    Thanks for the tour Mick! Great plants and some are very unusual, love them.

    Mick, I would say that you have a slug issue and that is what is nibbling at your plants. It was hard to tell but the plants that had the discoloration that you said were spiders might actually be spider mites. As for Identifying your alata I will say that is very hard. Nepenthes have been crossed and hybrid so often that unless it is pure you could really have anything. Not to mention human error when labeling the plants. As always, thank you for the greenhouse tour.

      Thanks Donovan I did found a couple of slugs recently and moved them on I’ll check for spider mites again but SB invigorator should of killed them and as for the Alata yes your right there’s so much intercrossing now days but it still a beauty. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    The 'alata' is definitely not an alata. I think it is almost definitely lowii x ventricosa, or at least a lowii cross.

      Thanks Ewan I thought it looked like a lowii cross.

      @@MicksMasdevalliaorchids yeh, I'm pretty sure it's lowii x ventricosa. If it is, it's most likely the NMC168 clone, as this is the most common

      @@MicksMasdevalliaorchids yea I agree, it’s definitely Lowii x Ventricosa, aka Briggsiana

    I use pyrethrium / beethoven / pylon total fogger about once every two months to keep bugs away!! make sure its not fogging directly on your nepenthese thoe also any ferns!

    • @agpizz
      @agpizz 2 роки тому

      be careful if you decide to use them the foggers are nuero agents and can be deadly to humans and animals wait about 6 hours before re entering!! you could also use Avid insecticide but its even more dangerous

      Thanks for that Austin, I doubt we could get that in the Uk but I’ll keep an eye out to see what’s available.

      @@MicksMasdevalliaorchids its really hard to find insecticide that are friendly with carnivourous plants also if you ever have any fungal problems you can use turbuconazole or sulfur spray just saying!

    Hi Mick! Those spiders that you have been seeing, are they actually spiders or spider mites? I’m new to your channel and just looking at your earlier posts, thanks, Ginger
