I knew this was the right video for me! Thank you Kenny! And I hope you'll allow me to give something back... An old family story, from my childhood. Every Thanksgiving, everybody knew the turkey neck was for my grandpa, or so I thought. No one ever touched Grandpa's neck till whoever was serving made a show of bringing Grandpa his plate with his turkey neck nicely dressed up with all the other trimmings. Well, one Thanksgiving, I was maybe 8 or 9, one of the aunts (great-aunts to me, wife of one of Grandpa's brothers) said she'd make the turkey that year. My grandma was getting older, maybe was ailing. Anyway, this aunt kindly cooked the turkey for the whole family. Come serving time, someone brought Grandpa his plate, all dressed nicely as usual. We waited for him to start the meal. Instead, he got this look on his face like nothing I'd ever seen before. He looked like a little kid who was about to cry. Next, we heard him bawl out: Where's my neck! What happened to my neck! Everybody turned to look at The Aunt, who had turned scared-looking and red-faced. "Why, it's in the gravy, Eli," she said. She looked so shocked and bewildered, and he looked so disappointed, that no one dared to say another word. But she never cooked the turkey again. After that, my mother always cooked it, and Grandpa's neck always ended up on his dressed-up plate, where it belonged. Thanks again, Kenny, for sharing your special recipe. It felt so sweet to be reminded again of my grandpa. I've always remembered that awful day, when Grandpa's neck disappeared into the turkey gravy, and for years, as long as I cooked a whole turkey, I always kept the neck out and served it as a treat. I'm old now, and we no longer need a whole turkey anyway, so I usually just roast some thighs. But after seeing some necks for sale in the butcher's case, I'm looking forward to making us a plate of turkey necks & rice for our weekend after Thanksgiving leftovers dinner, thanks to you. You've inspired me! And I wish you a very happy holiday season. 🤗
Hey Kenny! Omg, I love some good Turkey Necks in gravy. That Turkey Neck Plate looks amazing. 👍 I wish I could taste one of those. 😂 You're making me hungry.😆 Thanks for sharing Kenny. Have a blessed day. 🙏 💘
Nice video and the Turkey necks look delicious! However the speaker is making the cook sound not clear and sounds far away. The speaker need to be adjusted on the canera. Turkey necks looks DELICIOUS! Will definitely be making them one day for the family dinner. And I cover my meat while cooking. 😁💖
