This is ridiculous. By doing tricks I ended up in the last places anytime, but by just skating without even boosting I immediately get first and then beat Hunter on the first try. Something's definitely broken with this mini game. Thanks!
The whole skateboard minigame idea is broken considering how you've got to pull tricks off. Holding down Y to do tricks whilst removing your ability to control the actual direction of the board in a race with turns just feels incredibly stupid, like the developers didn't even playtest the minigame...

This never works in my game. You need to jump all those streams in that one section and if I jump early to clear the shorter double jump he stalls in mid air and lands in the stream. Like his jump is too delayed no matter how early I press the button
All this time and to think, all I could do is just skate regularly with timed jumps...not to mention this part is broken when Rynocs give you boost for running crabs over anyone notice that?

So his wife and his children laughing at him for making this dumpster fire is the last thing he see.s
I hated the Skateboarding as a kid, still do now. I can appreciate the tricks but I suck The only one I can land consistently without fail are the side rolls and front flips That is how I beat the par time for this course, at 1:43 using only front flips to gain meter. Awesome gameplay.
I pretty much had to do this when I played because of how bad the physics are. One of my favorite parts of the original trilogy ruined by glitches and bad physics.
I’ve tried at least 24 times and couldn’t get past 4th. And now I find out all I need to do is keep up with them?! I’ve tried that once and got 3rd but I’ll try what he did in the video. Check for a update. Cheers

This is honestly the most atrocious and tedious challenge in all of Spyro imo. The controls are pretty bad, and if you make one wrong move you're pretty much fucked and you won't win. And once you finally beat it, you have to race AGAIN but this time against Hunter and you have to kill all the crabs while doing so. And it doesn't help that you have to ride the skateboard to get the gems, and if you miss some you have to go another lap. Seriously fuck this challenge.

Given that you asked 2 weeks ago, I'm guessing you already figured that out, but I thought I'd add this for anyone else who might have the same question ^.^ And just to make sure I answer the correct question... he gets himself kidnapped.

@@kimberlyayers1479 as you enter the level, don't go left. swing round to the right,take out the two Rinoc ghosts and a couple of crabs and jump onto the cannon. Rotate until you see a wall with a big red X and shoot it. It'll reveal a tunnel with two crabs in it. Glide into it, take out the crabs and the Rhinoc ghost at the end then glide over to the small island with a crab in the corner. From there, you glide onto the sunken ship, take out another Rinoc ghost and jump into another cannon. Blast a hole in the side of the big ship and glide through that hole... you'll get the egg from the prospector and a "Return Home" portal. You can do some of the other challenges or just go through the portal. s you get to the home portals of each world, you'll unlock the rocket to take you to the next home world. use that and fight the next boss. When he's dead, Bianca will free Hunter and you can return to the skateboard race. You don't need to get 100% in each level to progress the game. (I might have played the game too much ^.^)
How do you initiate the race with Hunter, if you declined it the first time? All I have is Hunter riding around and no where to initiate this race.. Super annoying.

Every time I do a flip it makes me fly up in the air or go zooming to the side off a cliff rolls work okay tho
