Because people are personally biased towards music they favor and are fondly affectionate towards and not other music they deem less favorably; as with any entertainment categorizing, admired briefly for its instant gratification and creature comfort and not affectionately liked for its soulfully musical talent and imagery.

I dont know why I'm drawn to middle eastern music. Ofra has captured with her voice what Led Zeppelin has done with their sound in Kashmir. I would love to hear a middle eastern orchestra perform this song with that haunting desert feel, but still keeping in the original beat of Kashmir and sung by Ofra's beautifull voice. I've enjoyed this rendition of Kashmir, thank you Ofra.

You should check out the version of the song by Plant and Page (two of the Zeppelin members) from their "No Quarter" concert. No one can touch Ofra's vocals, of course, but that version mashes up the original version's rock with a lot of cool Middle Eastern instrumental elements, including strings. Check it out!

This song as sung by Ofra Haza took: power, musical dexterity, aerobic athleticism, incredible skill, stamina. Not the first time that I have describe this lady as an athlete, a magician with a column of air, as much as a phenominal vocalist. I'm only listening to this and it leaves me exhausted. What a marathon !
For the religious: Ofra's place now is seated to
    the right of Gabriel.

At first, I was searching for Led Zep's version. For some reason, I can always concentrate better when listening ti Kashmir while writing.
Then, I stumbled upon this version... and I must admit, I do not at all regret it.
At first, during the first few seconds, I was hesitant to listen to the rest and almost left. I am happy to say I stayed.
This is absolutely wonderful! I'm in awe. Such intense feelings come out of it, it brings me on a musical high. The video was also very well made.

Marc Russell @ Marc Russell- Except for that it has nothing to do with Rome or its hour of power. It is a reference to Isaiah 60 and 61.... “Who are these [Jews] that go up to the windows like a dove....”. Some of us [Jews] have been doing this for over four decades now... “I’ve been flying....” When the spirit of HaShem causes one to “go up” and that one sees to the other side of the world in a nano second... “the seven eyes on the plumb line certainly help....”

In that moment, when I started listening to this song and immediately forgot who originally wrote and sang this song " Kashmir ". LED Zeppelin is one of my favorite music groups in the style of hard rock . The version of the song performed by Ofrou Hazeu with her beautiful melodious voice, I prefer for the soul )

Not many can beat her on that voice; it is unbelievable how she manage that full control over her voice....powerful in every tone...

I love this. I didn't think it would be possible without the riff or the drums, but it's amazing.
