In this hobby everyone is entitled to their own opinions and these are my opinions on the Sledge vs Kraton.
Both are awesome trucks BUT which one is more "Basher Ready" right out of the box?

Just got the sledge a few days ago. First run I broke the threaded end of the rear outer suspension pin. I’m glad they lowered the price to $699 instead of $799.
I have broken one of those a swell! Same i still feel like its over priced. Should be 600$
@@oahurc agreed. Maybe $650. But $699 is way more accurate than $799. Because the Arrma Talion is also $699 and I think Arrmas pricing is WAY more accurate than Traxxas. I used to have a Traxxas Hoss. Great little 10th scale 3s but $470. C'mon. I could get an Arrma granite for $140 less.
Those pins break a lot. It's a must to have the 16 dollar full pin kit on hand. And I am somebody that doesn't keep a lot of parts on hand. Still love my Sledge though.

Arrma kraton all the way. I've got 2 1/8 kraton's and one runs 8s system it's a beast 😊. Great video mate 👍😂😂

Hard to find unbiased videos, but you did a great job IMO. I assume some of the other videos are are just paid, or just specific individuals who are married to a brand per se. Something I have never understood. Enjoy all brands, have more choices and more fun. Edit: I ran a Kraton the other day and the motor felt really hot. It may be at a safe temperature at the heat I felt, but have you had any issues with the motor overheating? I thought about getting a fan and heatsink, but I would rather just leave it as is and save the money for when I break something.
Right ok I appreciate it man! I like all brands od cars and like to try them all out! They all have their own good and bad things about them! And my motor on my kraton usually gets pretty hot. I just check it after about 10 mins of use and let it sit if its really hot for a few min!
i like putting a nerf swimming noodle beneath the plastic body. works awesome and provides massive cushion

Headaches the first week isn’t good imo. The Kraton 6s servo 💩 the bed on the 4th day . The center front dogbone was warped . one of the rear wheels is really wobbly . Still she screams . I ll figure it out . Would take either tbh and be happy . She seems to be running better with a new servo and some adjustments . It’s a beast as you say

I have the Arrma Kraton EXB with a Castle Mamba Monster X 8s paired to the 1717 - 1650 kv motor, and a Savox 2290 servo and i dont use it. I think ive used it 5 times since i got it in the summer of last year. I got it so i could retire my Losi 3XLE. Now the Arrma and the Losi are retired. My go to electric RC is the Losi Super Rock Rey and i absolutely thrash on it. Breaking a tooth off of my pinion is the first breakage ive had in 2 years. Anything that has broke in the past has been modified or upgraded which isnt that long of a list.
Great vid i am leaning towards krayton $150 less than sledge. how much are replacement parts traxxas vs krayton?
Arrma parts a tiny but cheaper but around the same👍🏻
Whats more durable ? These 2 or HPI Savage x XL flux v2 or HPI Vorza S truggy ? Or any of those Kraton 6s ? Im trying to figure this out. I had a HPI Savage 4.6 Nitro and it was more then durable enuff for what I was jumping with it. I want a faster stronger one for next time and id love to hear from anyone who has tryed any of these. Thanks guys. !
I haven’t run a nitro car in some years because they are not good bashers. Too heavy and too fragile. I recommend switching to an electric vehicle like the arrma kraton👍🏻
@@oahurc Ya electric for sure. I just dont like how some of the engines on the kratons stick out of the chassis. One bad rock and thats it lol. At least with a savage everything is tucked in safely.

@@savagex466-qt1io i see. He has a larger motor in there thats why its close to the edge of the chassis. The kratons motor does sit close to the edge of the chassis but it doesnt hang over. Ive never had a rock or anything hit it🤙🏻
Love both trucks but I would definitely take the sledge over the kraton
Must be a luck thing with manufacturing, my buddy had his sledge since day 1, takes it to the skate park often but hasn't had to replace a single part. He cut the body right at the bumper just a little bit so it didn't catch and added washers to the wing so the bolts didn't pull through.
Thats pretty lucky! Does he actually send it? If i were to just do small jumps im sure it wouldn’t break😂
I'd say he keeps a max height at around 15 feet on concrete areas and does the occasional full send on grass landings.

Update on buddies Sledge. Day one out of box before he drove it... Added more 20 Mill to center diff, used a flat nail punch on each side of every dog bone pin, added O ring inside rear drive cups, 2 small washers on wing screws, cut body slightly just to clear front bumper, super glued every tire bead, blue loctite every screw, WD40 all the plastics before and after each run. (Says it helps keep the plastic flexible and clear of oxidation.)
Its hard to believe the Kraton is cheaper. I'll suggest to you an surprisingly tougher car for your channel. Look into the Typhon 6s its been more durable and flys further than my Kraton does.
Hey friend what is the most durable 1/8 th 6s truck or truggy ? I had a savage x 4.6 nitro back in the day and i loved it ! Was pretty tuff. Im wondering what is more durrable out of the box. The Hpi Savage x xl flux v2 or the Hpi Savage Vorza S truggy or the Kraton 6s ? ( i dont know much about the kraton models .. seems to be a few now ! ) I need help to decide.

I'd say you're just unlucky. I have beat the crap out of my slash and sledge and both are bone stock still. Aside from speed gearing
Thats what a lot of people are saying. Apparently traxxas has switched their material for their plastic? Idk but the sledge has been nothing but a headache
@@oahurcit seems with a m2c motor mount and m2c chassis the sledge def is much better we’re you doing extreme bashing when you first got it ?
@@travis-tg5cq yep very hard bashing. Big jumps to flat ground. Grass and concrete. With the m2c upgrades it handles all those jumps 💪🏻
