback to give us your opinion on the two first episodes !!!!
Which episode did you find that image of those coordinates in?
Close!
Was waiting for your anyalysis of the finale! You always catch the little details. Your reviews are truly the best!
when tabitha was walking up the stair case i think it was the light house as u heard that horn noise
I think so too.
My prediction is that fallen tree isn't in the same spot. In that, I believe that fallen tree moves around which is why they have so many people from so many different locations. Though the show didn't have a character go around and ask where they were when they ran into the fallen tree.
Love your series so far
Wow! Amazing theory about the coordinates! I can listen to you analyze all day. Great job!

This is brilliant analysis!
Since Sunday the community has been discussing some of the things you mention, we are coming together and thinking along the right lines.
I like your Jungian 'collective unconscious' concept too.
You may also enjoy Snowpiercer, if you haven't already seen it.
Community???really ppl collectively come together to analyze this 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ah guess we all need to feed a pretentious nature.
That was my first thought as well, concerning the spider bites boyd received & how it'll prob cure his Parkinsons. Great breakdown!
Best horror series I can't wait to see the S2 ❤
I think Boyd will get out of the well from the flood. The water will come in and he will be able to float to the top gripping the rock like a side of a pool.
Or drown.
This series is a masterpiece
Very detailed analysis well presented. Thank You for your insight into the show. Hoping for a season 2
Your videos are so good
The Tongue! How could I miss that!
Then they'll choose to stay there instead of reporting to the others
damn cant believe u got the fiancé part right
Those are my 3 favorite shows.
My top 3 at the moment as well!
Woop woop analysis time 🚀🚀🚀
My theory about the monsters and their tounges, are that they are like crows. Crows have long creepy tounges. They also eat the soft spots, going for the eyes and tounge as Julie notes in an earlier episode.
Just waiting for Oceanic Flight 815 to fall out of the sky and crash into the forest.
Hahaha
Amazing video sir, I like learning from your content!
Thanks! 🙏🏻 I really like your recaps as well!
@@FromLand Thanks bro, we may have to link up one of these days for a collab.
Absolutely!
Great breakdown. Looking forward to your thoughts on Raised by Wolves.
I personally think the main boy who broke his leg, and victor are the same person
Great video!! Can’t wait for your analysis of Raised by Wolves ❤
Great work as always. Excited to hear your thoughts on raised by Wolves.
Muchas gracias por tu análisis
Wonder if Ethan playing with those monster toys on episode one on the bus be fire being flipped has any significance
Wonder how Boy in White character will change as the actor who plays him grows up ala Walt in Lost???
I did ok.)
That wonderfully creepy mural that Ellis painted is obviously a depiction of Eden, both before and after the Fall.
The communication tower wouldn't have had that religious overtone if not for the voice on the radio followed by a violent storm, the first storm we've seen.
FROM - beginnings, origins 🤷
I'm not a religious person and I don't search out religion in my personal viewing, unless it's to avoid it.
Haha, thanks! I agree with you on all the biblical connections, and the Tower of Babel connection is also a fair one.
Hey Ronaldo! One of Victor’s drawings also shows what looks like an island. It is very possible they are in some type of island.
Grade A analysis! I must not be paying attention.
J’adore ta chaîne et c’est cool pour les sous titres en français :) pouce en l’air et je m’abonne
The voice Jim heard sounded to me more like an actual person, very reminiscent of how the interactions between the survivors and Tom Friendly/the others went early on in Lost. Possibly a person that is part of a group that controls the town and people coming to it
The bartender?..
the bartender saw the tools that jims wife went for but also has a radio ...and didnt stay to help colony house
@@forgxtnsoulx8450 This one sounds interesting, I think it would be a cool twist but to me it didn’t sound like him
could there be spectators? could one of the spectators be a member of the town?
We talked about it we think there are people in the town that are plants and there to spy on people and do various other things. For example the bartender not helping. He may be the person on the radio who identifies Jim. We also think Fatima is a plant.
