Instead of a barrier on the outside to keep the birds out of a predator's reach, put it on the inside of the chicken tractor to prevent the birds from getting within the reach of the predator. A flat, 6" border around the inside of any rot proof material should work.
I thought about it, but my goal was to extend the exterior guard further from the broilers inside. If I ran it under the tractor, I'd lose the 1.5" that the 2x4 was already providing. By affixing it to the exterior, I get the most benefit from the 5" piece of PVC. I appreciate the feedback - thanks for watching!
I used two feet hardware cloth all around on and slightly under the edge. Secured for mowing over edge by tent pegs.

Good to see you back but not under the Chicken scenario.😒
Might try putting solar lights motion activated on the chicken tractors as a deterent
2x4 with nails into the ground. Like a bear slab to keep bears out.
I was thinking you would put the horizontal part UNDER the chicken tractor.
