eBay has a lot of cheap stuff, especially for game consoles. But at times they're so ridiculously cheap that you have to wonder what the quality is like or how useful they even are. So I've decided to buy a dozen accessories for PS4 and try them out. The results may NOT surprise you and end up being what you're totally expecting.

Dude, those stick tip covers are actually great. And you can get them in different heights too. Giving more precise movment. I know it sounds weird, but they work. And i got like 20 for 2 bux on wish. So worth it. They fit almost every controller, even the odd android controllers i have. Steam controller, xbox. .. just everything.

Those rubber caps for analogs are a life-saver if your analog isn't in good condition, I "resurrected" some dirt cheap controllers I found on the flea market, like, people selling them for 3 bucks just because of the bad condition of the rubber on the analog sticks.
I've been using these exact same thumb grips for almost 5 years now, and I've never had an issue with them sliding off.
Those analog stick grips are not bad. I use them because the original rubber wore off and the controller was uncomfortable to use. For $1 I didn’t need to open the controller or get a new one. Took about an hour to get used to, I don’t even notice it.
You should try the PS4 cooler stand with USB hub and two docking ports for controllers.... it's cheap 4 in 1 device or there are even better versions with PSVR stand + PS Move charger
Love that thing, although I'm highly skeptical the cooling fan actually does anything lol

Ps4 controllers are a little different now, they changed the analog sticks like a year or 2 ago. The rubber no longer wears off

The nubs imo are mainly for wear. Original PS4 analogs will wear and tear over time so people would buy these. I tried them cause my original ones did wear off a little bit and yeah just couldn't get used to it

I always use the cheap thumb stick covers just so the rubber on the thumb stick doesn’t get crazy worn out.
chatboost is great for adding battery life to your controller if and when it dies. The nubs... I usually use them to tell which controller I'm supposed to be using, also, if you have old analog sticks that got ruined, they fit right over em. The controller sleeve is mostly pointless, but if you have an elite controller it will actually keep the grips underneath from overheating and losing the adhesive.
The thumbpads are a major hit because the DS4's thumbsticks' rubber coating wears thin and tears off rather quickly. All 4 of my controllers have this problem and I don't even let so much as a speck of dust on them. It's a major design flaw, especially when compared to the DS3/2/1 as their sticks' rubber coating wasn't a thin cover; bonded via a tiny set of holes on the surface but the older controllers' sticks' rubber coating was actually part of the compound itself. Far better all around, I don't have a single DS3/2/1 with worn thumbsticks but again, every DS4 I've ever owned has had this problem within 1-2 years.
The worst part is if the rubber coating actually peels entirely off, most of these replacement thumbpads were designed with the original stick in mind so they're slightly too large and won't fit. Essentially, the instant you see a tear forming or even just the surface coming loose/peeling from the surface: get some replacement thumbpads ASAP and you should be ok. Otherwise it may as well be bricked-the plastic under the rubber coating is ungodly slick. Entirely useless without it. Personally, I got sick of purchasing new controllers at $65 a pop so thumbpads are a godsend, albeit not ideal by any stretch of the imagination.

Chatpads are great if you type alot of messages, the one i have is Bluetooth so I can use it with out having to have it plugged into my controller, I first got it for gta a couple years ago and keep it beside my tv remote in case I gotta send a quick message
Funny thing is that courrier services were you can buy something from Amazon and they resend it to your country that doesn't had Amazon take a whole month lol
For USB wired controller, you need to download and install the certain software while controller is connected to your pc, then it will work fine..Software name would be "Gator Claw" or something..

i have grips on my first ps4 controller back from 2014 because they we're ripping up and really works nice,the grips i have don't move anywhere i have another clean ps4 pro controller that i keep clean, i want that '' condom cover'' for my controller too 🤣🤣

I was wondering as well, I thought he was going to test it on PS3. On another note, I'm actually looking to buy a third party wire PS4 controller, since I don't really seat that far from my system and we can find wired one for at least half the price of the Sony DualShock4. Of course is a mixed bag when it comes to third party stuff, so I'm doing my research and reading reviews and whatnot. I narrowed down to two controllers, both of them the touch pad is just a button, so if you need to play a game that require the swipe of the touch pad like Killzone Shadow Falls for example, it won't work, but since the majority of games don't use that, is not that big of a loss.

The mic adjuster amd charging ports are probably the only "worth while" things. Having to reach up to your headset to mute or unmute as you stated may be inopportune in the middle of a match, so having right next to your hand would be useful depending on the scenario. As for the charging port the ones I have bought that were official from PlayStation broke on me too so Im kinda in the same boat as you where as long as it charges then I dont mind how low quality it feels lol.
Great review on the stuff I tend to have the same opinion on all the stuff, the chat pad I honestly just do all psn messages through the app myself so that would be useless, and all the othee accessories seemed really pointless especially the controller condom. And as for cheap controllers, Ive learned well enough from my wii days that nyko is a trash company for off brand controllers and ruined it for me, if they cant even get something as simple as a wii remote accurate then I would never trust a ps4 conroller to any other less heard of company. Its like pro controller for the switch, never buy a nock off the name brand ones are amazing.

The anolog stick covers are amazing, not only do you get better grip it protects the anolog sticks from damage

I got one because I had an overgripping problem and that helped allievate some of that

Fake PS controller is probably for PC. And the wheel is a kinda prototype a guy on Reddit made and everyone liked it but it does work. Chineses manufacturers made em to sell
Can confirm, I 3D printed one for myself, its free to download from thingiverse as well. Chinese manufacturers got them from there and now selling them. Anyway for racing games, it works and feels better than the thumbstick

I wonder if the fake PS controller would work better with computers than an actual dualshock 4. I like to plug a controller into my PC or Chromebook every once in a while but the dualshock 4 doesn't always play nice. I just can't bring myself to switch to an Xbox 360 controller, I love the dualshock's design.

In my experience I can’t stand the regular grip for the DualShock joystick and I played with the 360 controller, the cheap grips you bought for 1$ are like heaven to me, I guess I’m weird lol

the advantage of the charging dock from sony is that it does not overcharge the controller when the battery is full, it just stops charging.

They are, and contradictory to the video. They feel better than having the originals ( for me at least) and far far better than using the controller with ripped thumbsticks. I have a set of 20 of different colors. Been using them for a year now.
Raised ones make it easier to control and aim.

Ryan have you ever had a PS4 Scuf controller? I first got one in 2015 for competitive cod but I use them for every game now, I could never go back to a normal PS4 Controller.

The controlled condom works pretty well for me. Great grip and durability and I do just fine with it and it going flush with the buttons.

I would never use cheap very soft stuff like the controller condom esp. if it comes from china. These chemicals to make it soft can be quite dangerous.
i love those analog stick caps. i put them on all of my controllers
I would put those on *only* when the rubber on the sticks are withered
