I had my first piano recital in this home, at age eight. Totally flubbed it and never played in front of an audience again, but, man, was the house exquisite. After the recital, we kids ran up to the tower, from where the daughter of the owner told us we could see Disneyland. We believed her. I can tell you, this refurbishing has taken nothing away from the original home and has made it even grander than it was. So wonderful to see an older home that hasn't been butchered or "Restoration Hardwared" into something ugly and insipid.
I was responsible for the construction of the basement reinforcements. The 4’ thick slab at the bottom. And the 33” pt slab tgat is the basement roof. It has 5 miles of Post tension. And over 45 tons of rebar in it. It really was a cool job. The money was well funded.!! I wish I could post pictures of the back yard as it was put together.
There is an abandoned Requa apartment building in Downtown San Diego, the last block before you get on the 94, I wish somebody would take that one on, I have not much hope for it.
What a beautiful home!❤
