so as a veteran all i had to do was the online portion and then mail a request form with my dd214 along with my online safty course cert to ffwc. no field day required.

The gold Sportsman is only for military personnel
Incorrect. I get it every year. Theres 2 gold sportsmans, The “Annual resident” Gold Sportsman & The military has the “Military” Gold Sportsman.
For some reasons it's saying nothing about the first step, it just says to complete the 100 percent free online nra course and then schedule a field day but says nothing about registering for a field day in the very beginning before doing the free online course.

Is the in person field day mandatory? Are they any military or law enforcement wiavers ?

How do things work with Hogs???
Hogs are an invasive species and can be hunted with no license. But if your hunting on public land you will need your WMA stamp and follow the rules , regulations & seasons of each area.
Private land you can hunt hogs all year round with owners permission.
I would read each WMA’s regulations before going out.

To hunt hog and all small game you need a hunting license. Just no stamps. You need the stamps for deer birds and shit. But you definitely do need your hunting license to hunt hogs

On most wildlife management areas (WMAs), wild hog hunting is allowed during most seasons, except spring turkey season. A hunting license is never required, but a management area permit is usually required,

what if you wanted to hunt like a squirrel rabbit or raccoon?
You still need a license.. and squirrel and rabbit are considered “small game” which there is a season for.
I took the hunter course now it tells me i need to take the skills day course. I registered for it but it didn't tell me where I needed to go. Are they supposed to see me an email or do i need to call the number?
Its online. Your assigned instructor should of sent you an email with full instructions.
