FINALLY!!!! A channel where the hosts don't whine about rolling and wind or lack of wind or anxious to get to port. I swear, aren't sailors supposed to enjoy the sea and the movement likes these guys do?
Wow. Just came across this unique sailing channel. I love the old sailing vessel. There is something quite magical in your video and the character of you both. The outside world fades completely away. Cinematography brilliant. This one with old sea chanty and green flash sunset. No words just feelings.
What an Achievement. Crossing oceans is hard core , even more so in a antique. Just goes to show how well those old wooden boats were made . That sea shanty sung was amazing, it actually gave me that funny feeling you get from hearing or seeing something that is very authentic and heart felt . Brilliant stuff . Thankyou
Outstanding video! Brilliant! Reminds me of the two pacific crossings I have made, great adventure! My first was from British Columbia also. The second from Bellingham Washington. Both are cold wet sailing that adds to the adventure! Keep up the posting of your adventures!
That phrase that stood my hair straight up, "end of the food." The joy of that last apple juice. You are way younger than I but have already lived more.
We caught 2 fish the entire trip, a small yellow fin tuna and a Mahi Mahi. We had 3 lines out at varying lengths but you need to remember that our long passages were at a depth of 20,000ft and there weren’t many surface dwellers out that far.
crikycrocky. there is not many fish or much life for that matter in the deep open ocean. the water is usually pretty sterile at surface. you need a land mass to push the deeper cold water to the top.
like the song you sing and the journey you traveled. Do you think a 26' Pearson can do the same job as you did? No wind vane but a JFC radar and auto pilot and 9.8 Tohatsu gas outboard. If you check in at Point Roberts 1st, maybe you don't have to report to the custom again. Especially when you are hungry for foods.
I’d say a 26’ Pearson would be a great boat for this voyage. Just remember the autopilot needs power unlike the Wind Vane. You wouldn’t want to hand steal that distance. Take spares too..... 😉 Cheers !!!
I am so thrilled to find you again! However, you have confused this 73 year old. Is this the very same yacht that you originally decided to pass on due to it being in too poor condition, or is this a sister ship? I would love to be pointed in the direction to enable me to fill in the gaps. Love your work!
david sharpe indeed, We are also a little mixed up, however it’s best start at the beginning, when we left Canada 🇨🇦 some recent clips are behind the scenes from that voyage....
(Smile).. You two are like reading a great sailing story in a world of Clorox bottles and plastic people.
Hahahahah!!!! This comments makes us laugh, thanks !!!
