Thanks a lot. This is my favorite of the videos I’ve put together. It’s probably too long, but I couldn’t cut it down further. Besides, it does include brief “tributes” to Fay Wray and Dwight Frye.
Very cool tribute to Dwight Frye's creepy character's @1:23 ...Renfield from "Dracula", Herman Gleib from "The Vampire Bat", "Fritz" from "Frankenstein" and the relentless reporter from "The Invisible Man"..
LOL! Frye was a phenomenal character actor for sure and I can see why it was a labor of love to put his offering to the genre together. This video is does the pre code horror films great justice and thank you so much for your contribution to this period of time. Those pre-code horror films were pretty risque for that time
@@dadoctah Unforgettable in the otherwise (mostly) forgettable “House of Dracula.” While Knaggs is outside the purview of pre-Codes, it would be fun putting together a tribute to him. I’ll see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion.
Kevin what are the last two clips in this video. (1) Screaming and armadillos (the screaming is from the King Kong soundtrack but that's not King Kong.) (2) Fay Wray closing the door Seductively
You are the first person to point out the fun I had with the audio. (Like at the clip’s beginning, I have the Universal globe spinning with the RKO radio audio). The scream is indeed from Kong, but the armadillos are from Dracula (1931). Why armadillos in Dracula? Who knows, but they are there and always make me laugh, hence why I included them in the video. Fay, in color, closing the door is from Dr. X (1932).
la scène choisie de " docteur JEKYLL " ( deleted scene ! ) n'est pas une scène d'horreur , juste sexy , et puis , elle est coupée trop court , comme ça elle ne fait aucun effet . et on voit à peine Fredric MARCH ...

The actor who played Renfield in Dracula was outstanding!
I agree, Dwight Frye is terrific as Renfield. Should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor. And won.
Excellent editing. Always a pleasure to see an appreciation of the authentic era of cinema...
They don't even come close to making movies like these classics anymore! Thanks for the vid! 👍!
That maniacal laugh at 1:43 could give someone chills even today. 😮👻
Hard to beat Dwight Frye in "Dracula' (1931).
Great stuff. Love those old horror films. The monsters were believably human. Even King Kong had human traits.
Fabulous, as usual.
The Invisible Man unwrapping still hold up pretty well today.
Thanks again
I'm glad you liked the video. It's my favorite and was really fun to edit together. Thanks.
I`m 63 years old and have seen a lot in my life....real and fanciful. But nothing frightened me like this horror flics!
I grew up with these films too, and love them. This video is too long, but I just couldn't help myself. The original cut was over 20-minutes.
"RATS" "BATS" "NICE SOFT BATS" & "BLOOD HOUNDS" ...What an awesome tie in to Dwight's memorable furry friends caught on film.
this took me to another place... was startled when it ended
I’m glad you liked it. Among the many criticisms I get on this video is that it’s too long.
Your editing is always great - this was brilliant. I had chills the whole way through. It feels like it’s own movie……

I adore everything on this Brillant channel.
Wow, thank you! Your comment made my week, and it’s only Monday. Thanks again.

08:55 Oh God, that is the blood curdling scream from the original King Kong. It's been re-used over and over.
Outstanding job.
Thanks for showing this to me, brings back a lot of Saturday mornings as a kid! Yep, good ol' letch King Kong!
These movies came on Saturday mornings?! All I grew up with were cartoons and live-action kids shows.

Thanks. The Frye tribute was probably the most fun part to put together.

@@michiganjfrog At some point in the future, I look forward to a shorter but similar tribute to Skelton Knaggs.

@@michiganjfrog According to industry censors, rats were considered “bad theater”. So they weren’t allowed to use rats.
Some of this stuff of the pre code, would get a 12 a or a pg 13 even today.
Maybe a PG if it was suggestive enough that younger viewers didn't pick up on it.
Bravo!
Thanks!

Does anyone know what movie the snake choking the guy is from?
That's from the film "Murders at the Zoo" (1933).
@@michiganjfrog thank you so much 🙏
Hilarious
What's the film at 6:16
Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933)
1:44 what movie is this?
That's Dwight Frye in Dracula (1931)
Just random scream scenes isn’t doing any of these justice. You need to show a little more so that the atmosphere can be understood properly
Not going to list the films? Really?
