Operator is really Good !!!
Yep. A very reliable and well built machine, it helped make Hitachi a name for themselves in mining
PAmining that’s is Hitachi Giant EX grandfather :)
That's about the smoothest shovel operator I ever seen.
I used to look after 3 of these machines that belonged to Short Bros Ltd in South Wales, UK. they also had one Hitachi EX3600 face shovel. All working for Celtic Energy in open cast coal mines.
It depends on the job. There are pros and cons with both loaders and shovels. A loader offers higher mobility but doesn't have the breakout force to dig through hard rock like a shovel does. That's why a lot of times a dozer will assist a loader and keep pushing the shot down to the loader to loosen it. Loaders also can be more expensive to maintain (keep in mind tire prices). Shovels offer higher breakout force but at the same time, are less mobile.
very good operator you start from the top down and not try to lift the mountain good job
That looks like RES Coal’s machines. I and the other Tech at Rudd spent weeks bring that machine back up to operational standards from the previous owner. The trucks do have the MTU’s as asked in other comments. The operator is nicknamed HotRod and he is one of the best shovel operators hands down
Agreed, he was great to watch
Nice. Please upload more bigger machines like this. Thanx...
very nice video justin
I edited out the worst of the wind noises the best I could...and that took 5hrs of work. That's why I try never to film when it's windy
Great machine, great product...…. the 1800 / 350 400 & so on, great machines.
Nice video. That rascal seems to dig very well. Thanks.
guter baggerfahrer mit viel gefühl für den bagger
nice video. The operator seems to be a pro
great video
Woo hoo first one....... Awesome vid by the way those old 1800's are tough as nails man
Impressive machine.
Great video Justin, could watch that machine working all day, is that blasted rock it's moving?.
Wow, what a beast. Nice video, but you need to do something about that wind noise. Thanks for posting, it's a nice machine.
The trucks are offered with Cummins or MTU Detroit power. The ones in the video have Cummins QST30's. The shovel uses twin Cummins KTA19-C diesels.
awsome. im intrested in anything that has the word Cummins involved. lol ever since i was little, big equipment has strongly held my intrest. Thanks for replying. Michael
Nice!!
good video and what a beast... and looking carefully, its doing exacly whan an equally big wheel loader could be doing. but safely and more eficiently?
SWEET!
Thanks
Thanks and yes that's blasted rock he's removing above the coal seam
Hey sir. I'm a big fan of your channel. I'm an laid off Virginia / Kentucky surface miner. Are they needing any rock truck drivers up your way.
Good video!
Are the hitachi trucks well liked? it seems cat and komatsu have always out sold them.
Simon Miller I’ll take a 1700 Hitachi over a 777f or a 785 Komatsu any day
Its painful seeing the Euclid logo on a foreign machine...and Detroit is owned by MTU, I miss the GM Euclid and the screaming 2 cycles Detroits, 71 series was rock solid in design!
very much agree
i guess im the first one to comment. but awsome video Justin. so what engines to the euc-hitachi trucks use? the shovel??
You bet!
Nice machine still runin er?
are detroit engines still a GM thing or what i was never clear on that......??????
doccumentary of the ex 1800 ?
No probs. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the off-highway division of Detroit is owned by MTU. Maybe someone who knows more about the Detroit Diesel history will chim in.
PAmining I’m not absolutely sure of this, but if I remember correctly, Euclid was originally a GM product. They were bought by Terex but maintained the Euclid name. Is Terex owned by MTU?
