I have this Model too and I have had it over 17 years and it still works great. I paid then $250 brand new from a Company in NYC. I had a Dual 1019 Turntable that I had for over 25 years or more.
I have the same Turntable, but it's been in storage for years, I'm planning on getting it serviced soon and to start playing my vinyl again, can't wait 👍
Got one of these at an estate sale for thirty bucks. It totally needs a new belt, but other than that looks to be in pretty good condition. Little worried that I might need a new cartridge because it was stored in a basement, but mainly I'm trying to figure out the amp setup. Any advice/recommendations on that?
I just bought one and I’m running it through an old technics receiver I had on hand. If you find an old receiver with a phono input it SHOULD have a built in phono pre-amp which will get you started. Just make sure you ground it or you’ll get a nasty hum!
Do you have the service manual ? One of my friend have one that the arm doesn't goes back. It's another brand but I guess the mechanism should be the same. It probably missed a part under a plastic gear ... but we don't know what Thanks
Sound is low because it is not amplified. You can use a stereo receiver to connect the turntable. If the stereo receiver has a phono output in the back then there is not need for a preamp. If there is a phono output it means that the receiver has a preamp built in. If you don't have a phono output then you can connect to aux output but you will need a preamp also. If you don't the sound will be low.
You "need" a pre-amp for this turntable unless you are running a 30 yearold receiver with a PHONO-IN RCA connection. I use a "ART DJPREII Phono Preamplifier" Its cheap but effective. I have this very turntable...bought it in the mid 80's.

Where did you get the new dust cover? I have an SL-BD26 and SL-BD27 that both need them. Thanks

Hi, did you connect it to a pre-amp and then to the speakers? Im connecting mine directly to a speaker and the sound is so low
