"Hank, you are an abnormality" - understatement of the year
Great video. But Manon let Hank really hanging with the fistbumps
Yeah. What was that about?🤔
I noticed that. Trouble in paradise!
I wish the editor had added a fist bump denied graphic and claxon!
She looked like she wasn't happy with Hank
Definitely seemed unprofessional. Not sure what that was all about, but it really didn't reflect well on her part.
👊 for hank 18:20
hank should really do a triathlon probably a 70.3 that would be a really nice video episodes of training For a 70.3
On a pro cyclist transitions to triathlon he definitely has the body and the guts to do it
Hank would be great at 70?3
you gotta give hank credit. Ollie will always be my fav. presenter (not only for memes haha) but hank seems like the guy who is always right at the frontline for everything. he accepts every challenge and always goes all in. from red hook krit to that one time he almost killed his manlyhood on that penny farthing and literally any other challenge he did over the years.
Hank vs Blake from gmbn on hill climbs was great
Aw Manon! What a savage leaving Hank hanging! 😅. Cool video. These crossovers are great 👍.
The competitiveness of Manon on 18:21. Left Hank hanging. Hahahaha. She wasn’t having it that day.
Poor sportsmanship
Savage! Tbf I think she was listening to the presenters and not aware of what Hank was doing.
18:20 Poor Hank got left hanging by Manon.
Yes, personal differences should be left aside when working. And no need to swear; this is aimed at the younger generation
Ouch 😂
@@James-zu1ij it’s not that deep, they were both smiling
@@tyler5246 Naw, that was something else entirely. Over the top.
❤️ Manon for being real!!
Alex immediately looks so pro, his running looks effortless as well!
First thing I noticed. He's got some running in him.
It’s a shame that Dan got injured but I feel like we need a GCN vs GTN handicap run challenge
Big fistbump to Hank. Shame on you Manon...
"Running is so hard." -M. Lloyd
Wonderful video
hahaha!
I laughed at that too 😂
Hanks puzzled face when he's told to Pace it lmao ,priceless 🤣
Imagine if this would be a couple of years ago with SI, Dan, Matt and Emma.. I would love to see that.
Emma would leave everyone in the dust
@@Garadom, yeah absolutely. She would give GTN a run for their money, aswell.
Dan would've found a way to cheat haha. I don't think his ego could take losing to Emma.
@@johanneso6083 she would smoke GTN.. look at her strava lol
@@mrvwbug4423 Yeah, proberbly sneaking in an E-bike. Matt would still be trying to clip in... :P
I would love to see Mark and Heather to race with them. Kinda curious how well they would have done the race.
Pretty sure with these distances you loose so hard to a decent runner.
Yes was disappointed Heather, Mark and someone else weren't involved
I thought it was going to be a GTN vs GCN challenge
Duathlon is a runners sport
“I think you are an abnormality Hank” 🤣🤣🤣 exactly why we love the GCN presenters.
Enjoy the cross over episodes! Hank: “there’s no chamois” lol
GCN Mates : how about DualThon guys ???
Hank after 700+ km suffering : i've been worst than that
Manon took the challenge bloody seriously!
I know her personally she does!
It was a little very unfair on Manon.
Why because Manon transition on the 1st race, was tens and tens seconds faster than Hank and Alex.
Meaning Hank and Alex had a massive advantage over Manon (because they could gain 10 and 10 of seconds in the transition bit) to Manon
Hope you get that.
looking forward to them doing a triathlon. With Manon's swimming background, I'm going to bet on her 👍🏻
I hit like so fast... As a fan of both channels and a soon-to-be triathlete this is what I needed!!!
Good luck triathlons are fun
18.21 absolutely heart breaking moment 😂
As a cyclist who has just this year dabbled in triathlon I am absolutely here for this content!! More more more please!!!
Thanks! 🙌
Loving all the channel crossover content between GTN, GCN, GMB, etc. Such fun!
Hank is probably freezing but his body is to scared too tell him
Here in Belgium we have the Hel van Kasterlee duathlon. Amazing race in wintertime! 16km trailrun, 100km mountainbike ride and finish with a 30km run during the end of november in the Kempen.
😳
Bruh
That is brutal at best
@@francescorota2982 It is, certainly when the first place prize is just 300 Euro. No need to enter for the money.
@@MrTuubster I feel like I will never win a race ahahah sooo the prize money wouldn't be of my concern. Being it a free event is good but it seems to me like torture... that's it. 100km on MTB is insane on its own in my head.
Hank “ and where are the TRANSFERS ? “
Omg that was so cute haha
Great video !!
it is amazing to see that they're competitive nature really comes up
Awesome video (as always).. But watching Manon ignoring Hanks fist bump was pretty brutal. Poor Hank :D
Brilliant video. Perfect example of the competitive nature of pro athletes even when it’s not their sport.
Poor show with the fist bumps Manon.
Hank!!! What the hell is that robot running style 😂
A few years ago, there is a HIITs video where Heather makes Hank suffer and now she's roped in Manon and Alex!! Absolutely love it. GTN should do a post race interview one day later - the GCN crew ran approximately 6 km at race pace on pavement with no prior running training, so their legs will be extremely sore the next day from the pounding (and for a few days after). As GTN knows, this is the critical point to avoid running injuries (just ask Dan). At this point you can't distinguish between good pain (ie simple muscle soreness due to interval training the previous day) and bad pain (Achilles tendons, shin splints, hamstring pulls, knee pain, etc.). But fear not, the GCN crew likely will not run the next day nor during the next months as they are not triathletes or runners and cycling (their main sport) will likely not exasperate any cronic running injuries.
That was Hank from that HIIT video? I had no idea lol. Yeah, Heather beat him up pretty bad on that one lol
GCN crew should take the GTN crew on a 100 mile ride next!
After watching Manon, Hank, and Alex run there is one thing for sure...they're definitely cyclist.
Now you're posting this ....the ironic thing is I took part in the Kent Duathlon today ...my first :) 10k run 40k bike 5k run Hosted by Tough Runner
Same here although I did the sprint.
What a lovely video! I'm very much looking forward to one including the swim as well. And poor Manon, slow cadence and landing straight on her heels. I think Heather needs to give her some running lessons.
Also: when will one of them realise that you transition faster without socks?
Awesome stuff. Great combo of GTN and GCN crew!
@18:21 when Manon looks at Hanks fist … and says no. aaaaahahahahaha
I’m a GCN subscriber, it’s so weird to see the hosts are not commentating hahaha.
Good collab guys!!
My first duathlon is in 2 months. This was fun to watch before my Sunday morning brick session.
Heather giving Manon her tri bike for the second race was awesome. I wanted Manon to win!!
Manon had a massive massive disadvantage.
Manon time in the transition in the first race (was 10 and 10 seconds quicker)
Meaning Alex and Hank could improve there times (for each transition) by 10 and 10 seconds, to Manon.
Thought very harsh on Manon.
There needs to be more of this, what an awesome video. Next time get Mark and Heather into it with handicapped starting times.
That fist bump hang time...lol
Alex looked like one of the decathlon guys from the 90s Nike v Reebok ad blitz.
Well GCN presenters ! it was fun to see you taking the challenges ! well done!
The idea of triathlon was always not so interesting to me because of the swimming part, but when i searched for duathlon, to my big surprise, that was a legit thing. I love that i get to see this on gtn. So cool
Don't worry, Hank. I gotchu bro🤜🤛
I love those videos having both GCN and GTN!! Very entertaining, very instructive! Keep the good work!
I love these cross overs. Keep em' coming!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is a great content! Manon, Alex and Hank are just perfect for the scene haha!
Smashing video. Great efforts with the crossover, awesome tips, and fantastic tunes 👍🏾
Love this. All three should all go for triathlons. Though Manon should concentrate on the sprint distances, since she is a sprinter. And Hank and Alex for 70.3. I think they would do well and get some variation to their training.
I want to see a video of the next day, as that’s when the soreness will kick in!
Hank's face on 18:22 after not getting the fist bump tho 🤧😁😂
Love these challenges! Keep 'em coming. Manon is a serious competitor and a cool ass lady! The guys are ok too lol
Great video, way too short though, I just can't get enough of you guys! :D
Always fun! Keep it up.
I tried both running and cycling. I chose cycling finally, because cycling does not hurt my knees as running does in a long run.
One of the best videos youtube has recommended me
Glad you enjoyed it!
Now same with bike&run format. Meaning two people teams move one bike some distance and the winner is the team, which get the bike and both members across the line first. The one who rides and the one who runs and when they switch is completely up to the team.
Amazing Video 👍more of such content please
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH haha. Such good fun.
This was a great edit! I enjoyed the concept and the slow mo's were gold! More of these please
Alex is natural runner... beautiful stride
And that's how GDN was created! Great video guys!
I like these collaborations with the GCN presenters.
On races I’m like Manon; when it’s cold I wear long sleeves and prefer to be comfortable. I know some people would say what about the drag but I race for fun and the drag would not make a big difference on my times.
Awesome. Maybe doing some duathlon relay, where teams of 2 are created mixing both GCN and CTN members, so you could concentrate on each event, like member one goes first running, then member two goes for the biking, then member one goes for the biking and finally member two goes for the running. Its a modified version of a duathlon, but each member could compite once in every event, so the burden is less.
Keep creating great content and crossovers s always. Cheers.
Brilliant video, great to see a little more love for the world of duathlon!! Great tips!! Thanks for sharing!!
Used to love duathlons in my younger days. Now a duathlon is as hard to find as a unicorn. Triathlons are still plentiful but I found it challenging enough finding time to just train for two disciplines.
Is Alex roxking Kiprun Ultralights?? Awesome choice - master strategy choice by Manon to keep her trainers on the for the bike!
before i saw the final results i felt confident in alex taking the win for 2 specific reasons
1. The change of running shoe. The ON Cloudflash are a very fast shoe over shorter distances.
2. He has more of a runner's body. Hank is a little "top heavy" which would probably give him more of a swimming advantage in a full tri.
----------------------------------------
out of curiosity - did the 3 athletes go through a good/comprehensive warmup/activation set before their runs, and if so - did they think to do so off of their own idea or through guidance from you and mark?
thanks
We need the follow-up video to this! Add the swim!
4:45 There is a border collie. I have this dog too. Sometimes I want to buy a flight ticket for it to see what the mother land looks like.
MANON!! Totally left Hank hanging when he offered a friendly fist bump! How unsportsmanlike :(
👍👍👍👍 Totally inspirational. I'm gonna mix duo training with my routine. Once a month for sure. I'm a cyclist and although I despise running, a little is good for my overall fitness as well as my legs cause I recruit different muscles. Great video. Thanks.
really enjoyed that, loved the competition between presenters. More would be great
More of these activities and content please
Alex has great running form!
Manon transition was the faster than Hank and Alex by 10 and 10 of seconds for (each) of the 2 transitions.
Meaning Manon (a couldn’t improve on it that much)
Where as Hank and Alex could improve on there transitions by 10 and 10 of seconds.
Meaning Manon was penalised (heavy) penalised for her transition in the first race.
18:20 Oh no,manon passed the fistbump
yeah... what was that all about... not cool
I don't know why i'm laughing so hard at the way the graphic zoomed ALL the way in to show the track
Love these crossover vids, everyone is so competitive! Amazed that Hank didn’t win - first time for everything. Feel for Manon but not sure why Hank got left hanging with the fist bump - ouch!!
K Stethespokes
So do I feel for Manon, Manon was penalised for having such a fast transition in the 1st race. Hank and Alex were rewarded for by 10 and 10 seconds for having such a slow transition in the first race.
K Stethespokes
It’s like saying (I’m a 50 seconds faster runner than you for 5km) you have a 20 seconds better transition time than me.
So you have a 30 seconds head start on me, I’m a 50 seconds better runner than you.
Already I’m having a advantage, and plus I’ve been told I’m slow in the transition bit (so I would want to improve that by 10 and 10 seconds, then told Manon didn’t change her trainers.
Meaning I could copy that, saving me 10 and 10 more seconds.
I hope you understand that, felt for Manon, as Hank and Alex had a unfair advantage.
@@andyclark8991 I have read every single reply from you in this video and I still don't understand what you are saying. What does 10 and 10 seconds mean in English? How is this a penalty? They took longer to transition since they changed their shoes but they caught up by running faster for longer.
SNK038
It’s supposed to be 10’s and 10’s of seconds.
In the first one Hank & Alex did, there transition bit cost them 10’s and 10’s more seconds than Manon transition bit (got it)
Manon lead in the 2nd challenge included (the 10’s and 10’s seconds more time Hank and Andy spend in it/the transition bit) for the challenge.
Yet Hank and Andy transition time in the 2nd challenge wasn’t even a eighth to there first transition time.
(Ie, SNK038) Andy and Hank first transition time 10’s and 10’s seconds. Andy and Hank second transition time couple/few seconds.
Saving Andy and Hank 10’s and 10’s seconds on Manon.
Especially as Andy and Hank were told to copy Manon with putting trainers on.
It’s like saying Manon transition bit cost her 4 to 5 seconds, and Andy and Hawk transition bit (on 1st challenge) cost them 25 seconds
Saving them 20 seconds. In the transition bit you can quickly and much much more easier save time (by 10’s of seconds) than when your flat out running or on the bike flat out (SNK038)
Giving them a unfair advantage, to have made to fair, Andy and Hawk needed to have spent the same amount of time in the 2nd transition bit to the 1st transition bit.
(Ie, first transition bit) 25 seconds, second transition bit (4/5 seconds) Andy and Hawk should have spent the same amount of time in the transition bit (that there did for the first one)
Can’t be more simple than that.
Alex's trainers can be seen from the space station.
alex: carefully pace his run
manon: carefully pace her run
hank: FULL SEND GAS GAS!!!
A formula should be used to determine all aspects of this competition. I think Manon was the overall winner. Let’s look at the science.
Missed out mounting/dismounting. Although we only saw Manon dismount (which from a tri point of view was pretty poor) those are areas where you can gain considerable time in transition!
Absolutely loved this :)
Really enjoyed that, just wish I was quite a bit younger, fitter and lighter so I could do all those things again! Did a tri about 6 years ago and it was brilliant fun though I did have certain issues. Drying myself off after the swim, stopping for something to eat on the ride etc etc :D Please get these three back for a tri when the pool's open, and the hosts could join in too :D
Of the 3, I'd say Alex as the best running style, followed bt Manon. Hank definately needs to learn how to run...lol This was a great video to watch!
Great and entertaining video! It got me thinking I would quite appreciate a video how to get through the first (and likely for a while also last) triathlon, if you are a current cyclist racing with the performance level already kind of sorted out and 'only' needs some drills to make it through the water, the transitions as quickly as possible (ok, this point had been already discussed in this video) and then through the run without too much of training specific for those two non-bike disciplines.
I think Dan Vs Si is the real race, there must be a crossover where Dan's running challenges si on a tt bike
As Hank like a challenge. How about training him up to do the Norseman? Have it a a GTN/GCN collaboration showing his progression.
Hank is a very busy guy, but we'll see what we can do in the future 🙂
That was fantastic.... please do more of that 👌😃
Great video guys - loved it!
'kin hell. I enjoyed that video.
I've done a few duathlons and having sneakers and flat pedals makes the transition a LOT quicker against dubious gains with cycling shoes. Also don't coast into transition, come in pretty hard and brake late. Those couple of seconds could be the difference.
Fun video. I was thinking that with a small track that keeping the running shoes on was the right call. Hanks competitiveness really shined especially in the second one.
Sprint duathlon world championships age group ... all the GCN crew could sign-up and qualify. See you in Townsville, Queensland, Australia in 2022
Have been waiting years for this...!!!
Great stuff guys. Really liked that. Mine is in 5 days !
Great bit of fun there! GTN crew, I’ve been looking for those jackets in the shop for a while now, but sadly not available. Will you stock them at some point? Happy to have yours though Mark seeing as it is warming up now and you probably won’t need it anymore! 😁😁
