Nice job Tom. A handy tool...I love my SWAG Offroad saw stand. One suggestion I have if you want to pass it on to your customer. Skip locking the trigger, and plug the saw into a foot switch instead. Leaves both hands free at all times, and if you have a "oh shit moment" the saw shuts off immediately after you take your foot off the pedal. No fumbling around for a rocker switch or yanking a cord out of the outlet.
@@hilltopmachineworks2131 They're available from SWAG, Amazon, Ebay, etc.... I'd attach a link, but I've found the UA-cam admins must not like that, and nuke the reply.
Nicely done, Tom. I had one of these for my Milwaukee Portaband, before I got the bigger band saw. One unexpected downside was that I wiped out a set of bearings after only a couple dozen uses. Having it vertical let me put too much pressure on the blade, I guess.
Glad the wife is doing well. Always nice to see another way to hold a Porta-bans
Thanks Michael. 👍
Seems like a platen would be the main reason to mount it. Shows what I know! You got it done. 😎
Yea we will see if he changes his mind or not.
I made one of those for my shop. It's great for cutting small parts!!
Cool. Like you said perfect for small stuff when you don't need a big saw.
Scrap! My favorite subject. Glad the Mrs is recovering nicely. Great project Tom!
Yes sir! I figured you could relate. 😀

Thanks Kev. Scrap is about all anyone can afford now days. Material prices are so high.
I had one of those saws. I used one of the SWAG stands. In fact I gave it to Michael Hale after I built my converted Craftsman band saw
I think I remember it. It was on the table close to the shop door right?

Good idea on the foot switch. I will suggest it to him when he comes today and picks it up.

Thank you Robert. Interesting the Milwaukee gave up that quickly.
