Hey almost in my neck of the woods up in Dallas. Btw you gave me some advice in a live stream to go all in on training. My last day at work is tomorrow and start my full time program next week. Thanks for the advice and great content. 39.5 hours in and excited to get things moving
I'm 31 and i start tomorrow. I got about half of my private done paying out of pocket and realized, after a little encouragement from Thomas and some others, full time is the way to go. The younger you start the better, obviously, but i know people in their 50s working on their ATP with the major airlines as their end goal. Get that 1st class medical and get into a program asap if you can
Love these types of videos bro. No fancy editing, just raw content. Especially when the car and jet content sector is flooded with overhyped editing and no real look into the true reality of the experience - thats why I love your channel!
I really enjoyed some of that "outside-of-aircraft" footage. It's also nice to meet some of your industry-related friends and partners. Neat video. Happy landings to one and all!
I’ve done video production for over 2 decades. Mainly as a cameraman. You remind me of a technical director. They know all the plane/broadcast truck stuff and expect the crew to be doing their jobs and let them know when it’s not working and how to problem solve or go beyond. The thing is, the director kind of knows what to expect from a crew member may have done one or two of their jobs early on, but can’t fill in if needed. Reminds me how pilots know enough to know what level is wrong but have no idea how to fix it.
Another great video. I love the laid back but serious attitude in the cockpit. Texas is a wide state. 😆 I drove across it several times in my former life as a truck driver, and your right there is a whole lot of nothing out in West Texas. If you like great Texas chilli there is or was a little dive just off of I 10 in comfort TX. That had incredible chilli. It was just a little white building all by itself just off the frontage road.
Awesome video, the Quality just keeps getting better and better, with Brett outside it gives another dimension, and did you switch out cams? The instruments aren't flickering anymore 😍💪🏽 and DJI Osmo Pocket in front 🤌🏽 shits getting serious! 😁 Keep it up! Looking forward to Wheels down content as well
Next time you get into Chino take some time and go to Adventure Air. Meet up with Henry and try and get a little flight time in the gyro plane you'll have a blast.
excuse all my questions I've been binge watching aviation videos 1. is it true as a private pilot you have to prep the food, lav, fuel, check engines, and basically everything a major carrier has some position full-time position for? 2. are you more likely to be operating on 6 hours of sleep a day as a private because you have to get to the plane earlier because of everything above^ ( This question comes from a netjet pilot doc on how they're overworked and underpaid compared to their major airline colleagues) 3. how involved are you in the maintenance or knowledge of? Do you just fly any plane or do you need to know pretty much everything about whats been done to it, whos touched it, etc? Same with security of the plane, are you ever concerned it just left sitting on a runway with only a chain link fence protecting it? 4. Do big planes really have the technology to bring you within 100 feet of the runway with little to no stick play? I watched a pilots video on why he went from private to commercial and he said private small airports your legit flying in and out of all on the stick and controls while big planes is just like auto pilot then 1 minute of stick handling at landing and take off.
Great video as usual. I have a question, do pilots usually have to check the oil like you did or did you do it because you know how to work on planes? Really enjoy how much detail you go into then just flying the plane.
I don’t mean to be a downer, but I’ve been av interested since I was a kid. The same week as the FL Challenger crash, I drove by the same model sitting on ramp the next time zone over. After watching the actual crash vid, it hit hard. I was a news photog for 2 decades and have been to Joplin 2 hrs after the tornado so I’ve seen some stuff. It’s always good until it’s not. Safety mindset, ability, knowledge, and experience are so key. I find your videos interesting not just for av interest but also who decides to spend wild amounts of $ for a single flight. I live behind a high end home products place and those folks spend $10k for 3 patio chairs like it’s no big deal.
Yeah it’s pretty crazy! Thanks for supporting this channel though! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. The challenger crash… that’s a whole nother subject 😢
I always love your music choices, man! If you dont mind me asking, how many days a month do you work on average as a contract pilot? And thanks for the content!
Bro it would be so awesome to fly with you. I am a CFI and thinking I want to go the private route instead of the airlines, also I worked at Signature so know the flow of how to get catering and prepping the A/C and having everything ready when the pax get there.
Hey! I’ve just started watching some of your videos and would love to learn what steps you have to take to get the correct training to do what you do and be able to fly commercial planes as well! Any advice is helpful!
Hey, recently found your channel and I really enjoyed your work. Can you make a video explaining how you got to where you are and any tips you have for people wanting to learn about how to become a contract pilot. Thank You!
Which Rolls Royce engines do you have in this G4? Rolls Royce 611-8Cs? Also when you add engine oil to the Jet engines does it need be put in the log books?
How is the contract business with gauges? Obviously tattoos are becoming more acceptable but I used to have 00 sized gauges and I took them out last year to clean myself up a bit. Just kinda want to wear them again 😅
I want this so bad bro.. all your vids have been so inspirational. Oddly I just quit my job to do Aircraft Detailing at Palm Beach International so I can meet more people and learn more about Aircrafts. Been trying to get into ATP Flight school but the funds aren’t there right now, do you have any recommendations of any scholarships or other ways to fund it? I live in Delray Beach, FL. Thank you!!
@@gear_down thanks for the input. I’m trying to finish up commercial currently and Cfi before the summer. Everyone wants to rush off to the airlines but the corporate/private world just looks so much more appealing.
What’s with the trump gold bar? Is there an inside joke I don’t know about? I’ve only just started watching your videos so I might be missing something…
@@gear_down amen to that.. I fly a Lear 60 out of Hobby, million air based. That Gulfstream check list and flow is nuts. The overhead panel adds a whole extra layer of confusion 🤯
Got my Bags and patch -- One is for the Boy's B-Day on 3/10 He took his first flight in 2022 with Civil Air Patrol and then became touched by the flight bug [ua-cam.com/video/dY1l6hIYrDI/v-deo.htmlsi=Jq4jg7JFR_Tifc72] He is also hooked on this channel with me! Thanks man! Im a crappy editor hahahah
No fancy editing? I would say hearing the audio while watching the plane takeoff is pretty damn fancy (but not flashy).
These videos are definitely not boring.... Keep em coming Capt!!! Cheers!
Thank you!
Passed my CFII bro! Tryna get to the big leagues asap!!
Congrats man!
Big congrats man!!
The cross over between the audio and the outside videos on take off was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love watching all your content. I learned to fly as a young guy and gave it up but am getting enthused all over again, thanks!
Wow that’s great to hear, now is the perfect time to hop back in!
Nice clearance pick up. Great to see a video of you going to my home city. Thank you for the amazing content.
Thanks
Tommy your content is the best mate... so many good shots. You sure take the time to make top notch content unlike so many other influencers nowadays.
Thanks man! I consider myself to be a terrible cameraman and editor!
It's always nice not having to use the tilt and range when flying into Houston. Great video.
Hahah we got lucky with a clean approach ;)
Always a good watch, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it

Love the G4 videos man, that plane is fun to watch.
Was literally waiting so long for your next video bro

That approach and landing was cleeeeeeeean. 😎

Thumbs up for the voice over, geniuses
Looks nice. I’m almost finished with my G450 type at CAE in DFW. Fun plane to fly.

Living the dream man, hopefully one day I'll be there also.

First time tuning into your channel, and I gotta say, I was expecting a flight journey, but whoa, didn't see you piloting the plane! 😲🛩
Thanks for checking it out! Hope you subscribed ;)

Instruments only flicker when it’s bright outside and the camera has to adjust for the lights! Thanks for watching this one I’m glad you enjoyed it!!!
Great landing!
Enjoyed the video. Love Gulfstream jets!
Glad you enjoyed!
Always great stuff

Great video as usual. I have a question, do pilots usually have to check the oil like you did or did you do it because you know how to work on planes? Really enjoy how much detail you go into then just flying the plane.
Normally pilots are supposed to check at the end of every flight or couple of flights
@@gear_down gotcha. Thanks

0:08 Bro, all those white packages make the back of your car look like Pablo Escobar was doing business back there, 😂
Welcome to Houston.
My goal after my commercial training is to move back home to California and hopefully network my way to you at KCNO one day! 😅🚀
Paint looks good.
💕
You got me thinking of doing corporate instead of airlines lol. Maybe do a video on corporate flying vs airlines?
Bro it would be so awesome to fly with you. I am a CFI and thinking I want to go the private route instead of the airlines, also I worked at Signature so know the flow of how to get catering and prepping the A/C and having everything ready when the pax get there.

There’s a video explaining just this on my channel :)
Another banger 🤟🏼
Thanks man!
We had a hell hole on the 787 too, is the Jack screw and APU back there as well? Good vid dude as always
Thank you man!
can I ride along in the rolls-royce? 😂Nice video
Maybe!
If you could check the oil level cold then why wouldn’t they just give you a cold temp number to go by?
I explained this pretty well in the video
Which Rolls Royce engines do you have in this G4? Rolls Royce 611-8Cs?
Also when you add engine oil to the Jet engines does it need be put in the log books?
We do keep an oil consumption log in the plane.
@@gear_down cheers thanks for the reply.

woah, Shiny Jets Dallas😉
👀
Did you get your Piper Arrow sold .?
Working on getting my ppl on my 17th birthday, any tips to help with cost?
Thanks
Did you get you A&P license before all your flying or viceversa?
One day I want to go on one of your flights
👍👍👍
Gear down the 🐐🐐🐐👑
Gracias!
Whats a man gotta do to fly with you? Currently building time flying King Airs but my end goal is to fly Gulfstreams! Love the content!
Keep building those hours! 💪 thanks for watching
Nice video as always. And I like your little plated Trump sign upfront. Safe flights.
Is that a Gold Trump bar? haha. Awesome
How is the contract business with gauges? Obviously tattoos are becoming more acceptable but I used to have 00 sized gauges and I took them out last year to clean myself up a bit. Just kinda want to wear them again 😅
I have a 3/4 traditional Japanese tattoo which I planned so I hide it!
You don't lock the door to the cockpit for safety reasons?
It’s a private jet.
Always wanted to ask about jets do jets need oil changes after a certain amount of hours completely change fluid and filters.
Yes they do
KHOU is 35 miles from me. And yes, Texas is rather large.
Texas is the best though! Cheers!
If you are flying are you required to have two pilots, and if you are flying by yourself how do you go to the bathroom?
You Get up and go to the bathroom lol
Do you need paint on that hatch?
Nah

Houston? Should have got at me. I’m at IAH
Wow you are so cool
🧊 😎
Did you fly for an airline before
is the gulfstream yours, or your clients
What’s up with that paint flaking off?
its an old plane lol
Weird how the FAA operate in the US, traffic cleared to land and you are still lining up or on the runway.
If they didn’t do that delays would be monstrous
Brett is my freakin guy
Do you think the contract pilot industry will ever get too saturated?
Doubtful not enough people are willing to risk the money it takes to contract full time

why such low quality ??

better now , thanks@@gear_down

Lots of stuff going on while you’re flying 275 a couple thousand feet off the ground
@@gear_down amen to that.. I fly a Lear 60 out of Hobby, million air based. That Gulfstream check list and flow is nuts. The overhead panel adds a whole extra layer of confusion 🤯
The dust on the screens is triggering my OCD 😂
Haha they get dusty in 5 minutes after cleaning. It’s the sheepskin on the cockpit seats. They create so much dust
