Great reminder after 1 year break. Thanks 👍
Thank you Mark. Despite being very obvious, it is actually very helpful.
Very easy to understand, not started diving yet but wanted to see what hand signals you use. Thanks
Loved seeing the regional stuff.
In many places a thumbs-up does not simply mean "go up", but rather abort the dive, no questions asked (also referred to as "thumbing the dive" )
Thanks
Would love a video of the one-handed variants of these.
thanks! starting my diving journey here🎉
Good video
This was great. Most diver hand signal videos are made underwater, where the person is unable to explain anything (duh.)
Maybe you guys can help me?
I called a dive and snorkeled on the surface.
When the group did their safety stop I swam down and ask the guide to share air.
He responded with a signal I have never seen under water.
Back on the boat I asked about it. He said "if you don't know you don't know".
The signal was🖕
Anyone? What does it mean???😂
Where did you get "closed fist" sign showing 50bar as a part of the pressure number? Since, as you pointed, it often could be confusing with other signals (hold, reserve, danger), I wonder why would someone teach or use such of signal in a first place?
Sorry Mark, but the 1 through 5 should be signed with the palm out, not in like you showed. 6-9 are done palm in. That is done so the signal works in any orientation, even if yours signing sideways or upside down you'll still be able to see the difference between a 1 and. 6 or a 2 and a 7, for example.
Yeah, that doesn't exactly make sense during a night or poor visibility dive when you have a dry suit with dry gloves, making your palm look the same on both sides...
Reminds me, a 12ish foot white shark swims 30’ away from my dive buddy and I. We make are way to the anchor and are going up the line. A guy was doing his safety stop so we give him the shark sign. He doesn’t respond so we swim under the boat and get on the boat. Later we asked him why he didn’t get out of the water? He responds with, “I don’t speak scuba” kinda a funny story, my 6 year old niece knows the shark sign.
I just saw your clip now, did you ever thought about to add the hand signals on your Instagram account?
I got family member frozen to death at home in Post Brexit EU,. Is that normal? Respectively I have survived at home due to wearing heavy extreme isolation clothing. Frozen to death in eu, pl by EU.
"in case of emergency, wave your hands all over the place. Also we don't like silent drowners so choose your favourite four letter word and shout that out loud and clear. My favourite is not 'help' but it works the best in most situations"
I need deco signs
I learned diving on PSI, so first signaling my air pressure in bar was kind of an readjustment. Better learn the regional signals in advance, not in the briefing just before the dive.
Hi! How do you show air pressure in psi? i can imagine 1000 psi or 100 but not 50 🤔
@@Hannochka470 The way I was taught (there are different versions), you lay one finger of your right hand on your left forearm for every thousand psi and show fingers of your open hands for the hundreds. Fifty is not signalled.
@@leopoldbloom4835 thank you 😊
Not sure why youtube recommended this but I am here.
It's your sign to begin scuba diving!
Thanks for explaining that and that its ok to pee in a wet suit, as long as its yours?
I miss Shaun hasnt been the same
Don’t like your 170
