Hi definitely need these exercise. Thank you
Thank you I will try what I can but, my knees are bad so limits some of these. There is not much Range of Motion in my knees apparently this problem has caused knee problems too because this was not diagnosed until after I had two knee surgeries but, I’m not giving up.
Hi, i'm 23 years old and today i've learnt how to sit
strigon46 I believe 23 is too late
@@awildgrendel7148 too late for what?
@@awildgrendel7148 I'm 28, since I've started to do lower back excercises daily and trying out tips like in this video, I've had little to no pain finally for years. My overall posture is still fucked up but it is never late to start to learn these things.
Lmao I learned at 26
i'm 23 too. making websites since 15.
and sitting wrong for 8 years hurts -_- so we need a fix
What he said about people with body awareness tend to scoot their butt back while sitting, thinking they are maintaining good posture is spot on!
Can confirm, was for me exactlylike he described, now i know how to sit correctly :D
Facts especially a lot of girls
Yep. Same here
Did this for a year at work and now my back is fucked by APT. Gonna start sitting like this to hopefully fix it
So right. Internet is a dangerous place.
Thanks for this info. I definitely have APT. I'm age 61 and I've been a truck driver since the '80s. I was taught a long time ago in order to correct back problems such as spasms, I needed to train my back with a cushion in the lower back and my hips all the way backk. The result has been APT.
I really hated looking at myself in the mirror because I at your age was in top shape too. I guess over time life got in the way. I'm trying hip flexor stretches in addition to what you are demonstrating in your videos.
It's great news that I can correct it. I was worried that it was simply due to my age and a life of sitting at the wheel.
Thank you for your contributions
Dave
Thanks for your impressive comment, Dave! How has your back been after switching your way of sitting?
Easiest solution - Stick a jacket / jumper / cushion / pillow at the front of the chair, so that its kind of situated just behind your knees. Your legs will be slightly elevated and your pelvis will be forced to tilt upwards (into more neutral position). If you have problems with APT you will instantly feel the stretch in the tight lower back muscles. After a while they will loosen and relieve your APT a bit. This also works if you are a back sleeper (sleep on your back). Stick a pillow under your knees to neutralise your pelic position.
Good thinking mate
Underrated comment. This also helps instant back relief
I was just going to ask if there was a prop to use in a chair to help in the beginning! You read my mind and thank you so much 😘
Would this not tighten your hip flexors more?
Harry Browning I guess if your are working on stretching them also should help no?
Anterior pelvic tilt gets the views lol
GuerillaZen: "People that are aware of their posture think this is good"
Me: *sweats intensely*
35 years old and I just learned how to sit properly! Thank you!
55 and I just learnt how to sit - Simple and brilliant - Totally got rid of my backache straight away - huge thank you!
wow good to hear, how long did it take?
OMG!!! He is talking about me! As long as I can remember myself, this is exactly what I did when sitting (sticking my butt out). Everyone is telling you not to slouch and sit with straight back, and I thought arching my back and sticking my butt out means sitting with straight back. You cannot believe how this video is helpful to me! Having sat with anterior pelvic tilt posture all my life (I am 36 now) makes me feel like I am slouching when I sit straight. I no longer understand how to sit normally. Absolutely loooooove this video!!! Super needed and super helpful!
37. Dealt with apt for years. Today I begin fixing it. Watched the video and saved the link. Thank you.
Btw, dig the name GUERRILLA ZEN
Ive had apt since about 13 and I'm 24.. Your videos help a lot man I hope I can fix this
Make an overall ergonomics video (by the computer, sleeping, phone use etc.) :)
Peter Griffin This!
Ah peter you have finally decided to lose weight? Does Lois approve?
Have a look at mine!
this video is superb. As most of the people ask to go back the chair and sit. But this explains the entire body connection when sitting properly. Thanks for doing this video.
I sat like this for 10 min. Woke up out of a coma after 8 months do to lack of oxegen to my brain.
I hope you are feeling better, and keep trying, never give up!!
Wait are you serious???
Thank you for this easy video that helped my "mental trigger" to sit properly. Trying to battle chronic ATP from yearssss of improper training. This helped a bunch.
This guy actually nailed this with me lol! I thought I was so aware of my posture! Hahaha...killed my hamstring!
Thank you so much. Finally, someone who understands.
There is a second problem with sitting upright in a chair, as GuerrillaZen Fitness suggests. The problem is that most people cannot hold the upright position for more than 15 minutes before starting to slouch again. The solution is to fold a pillow so that it fits into the arch of your back so that a person can sit upright for longer periods of time. Lee Albert of the book "Live Pain Free" discusses this solution.
Oh my goodness, 3 years late to this video but so glad I found it. Thank you for stopping my bad habit that I didn't even realize was a bad habit before I made my posture even worse!
I think this is how I gave myself pelvic tilt... I was so aware of my posture so I over compensated like you stated in this video.. Pretty wild! Thanks for the great content
OMG thank you. I only found out today that "sit bones" are even a thing! As a naturally skinny person I have always sat with a very curved back to avoid the pain of sitting on them. I was trying to find out how to stop sliding out of my chair due to this. A site I found had a weird little marking under the thigh and it explained that you should be sitting over the sit bones. This blew my mind. Apparently all you normal people don't feel like you're playing a game of bloody knuckles with your chair.
Modern day problems: sitting wrong.
Didn't ppl have to sit before modern days?
Mr. Calmer not to the extent we are now, no. Most people built muscles naturally by being alive and nothing being automated.
Mr. Calmer in the past century the amount of time the average person sits increased greatly
you can fight on the wild if u want to, but i'm pretty sure u won't go to africa to do it. thanks
causes serious back problems later in life..
Thanks so much! Really working on some of my posture and habit problems during quarantine. A lot of the people that think they weren't blessed with good looks just never realize what they're doing wrong, that might be causing some faulty posture and bone structure.
Best explanation and the most simple and valuable instructional advice.
This is so true about posture and making it worse. I started going to the gym and learning about posture 18 months ago, i also have a desk job. Soon after i started correcting my shoulder posture ive been getting lower back pain. Its got to the point now where pull days are getting impossible due to pain.
that squeezing buttmuscles and core - trick was amazing. I am a fit guy with very tight hamstrings and I noticed the difference in sitting position right away
this is very very simple and useful, It does feel wired at the beginning. But I can feel the difference between instantly. Thank you so much
The free workout on your website is really good. 👌
You just helped me correct something after 30 years. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to put this together! Very informative and helpful!
I think about this all the time when working at my desk, didnt know if I should be sitting with butt out or forcing it in the opposite for my apt. great thanks for this.
the beginning scared me so much that my Anterior Pelvic Tilt became a Posterior Pelvic Tilt!
Very nice and informative
Got to learn alot
Thanx for helping
Needed this badly
Thanks lildicky
Wow he does look like him lol
This was helpful, the observation about people with APT being prone to misguided overcompensation was spot on, its exactly what I've been doing for years...but Jaaaysus why was this video so long?
Also a more level camera angle would be helpful. :)
In any case, thank you for taking the time to make this video. :)
I keep this in mind how to sit in the proper position, thank you!love it
very insighful, thanks a lot, have been doing this and i have hyper lordosis bec im v conscious about my posture. now i knew how to correct it, thnx a lot
How come every time he said butt it was in all caps
I love ass
@@GuerrillazenFitness Your ass is fantastic. Made me stay till the end of the video.... along with all the useful information of course :)

Wow, I totally do exactly what you demonstrated at the beginning. This was really helpful, thank you.
I have this problem too and despite all my flexibility training, I could not touch my toes or do a squat properly. I've found to fix the two latter problems, you need to change your sitting habit too: whenever possible, try sitting with your legs stretched out and at 90° to your torso and try to slide down a wall into a slavic squat and stay there as long as you can.
Thank you this was exactly what happened to me and this video was very useful for me having to sit a lot of time during the day!
Do you have any tips for how to maintain this position? I've known that I have to sit like this for years, but I can't train myself to keep doing it.
Standing near the wall. All back side of the body from toes to the top of head should be stocked to the wall. Standing for time. 1 min. 2 min... 10 min and so on and so forth.
Discipline?
Its like smoking. I used to say "after that Im quiting" but I did not want to quit. Only through discipline you can do anything pretty much and with Gods help if you want it of course. God bless.
Flex your abs and your butt, tilt your pelvis forwards a few degrees.
same
Great video - pain immediately went away and now I really know what to do! Thank you GuerillaZen!!
I've been doing this regularly as I already knew the problem quite well and it is a great way for students to avoid back problems.
Big fan of your content, improved my body position in two month with your stretches. I found out though that crucial for sitting and keeping posture up also helps to keep stomach sucked in
Immediate relief for my back strain. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I have herniations, and all correct sitting videos made me sit wrong with the hip exagerated in the wrong direction, further deteriorating my condition.
Very helpful material!
It depends on what is causing the anterior pelvic tilt. If the person has osteoarthritis in the hip joint, then the person cannot sit upright, as suggested in the video, but can only sit in a slouched position because the person has lost his range of motion, and the femoral head starts hitting on the socket as the person attempts to sit upright.
Instructions not clear. Squeezed my core and butt cheeks and now there is shit all over my room.
starpravesh Hahaha wtf xD
omfg I lol so hard
i just fucking died after reading this comment. lmfao!!!!!!
hahhahahaha
hahah wtf!!!! lol
Ok so today was the first day i actually felt my weight on my "sit bones" while sitting. Im heft and have lived with an extreme APT for a long time. So thank you for your video. Its going to take a lot of work to fix
I just realized after probably 20+ years that I have anterior pelvic tilt. Always wondered what was going on and what my lower back issues were.
Awesome video!! I like the way you explain and demonstrate.
primary school messed my back up ffs
one problem when trying to find a good office chair (because your job requires sitting) is that most "ergonomic" office chairs actually encourage anterior pelvic tilt.... especially for those of us that deal with it
I try so hard to do this but as soon as I get distracted with actually working or if I get in any way anxious or tired.... back I go to the sitting with my butt sticking out 😩
Yeah, I'm trying my best right now, but it hurts to sit like this...
@@AndreaMartinez-ip2vu Are you able to sit like this for long time
@@143varunsherke2 I tried it and you honestly can't. But maybe I need to try harder?

Wow - This was a much needed video! Thank you!
I am diagnosed with the reduced lumbar lordosis curvature , namely posterior pelvic tilt. I was gymnast in my early yeas. Now, I have pain in the lumbar spine, My doctor says it's no fixable. Do you have some advice for me, how to sit, stand , some exercises.
Great video!! 100% true... And remember to get up and move around a bit 💃🏻🕺🏼every 30 min while you're sitting 😅
I feel that what helps me is letting my back relax and curve slightly but not to the extent that im slouching....just enough that my lower back is straight and not curved.
Thank you, I just couldnt sit any other way🙏
Very good video. Thank you
what's your opinion on lumbar pillows? I have one for my recliner & my wheelchair, I have cerebral palsy & I sit alot so I need back support
Good video Master !!
Also, when we take rest by sticking our back to the chair while keeping our hips stick to the pit of the chair, that is a bad thing as well!! Thanks for the video.
great video! helped a lot! keep up the good work pal
Great information thankyou
Awesome video!! I really sat the way you demonstrated because I am too aware of my posture. I get shoulder pain when I sit in that anterior pelvic tilt position. Do you think there is a connection between the shoulder pain behind the neck and sitting with anterior pelvic tilt?
best UA-cam physio. Hands down
Am I glad I found you.
this help me a lot , thank u , greeting from Taiwan
Excellent advice - It makes sense - Thank you
80k subs! Hell yeah! Good job Blake!
I need a video on how to ergonomically sleep at my desk whilst at work
any tips on how to get poo out of an office chair?
Aleksander Eeri Laupmaa Just swap it!
Yes! You lick it 😘
Once you wash the brown out leave it in the sun. Radiation will sterilize it.
Throw the chair from the building
EAT ITTTTT
I found that a foam roller helped me out. I put the roller on the chair seat its self so that it supports my pelvis. I can't lean back and relax anymore but it's making me sit up more.
Not sure if it's good, but my hip flexors seem to feel better.
Amazing, thank you so much!much love, keep the great work!
thank you so much for this. it's awesome - you really know your stuff!
You are right. I sit with that arch in my back. Thanks for your advice!
I tried out using lower back cushions but my lower back hurt so bad at the end of the days that now I'm here. This makes a lot of sense though it's weird that everyone promotes the back cushions. I guess they're just not for everyone.
Useful video. Anything to say about upper body and arms? Thanks.
SHOULDER REHAB/PREHAB VIDEO PLEASE, BEST EXERCISES ETC when i do dips my right shoulder hurts and i love dips idk If its shoulder impingiment but i need help! kb, bands, Dumbells, please make.a video to fix shoulder pain/impingiment!!?

Needed this! Thanks.

Very useful. Thank you
Holy shit that works!! Thanks Blake!!
Thanks for sharing! Good first impression - hope i will be consistent
This is literally my problem. Thanks for the video!!
Awesome video dude.... i so needed this. Thanks man. Wish i was close to you. I would 100% hire you to fix my back as my problems are exactly what you're talking about regarding the ATP and weak core muscles and back pain right in that spot you talk about. Is there anyway you can help me remotely? Would love to send you my contact info. Thanks!
Such a simple thing but this helps, thanks!
Tips for what to do while standing?
Excellent exercise thank you.
great advice as always
Thanks alot bro😭😭❤
How should I be sitting on my couch? I am 6 foot tall and my legs are too long to sit like this. And because the seat cushioning is so soft I tend to sink into anterior pelvic tilt naturally. I can put an office chair in my living room but I want to be sitting comfortably on the couch too, to watch a movie or game for a few hours. So, how can I game and watch tv without ruining my posture even more while being allowed to relax?
Edit: very helpful video by the way. Easy to understand. Thank you!
