Dante was the same way when vanilla 3 came out.::I bought the game just for Dante and didn’t know he was gonna be a really good character...then ultimate came out and the same thing for Vergil..:I wanted to play him...didn’t know how fucking good he was going to be

I used to main Taskmaster and one reason he was so good was he had one of the highest overall health in the game. This gave him the ability to come back off any one single combo. The only bad side to him was he didn't have any specific area he was super great at. All of his moves were so-so and it's why his mediocre appeal turned many players away. Regardless of his weaknesses, I prided myself as being the best Taskmaster player in my area... which didn't say much only that I knew the in's and out's of one specific character more than anyone else around me. Loved Taskmaster.
I think Nova is mid-high A tier. He's one of the best setup characters in the game but he needs a team designed to take advantage of that. His dashes are bad and he doesn't have the solo damage that a lot of other characters do. I would place Ammy mid A-tier also due to her general utility. She needs X-Factor to get solo damage, but she has so much else in her toolkit. 2 assists that rival Doom's(meter and lockdown, which both can completely change how dangerous the point character is). Projectile reflect. Slow super. Screen hitting/clearing super. Also the MarlinPie special true unblockable since her super last so damn long.

I might not love this game like I do all the previous entries, but I did really enjoy it, and I love revisiting it every once in a while, they did bring Wolverine back from trash tier hell in this one, so I was able to play him competitively again.
Even if you didnt go too in depth, I'd LOVE to see your tier list for vanilla MvC3 :) keeping in mind how the characters were before Ultimate, DHC trick, maybe new tech we know now that we didnt then? Stuff like that would be so cool.
All Nemesis really needs is decreased scaling on his supers, invincibility startup on his biohazard rush super, and invincibility startup on his level 3 and make it so it leaves the opponent in a crumpled state to combo after, and he could easily shoot up to A tier. It's such a shame Capcom robbed him of everything a big body character should be.
I think it'd take more than that. His grounded spacing tools are largely bad since much of the cast can easily avoid them. Deadly Reach doesn't even hit a standing VJoe or Arthur, Rocket Launcher misses standing X-23 can even be ducked by Dormammu. And for a character as large and slow as Nemesis is, having bad spacing as well as no real mobility tools is kind of a death sentence. Sure, he has awesome combo potential and damage output, but like Justin said for Sentinel, Nemesis just isn't going to be able to hit a competent opponent in most matchups. Nemmy's still one of my favorites, though. I'm a heavyweight player in most fighting games, and Nemesis/Hulk is an absolutely monstrous pairing.
He needs better scaling on his non supers too, he just deals garbage damage especially for a big body character. Also the startup on his armor should be as fast as Hulk's.

I agree with the list, but the only 3 that mystify me are your placement of Strider, Hsien Ko, and Viewtiful Joe, all for different reasons. Strider should be sitting higher on the list, his Oroboros is pretty a guaranteed unblockable with the right assists (Doctor Doom), and on top of that his rush down is as good as Wolverine's, if not better because he doesn't have to spend meter to OTG. I just think that if Wolverine is placed that high, then Strider should be higher than him. I don't really agree with Hsien Ko being trash tier, but I'm by no means saying she's that great. Her level 3 with switch makes her easily the strongest assist in the game. It's a complete gimmick, but it's better than anything the rest of trash tier offer and better than some of the B tier. And lastly, Viewtiful Joe. I don't think his slowing super makes up for all of his other enourmous flaws. Bad priority, bad range, weak neutral. The only thing he has going for him is a decent combo game, and a good super, his low health pool and weak footsies make him pretty lack luster, even a good player with him could make better use out of a better combo heavy character like Vergil, Dante, Dr. Doom, Magneto, Zero, or even Shuma Gorath. Also one last thing, Jill and Shuma never got their time to shine because they were DLC, but I'd wager if they came with the game, they would be much higher on tier lists, especially Shuma Gorath who I think is slept on pretty hard because his neutral is bad.
There's solid placings here and some of course are going to be obvious but I have a few discrepancies over it. As a Nova player I really think he's at best #10 in the top 10 but he's not anywhere like Magneto. Magneto can do everything Nova does but better and overall has more options. The only thing that Nova has better are arguably better supers and an incredibly strong j. H. But there are other characters like MODOK who should be in Top 10. Theres enough proof of it despite there not being as many players. Wolverine and Spencer for example are really easy and good but I think neither of them should be in the S tier category. I feel like this list is very 2014 feeling as it lumps too many characters in the A tier spot which is why I believe there could have been more rows. Some of the characters in A should move down to B and vice versa imo but since it's the middle area it doesnt matter too too much but I think you're undermining Rocket, Chun and Deadpool and overrating Jill, Hawkeye and Haggar I also think Thor and Iron Man are too low. I think Tron too but I can understand her being there. But some of those "Trash" characters are way more trash and not helpful on a team. Iron Man at least has good support value and arguably a better beam assist than even Doom so he could be bumped up one. Same for Thor and his setplay potential.
I mostly agree with this comment with the exception of hawkeye who I think deserves his placement on this list. Chun, I agree is very under-rated but that is due to mostly to how little people are exposed to her. Her potential is super high but the work that has to be put in for the results is just too daunting for a lot of people when they can get their W with easier to use characters.
Hey man nice list. I don't play UVMC3 a lot but still it was interesting. I'm more of a Tekken player. If you want season 3 changes are happening soon and more characters are going to be released. Maybe you want to wait on that until the second character gets released or you could do a casual to midlevel\online or a tournament level tier list.
Since you say team based , I think honestly this list could use some work , I think J list based off what he’s seen not by what’s been tried or experienced . I think umvc3 still has a lot potential , the other day I got a Skrull infinite and spider man 1 hit to death even on Thor no X factor 🤷🏻♂️
I think his list is fine. Theres a reason why there are only 4 tiers and most characters can do some broken shit. In practice marvel 3 just has a lot of shit that can make tiers trivial. With x factor, infinites, etc. Plus if you have a couple of people that make characters work at a high level or in low/mid level play doesn't make them objectively good characters. Thor objectively has a bad kit, bad frame data, bad assists. All he has is high solo damage.
La Parka being in B Tier makes sense. I'd argue he's the most balanced character, but in a game like Marvel you don't want balance you need the cheap shit. I also wish they had buffed Nemesis. His level 3 isn't even invincible on start up which is so stupid
How to fix the Marvel vs Capcom franchise: 1. Reboot the franchise. And 2. Give the rebooted franchise's gameplay balance the Street Fighter treatment.
@@t-mofisher8922 Agree. The only nerf I would give is probably getting rid of Morrigan's meter gain on Astral vision. She already has Soul Drain in her kit and most installs don't let you gain meter on regular attacks. Also get rid of Vergil's level 3 hitting OTG cause he doesn't need it, he's already overloaded, and it looks stupid, like it shouldn't really hit. Other than that, most characters just need some small changes, like more mobility, combo options, or increased priority to help their neutral game out.
ddranimestyle Yeah some top tier characters should have some SMALL nerfs like you said, but nothing game changing like say Dark Phoenix losing health even in X factor Otherwise Capcom should go wild with giving lower tier characters new stuff. Give Hsien Ko actual mixups. Cap shield slash should go full screen and have durability. Crazy stuff but not stuff that makes characters broken
Chris is amazing. Most underrated character in the game. What you said about Modok totally applies to Chris. How can you say he's trash, but Jill is not maxed out? She is incapable of a kill combo and can't do shit against projectiles. Nemesis is way better than hulk and haggar, and is extremely good at laming out every character in your top tier list. Also Wesker is A tier, thank you.
The reason I bought Phoenix Wright is because I played the AA series games. And maining him despite being a trash tier is still fun af. Having online sessions with my friend from time to time. Learned some amazing tech from IheartJustice and Lythero as well XD
The ABSOLUTE worst thing about Morrigan is her gaining meter whilst having a super activated! Even super cheap ass Zero doesn't do that. I've always wondered if that was a glitch they missed.

Storm I like very much as well. But I teeter between Storm, Hulk, and Magneto as the third. Wolverine and Akuma have been main characters since the first MVC.

You know I kinda wish for umvc3 rerelease on ps4 they would rebalance it like a umvc3+ but have the original balanced characters still available kinda like sf4 and all the character versions. Have 2 diff ranked classic and +. What a pipe dream, but still nice to think about. Nerf the top 4 on your S tier aswell. And make trash tier at least B tier.
Unless they made the game run as well as the Xbox version and fixed the horrible netcode, one of the worst, then no. Same reason why Netherealm Studios won't remaster mk9. Because they would have to completely rehual the online netcode in order for people to keep playing it. Otherwise it would be a waste of money for them to bring it back and with how much time and money that costs they might as well make a new game instead.

First UmvC3 gets support cutted off, than MvCI gets in trouble because it had insufficient budget (gameplay and character uniqueness were great) I dont know if it is end of MvC but i surely would play MvC4,5 and 6! To be honest even MvC2 port for steam would pleased me.
I'm curious if in 5-6 years we will be still talking about DBFZ but I know for fact that even 6 years after release peoples play UMvC3 and discover new combos.
Two biggest surprises are that I expected Doom to be considered arguably the best character in the game. He does everything well, needs no resources, all three assists are top 10, has such easy hit confirmations, works with almost any team, and is used in so many successful teams. The other is Viewtiful Joe, I've just hardly seen him work. You need to do so much to win with him, his normals are garbage, he does no damage, any high caliber player can get to him, and he's like Ryu where he can really only OTG super. I totally expected him to be considered a gimmick like Arthur.
Doom is like the jack of all trades but a master of none. Zero, Morrigan and Vergil are all considered the best because they have certain things that make them broken, while Doom has nothing that makes him seem broken. VIewtilful Joe on the other hand is actually a good character, he just doesn't get picked a lot nowadays because he doesn't fit in the current meta. Joe is a really good zoner, can move around the screen very well to keep distance and has a great lvl 3 slow that can basically disable your character. The lvl 3 slow lasts for a very long time and people were able to come up with some great strategies revolving around it. Obviously there's no reason to pick Joe now because Morrigan is just much better at the zoning game than him, but he is still a great character.

The only ones i disagree with is chun and x23. X23 is fast OMG and her mobility/Mixups. Same with Chun she can jump attack contact bounce backwards then airdash low or high!! No other character in the game can do that.
I'd swap dante and spencer. I just feel like dante can go into pretty much any team and spencer is not, which negates slight difference in raw power between them

Joe is insane if you can play him!!!! He has Zeros pizza cutter you can’t fuck with and he also can zone like morrigan! You can get his projectiles out on the screen and cover everything along with rushing down at the same time! Joe is crazy good! Along with his speed and mobility! You never played a good joe if you ever question it! He creates his own meta game like morrigan.
Should put shuma in lower A tier. His neutral is bad but he has great normals and obviously insane damage. The only other issue with him is how difficult he is to combo with due to his charge inputs. (Even with Angelic going crazy with him I feel like the character still has a lot more potential to be explored as he has one of the most versatile combo routes)
Verdict, to be ranked high a character must have some kind of ranged attack. Wolverine and Haggar are exceptions because their other positives outweigh this lack of theirs.
To sum up this post... Strider and Hulk have higher win potential in general than Dr Doom. Trish is not only good but is a counter to Morgan and annoys Dark Phoenix so she's a bit higher in S tier. Dr. Doom is the man, but he isn't A tier. Hulk is a lot better than you're explaining in this video and is probably scraping the bottom of S tier if not in it in general. Frank is lower tier. Captain America is simple and degrading but probably matched with Akuma and with how good he is when you aren't being biased. And Akuma is just not durable enough and is bumped down because countering him can become very simple, almost as simple as countering Jean Grey players who decide to ever call her in as an assist. The rest of the post is my reasoning. Strider is a better overall character however Vajra Assist, OTG 1 bar super, Great in X-factor. Teleport kick overhead are the 3 reasons why it's better than doom. It can be argued that Doom foot-dive is better but it's not versatile it just lands for some reason and causing a hard knockdown with it is literally like the Doom Special. I've seen more mixups from Strider than confirms from foot-dive because you simply block or avoid it. It's Doom's "Oh Crap" button, not something he's really trying to go aggro with. That's doom's weakness, he really has a problem starting up combos except from grab, TAC, knockdown hard tag, or from foot-dive, You faced Hulk... Hulk has cancels that are as annoying as Akuma's Shoryuken Super EXCEPT he's a big body character! In addition to that he has an invulnerable anti-air super with Gamma Crush. Seeing that KBR ran a tournament simply by forcing the grabs that you were talking about was not the full picture of what was happening it's just that against you he really focused on being the cheapest he could be aka cancels and command grab combos. This weird interplay with him probably should push him to S tier... even if it's low S tier. Also he has that rock super setup... Yeah definitely S tier just super low. Doom is probably THE MAXIMUM A tier, meaning that if he had a way to start his combos without putting so much on the line that he would be S tier. The fact that Doom cannot make a combo with Dante Assist shows how weak his combo potential is outside of TAC, Knockdown hard tag, or Foot-dive/grab. But literally if you want to make your team better just take a character out and put doctor doom in. Like that Hulk Haggar Sentinel team? Take Sentinel out and put Doctor Doom in. Hidden missiles and Plasma Beam are so cheap! Dr Doom Level 3s body people and even worse is when people knock you down and tag into Doom for the OTG. Most any character can do that! So cheap! Doom doesn't start the combos, but he can certainly end your life! About Chris... his neutral is definitely overshadowed by most people in higher tiers. But in that regard I think he's still better than Frank West. This is not to say that Chris isn't garbo, but I think that Frank is actually weaker than A tier with the exception of powering him up. Playing Frank as first in slot is a mistake, and playing him last in slot is a mistake. He's literally a middle slot character and his assist really isn't super great. Captain America is a B tier but his combos are super simple, they hurt hard, and it's happy birthday confirmed central. He's a good first choice character with the real issue literally being that his shield doesn't full screen from the ground. [It can go pretty far in the air for some reason.] His shield picks up OTGs probably as good as Doctor Doom. If his assists were stronger he'd probably be in A tier honestly. Thing is, Captain is lame at master level. Like charging star combos make it feel your opponents feel like they wasted time in training mode. But seriously if Doom is Maximum A tier, Captain America is Maximum B tier. Even as Anchor X Factor, Cap can do a bit much. Tier changes based on matchup. Trish bump up: Trish gives Morgan a hard time because of her aerial game and traps. Her Trap assist is also respectable. This alone would bump her a significant distance up the A tier list. Akuma bump down: Can be defeated while he is called in for assist even though his Tatsu-assist is so good, I would actually bump him down to B tier because there are so many ways to counter the assist call or render it pointless if people are truly respecting the other player. [Probably tied with Captain America]
Personally I'd put Nova, Joe, Haggar, Trish, Viper and Jill a little lower and put Ammy, Tron, Iron Man, Sentinel, Wesker, and X-23 a little higher, and put Spider-Man in mid A Tier, but overall good list.

Sentinel has a good assist and Hard Drive is a pretty good super... other than that he gets oppressed badly by a lot of the better characters. There's some baller Sentinel players out there though (shoutout to RayRay).

She needs X-Factor to get solo damage, but she has so much else in her toolkit. 2 assists that rival Doom's(meter and lockdown, which both can completely change how dangerous the point character is). Projectile reflect. Slow super. Screen hitting/clearing super. Also the MarlinPie special true unblockable since her super last so damn long.

I might not love this game like I do all the previous entries, but I did really enjoy it, and I love revisiting it every once in a while, they did bring Wolverine back from trash tier hell in this one, so I was able to play him competitively again.
Even if you didnt go too in depth, I'd LOVE to see your tier list for vanilla MvC3 :) keeping in mind how the characters were before Ultimate, DHC trick, maybe new tech we know now that we didnt then? Stuff like that would be so cool.
All Nemesis really needs is decreased scaling on his supers, invincibility startup on his biohazard rush super, and invincibility startup on his level 3 and make it so it leaves the opponent in a crumpled state to combo after, and he could easily shoot up to A tier. It's such a shame Capcom robbed him of everything a big body character should be.
I think it'd take more than that. His grounded spacing tools are largely bad since much of the cast can easily avoid them. Deadly Reach doesn't even hit a standing VJoe or Arthur, Rocket Launcher misses standing X-23 can even be ducked by Dormammu. And for a character as large and slow as Nemesis is, having bad spacing as well as no real mobility tools is kind of a death sentence. Sure, he has awesome combo potential and damage output, but like Justin said for Sentinel, Nemesis just isn't going to be able to hit a competent opponent in most matchups.
Nemmy's still one of my favorites, though. I'm a heavyweight player in most fighting games, and Nemesis/Hulk is an absolutely monstrous pairing.
He needs better scaling on his non supers too, he just deals garbage damage especially for a big body character. Also the startup on his armor should be as fast as Hulk's.

I agree with the list, but the only 3 that mystify me are your placement of Strider, Hsien Ko, and Viewtiful Joe, all for different reasons.
Strider should be sitting higher on the list, his Oroboros is pretty a guaranteed unblockable with the right assists (Doctor Doom), and on top of that his rush down is as good as Wolverine's, if not better because he doesn't have to spend meter to OTG. I just think that if Wolverine is placed that high, then Strider should be higher than him.
I don't really agree with Hsien Ko being trash tier, but I'm by no means saying she's that great. Her level 3 with switch makes her easily the strongest assist in the game. It's a complete gimmick, but it's better than anything the rest of trash tier offer and better than some of the B tier.
And lastly, Viewtiful Joe. I don't think his slowing super makes up for all of his other enourmous flaws. Bad priority, bad range, weak neutral. The only thing he has going for him is a decent combo game, and a good super, his low health pool and weak footsies make him pretty lack luster, even a good player with him could make better use out of a better combo heavy character like Vergil, Dante, Dr. Doom, Magneto, Zero, or even Shuma Gorath.
Also one last thing, Jill and Shuma never got their time to shine because they were DLC, but I'd wager if they came with the game, they would be much higher on tier lists, especially Shuma Gorath who I think is slept on pretty hard because his neutral is bad.

There's solid placings here and some of course are going to be obvious but I have a few discrepancies over it. As a Nova player I really think he's at best #10 in the top 10 but he's not anywhere like Magneto. Magneto can do everything Nova does but better and overall has more options. The only thing that Nova has better are arguably better supers and an incredibly strong j. H.
But there are other characters like MODOK who should be in Top 10. Theres enough proof of it despite there not being as many players. Wolverine and Spencer for example are really easy and good but I think neither of them should be in the S tier category. I feel like this list is very 2014 feeling as it lumps too many characters in the A tier spot which is why I believe there could have been more rows. Some of the characters in A should move down to B and vice versa imo but since it's the middle area it doesnt matter too too much but I think you're undermining Rocket, Chun and Deadpool and overrating Jill, Hawkeye and Haggar
I also think Thor and Iron Man are too low. I think Tron too but I can understand her being there. But some of those "Trash" characters are way more trash and not helpful on a team. Iron Man at least has good support value and arguably a better beam assist than even Doom so he could be bumped up one. Same for Thor and his setplay potential.

I mostly agree with this comment with the exception of hawkeye who I think deserves his placement on this list. Chun, I agree is very under-rated but that is due to mostly to how little people are exposed to her. Her potential is super high but the work that has to be put in for the results is just too daunting for a lot of people when they can get their W with easier to use characters.
Hey man nice list. I don't play UVMC3 a lot but still it was interesting. I'm more of a Tekken player. If you want season 3 changes are happening soon and more characters are going to be released. Maybe you want to wait on that until the second character gets released or you could do a casual to midlevel\online or a tournament level tier list.

I think his list is fine. Theres a reason why there are only 4 tiers and most characters can do some broken shit. In practice marvel 3 just has a lot of shit that can make tiers trivial. With x factor, infinites, etc. Plus if you have a couple of people that make characters work at a high level or in low/mid level play doesn't make them objectively good characters. Thor objectively has a bad kit, bad frame data, bad assists. All he has is high solo damage.

She already has Soul Drain in her kit and most installs don't let you gain meter on regular attacks. Also get rid of Vergil's level 3 hitting OTG cause he doesn't need it, he's already overloaded, and it looks stupid, like it shouldn't really hit.
Other than that, most characters just need some small changes, like more mobility, combo options, or increased priority to help their neutral game out.

Chris is amazing. Most underrated character in the game. What you said about Modok totally applies to Chris. How can you say he's trash, but Jill is not maxed out? She is incapable of a kill combo and can't do shit against projectiles. Nemesis is way better than hulk and haggar, and is extremely good at laming out every character in your top tier list. Also Wesker is A tier, thank you.

The ABSOLUTE worst thing about Morrigan is her gaining meter whilst having a super activated! Even super cheap ass Zero doesn't do that. I've always wondered if that was a glitch they missed.

Same reason why Netherealm Studios won't remaster mk9. Because they would have to completely rehual the online netcode in order for people to keep playing it. Otherwise it would be a waste of money for them to bring it back and with how much time and money that costs they might as well make a new game instead.

First UmvC3 gets support cutted off, than MvCI gets in trouble because it had insufficient budget (gameplay and character uniqueness were great) I dont know if it is end of MvC but i surely would play MvC4,5 and 6!

Two biggest surprises are that I expected Doom to be considered arguably the best character in the game. He does everything well, needs no resources, all three assists are top 10, has such easy hit confirmations, works with almost any team, and is used in so many successful teams.
The other is Viewtiful Joe, I've just hardly seen him work. You need to do so much to win with him, his normals are garbage, he does no damage, any high caliber player can get to him, and he's like Ryu where he can really only OTG super. I totally expected him to be considered a gimmick like Arthur.
Doom is like the jack of all trades but a master of none. Zero, Morrigan and Vergil are all considered the best because they have certain things that make them broken, while Doom has nothing that makes him seem broken.
VIewtilful Joe on the other hand is actually a good character, he just doesn't get picked a lot nowadays because he doesn't fit in the current meta. Joe is a really good zoner, can move around the screen very well to keep distance and has a great lvl 3 slow that can basically disable your character. The lvl 3 slow lasts for a very long time and people were able to come up with some great strategies revolving around it. Obviously there's no reason to pick Joe now because Morrigan is just much better at the zoning game than him, but he is still a great character.

Should put shuma in lower A tier. His neutral is bad but he has great normals and obviously insane damage. The only other issue with him is how difficult he is to combo with due to his charge inputs.
(Even with Angelic going crazy with him I feel like the character still has a lot more potential to be explored as he has one of the most versatile combo routes)
Verdict, to be ranked high a character must have some kind of ranged attack. Wolverine and Haggar are exceptions because their other positives outweigh this lack of theirs.
To sum up this post... Strider and Hulk have higher win potential in general than Dr Doom. Trish is not only good but is a counter to Morgan and annoys Dark Phoenix so she's a bit higher in S tier. Dr. Doom is the man, but he isn't A tier. Hulk is a lot better than you're explaining in this video and is probably scraping the bottom of S tier if not in it in general. Frank is lower tier. Captain America is simple and degrading but probably matched with Akuma and with how good he is when you aren't being biased. And Akuma is just not durable enough and is bumped down because countering him can become very simple, almost as simple as countering Jean Grey players who decide to ever call her in as an assist. The rest of the post is my reasoning.
Strider is a better overall character however Vajra Assist, OTG 1 bar super, Great in X-factor. Teleport kick overhead are the 3 reasons why it's better than doom. It can be argued that Doom foot-dive is better but it's not versatile it just lands for some reason and causing a hard knockdown with it is literally like the Doom Special. I've seen more mixups from Strider than confirms from foot-dive because you simply block or avoid it. It's Doom's "Oh Crap" button, not something he's really trying to go aggro with. That's doom's weakness, he really has a problem starting up combos except from grab, TAC, knockdown hard tag, or from foot-dive,
You faced Hulk... Hulk has cancels that are as annoying as Akuma's Shoryuken Super EXCEPT he's a big body character! In addition to that he has an invulnerable anti-air super with Gamma Crush. Seeing that KBR ran a tournament simply by forcing the grabs that you were talking about was not the full picture of what was happening it's just that against you he really focused on being the cheapest he could be aka cancels and command grab combos. This weird interplay with him probably should push him to S tier... even if it's low S tier. Also he has that rock super setup... Yeah definitely S tier just super low.
Doom is probably THE MAXIMUM A tier, meaning that if he had a way to start his combos without putting so much on the line that he would be S tier. The fact that Doom cannot make a combo with Dante Assist shows how weak his combo potential is outside of TAC, Knockdown hard tag, or Foot-dive/grab. But literally if you want to make your team better just take a character out and put doctor doom in. Like that Hulk Haggar Sentinel team? Take Sentinel out and put Doctor Doom in. Hidden missiles and Plasma Beam are so cheap! Dr Doom Level 3s body people and even worse is when people knock you down and tag into Doom for the OTG. Most any character can do that! So cheap! Doom doesn't start the combos, but he can certainly end your life!
About Chris... his neutral is definitely overshadowed by most people in higher tiers. But in that regard I think he's still better than Frank West. This is not to say that Chris isn't garbo, but I think that Frank is actually weaker than A tier with the exception of powering him up. Playing Frank as first in slot is a mistake, and playing him last in slot is a mistake. He's literally a middle slot character and his assist really isn't super great.
Captain America is a B tier but his combos are super simple, they hurt hard, and it's happy birthday confirmed central. He's a good first choice character with the real issue literally being that his shield doesn't full screen from the ground. [It can go pretty far in the air for some reason.] His shield picks up OTGs probably as good as Doctor Doom. If his assists were stronger he'd probably be in A tier honestly. Thing is, Captain is lame at master level. Like charging star combos make it feel your opponents feel like they wasted time in training mode. But seriously if Doom is Maximum A tier, Captain America is Maximum B tier. Even as Anchor X Factor, Cap can do a bit much.
Tier changes based on matchup.
Trish bump up: Trish gives Morgan a hard time because of her aerial game and traps. Her Trap assist is also respectable. This alone would bump her a significant distance up the A tier list.
Akuma bump down: Can be defeated while he is called in for assist even though his Tatsu-assist is so good, I would actually bump him down to B tier because there are so many ways to counter the assist call or render it pointless if people are truly respecting the other player. [Probably tied with Captain America]

Personally I'd put Nova, Joe, Haggar, Trish, Viper and Jill a little lower and put Ammy, Tron, Iron Man, Sentinel, Wesker, and X-23 a little higher, and put Spider-Man in mid A Tier, but overall good list.
