சென்ற வருடம் சென்னையில் தண்ணீர் பஞ்சம் வரும் என்று பல ஊடகங்கள் கூறினார் அதற்கேற்றார்போல மக்களின் மனதிலும் அந்த அலைகள் செல்லத் தொடங்கி அதையே நினைக்கத் தொடங்கினார்கள் அதேபோல தண்ணீர் பஞ்சமும் வரவழைக்கப்பட்டது எண்ணம் தான் வாழ்க்கை என்பதை இப்படியும் எடுத்துக் கொள்ளலாம் நாம் நினைப்பது நடந்து கொண்டுதான் இருக்கிறது அதை மாற்றிக்கொள்ளுங்கள் நினைப்பதை நல்லதாக நினையுங்கள் நல்லதே நடக்கும்.
i am using compressor pump in chennai 17 - here the water hardness is 1200 ppm. this is working well for more than 15 yrs.the cost of removing the submersible is high. where as even we can remove the foot valve of the compressor it is not heavy.

You couldn't be more wrong. Pulling the compressor pipe in case of repair work is relatively easy compared to pulling the submersible motor itself. Also, motor repair for the compressor motor is outside only.
And the salt content issue for the compressor is just the hose, in the case of the submersible motor the issue will be for the whole motor.
Can i use a compressor pump in a 2inch diameter borewell? I have been using a cri 1.5 hp two stage centrifugal pump with very less water flow of about 300-400 LPH. The water depth is 100 feet while the borewell is about 150-160 feet.
you can very well use. put the foot valve just f5 feet above- ie keep at 145 feet.@@hokz7283

Bro, submersible pump problems list below
1. As of July 2022, to lift the pump from the borewell charge is 2500 rupees. To put it back another 2500 rs in madurai. So for any small issue in submersible we have to spend 5000 rs minimum. This charge will increase as days go by.
2. Submersible pump may break and fall into borewell when lifting and if it happens, we cannot recover it. We have to place new pump in same borewell
3. Tree roots and mud sliding inside borewell are frequent issues in submersible pump.
Submersible pump is not peaceful solution as the builders and electricians say. Only advantage is the low power consumption for submersible.
Thank you for sharing your insight .. I coveyed in my point of view .. has seen struggles by many regarding with submersible pump .. and also as you said some had issues like soil erosion inside Borewell and sub motor can't be taken out ..Both has issues .. it all depends on our time ..

But one major drawback in Submersble motor is that when you run the submersble motor without ground water, it will become dead or need to be repaired frequently but in case of Compressor can run without ground water... All other points what you mentioned is right... I have constructed my own house and installed compressor only.

there are sensors available. when there is no water the load or amps will be less and will gets tripped. hence there is no prob. the submersibles are expensive , but compressors are less costly, but small prob of getting water and air.

Sir, U missed some drawbacks of submersible pump... It is a bit strange that the compressor makes the problem often rather than submersible, it is evident that submersible maintenance is very high compare to the compressor. The compressor is outdated but I cannot accept that submersible is best than the compressor. In my house ground water konjam kammi daan. Last month vara thanni vandichu but konjam slow va daan varum. Jet motor vachiruken which is attached to wall. So konjam wall adhirum.
Now got foot valve problem. Planned to change jet with submersible. But plumber said ground water already unga area la kammi. So submersible potingana keela thanni ilaama oduna motor repair aagirum. Ungalukku selavu daan so compressor poidunga nu sonnaru. Compressor sound romba varumeh nu yosikiren.

Please go with compressor pump, we had similar issue and we spend 1000s for repairing jet pump and finally got.it changed to compressor pump and no problem for past 3 years.
