Even he has admitted to being a "pain in the fucking ass" (though other comments I've read express it perfectly: it's no fun to be around junkies when you're the only sober one. Add that to the traumatic memories he was uncovering and the press painting only half of the story MOST of the time-- all the fame in the world doesn't make it hurt any less). What he says is so true about depending on a band. He makes counting on the band sound like a good thing but as a starting out musician I'm telling you it's the biggest pain in the ass to get a band together, hope they practice, and hope they don't disband. The huge thing that sucks about being a rock artist is that you're dependent on a bunch of other people (your band) and there are so many people out there that say they want to be in a band but after a couple of rehearsals they realize how much hard work it is and quit. Rappers and athletes are lucky because their success is solely dependent on their work and not others. It's hard to explain.
