庆祝世界杯夺冠，World Cup Champion Cerebration, 巴塔哥尼亚，Patagonia, El Chaltén, Argentina, 查尔腾，阿根廷，12/18/2022

Trip itinerary (13 nights):
Departed for Santiago - Punta Arenas (1 night) - self-drove to TDP (Hosteria Pehoe 1 night, Hotel Lago Grey 2 nights; hiked to and visited multiple lookouts found on the Google maps; Lago Grey Glacier cruise) - drove to and parked near Hotel las Torres Patagonia, hiked to Refugio El Chileno (1 night) - hiked to the three towers before sunrise, hiked down to Refugio El Chileno for breakfast, hiked down back to the cars - drove to El Calafate (through Paso Rio Don Guillermo border; 2 nights; visited Moreno Glacier Park; Minitrekking) - drove to El Chalten (5 nights; selected trails to hike to Laguna de los Tres and Laguna Torre; World Cup final on December 18, 2022, no hiking!) - drove back through the same border to Punta Arenas (1 night) - departed for home. This itinerary was modified from the one we used in 2016 (see earlier video "Patagonia" in this channel). We hiked less (no W trail) but had more good views this time as compared with the previous trip.
This Patagonia trip was originally planned for March 2020 and was repeatedly postponed due to the pandemic. We finally set off last month, December 2022, and coincidently were in El Chalten, Argentina, a small town considered to be the world hiking capital, when the World Cup Final took place in Qatar on December 18, 2022. After watching the heart-stopping game on TV in a hotel, we joined the cerebration with local people and tourists. The experience of such a historical moment made it worth waiting for the 3 years for the trip! Two more videos of the trip are to follow.
