I show how to fill in a tooth gouge with a castable acrylic and shape it to make it feel like a new bite plate. I discovered this great repair material several years ago.

Excellent, and perhaps the most valuable video I have seen on UA-cam.

    Keith,
I was amused about the comment about putting a plastic mouthpiece under a hot lamp. I believe it was my Ebolin that ended up being your casualty. :) Hope all is well...thinking fixing the biteplate of my Dukoff and found your vid.

I don't have a glue gun, can I used a different brand that has the plunger built in? Can you suggest one?

    Great video!
Just one question. Why are you not using acrylic powder on this one?

I need to do this (badly) for my Francois Louis hard rubber (or whatever he uses) tenor mpc. I received the dental acrylic from a dental supply place. Some questions: 1. was is the mixing ratio? 2. Do I have to let it sit before application? 3. How long do I have to work with it? 4. Set it overnight as well? 5. I don't want to gouge the rest of the mpc while filing and sanding, so should I tape around the "V" bite mark (which is pretty deep; and there is no bite plate, just the mpc itself) tightly? Or not overfill? Thank you.....

You may have a different acrylic than I use. So you need to experiment if you don’t have instructions.

Impressive. Would silver polish or brass polish be safe to use as the polishing compound?

I do finish with a Flitz metal polish. The polishing or rubbing compound is a little more abrasive for the step before the polishing.
