Always use pallets that have HT stamped on them, these are Heat treated, no chemicals.
Also remember when using power tools, always use proper Safety equipment, like Safety glasses and hearing protection.

Put Osho 1st and it last for years.Get it a Walmart, ace, Lowes. It neutral rust. It is about $8 a quart and goes a long ways. It looks likes green water. Learned it from my Dad in the oil field painting tanks.

Instead of sanding all that rust use some rust remover (wink). Why make so much work with sandpaper? Maybe I am missing but only thing might be it cost more with rust remover vs sand paper but whos got so much time to sand all that fence. Oh see someone else said the same thing.

Just got some new black chainlink put in along side a really rusty old stretch of fence that came with the property, gonna hit it with the wire wheel drill head and do just like you showed.

Thanks Dave. I didn't know Rustoleum made this paint! Can you go over this formula w/their matte or satin clear spray to seal it?

I did this. It looks good, but when you reinstall the wires that hold the chain link to the horizontal pole, anywhere the wire touches, and I mean “touches”, just knocks the paint off and you’re left with bare metal.

Hi Dave: Do I have to sand it down first? Ugh!

you don't have to, but you should because it helps the paint stick easier because it needs a clean surface
