I was a little worried that the ending would be too abrupt, but it's handled so well it only emphasizes the haunting tragedy of the resolution. I really loved the song at the end juxtaposed with the image of the Candy Mare, absolutely beautiful! Getting things ready for Christmas Eve, having this on in the background as I go about my preparations, it's a little surreal but no less magical. I'm a little sad it's over, but of course I know best of all that the story goes on. I sincerely hope everyone involved with this project and all of the viewers at home have a Merry Christmas (or a Scary Christmas if they prefer) and happy holidays.
This is definitely not the last of the Candy mare. And the Final Chapter being in there makes me believe that there will be more. PLEASE PLEASE LET THERE BE MORE!
@@Akainu299 I don't believe in horror stories having happy endings. Closest I like is the happy 'twist' ending, where it seems like everything is happy but then its a fake out and actually everything is miserable. The Candy Mare occasionally gets a pretty happy ending though, if you want to think of it that way.
Think they'll also read "Something Sweet to Bite Too"? I loved that sequel in high school.

Did not expect Sunset Shimmer I'm very quite suprised, Aside from that, this was well made from the Writing to the Voice Acting.
I'm a little disappointed I was actually hoping that this led to the story of how Luna defeated the candy mare for the first time but knowing that the candy mare took over Equestria after she killed off the Mane 6 is a more twisted and devious ending than I could have ever hoped for
The candy mare killed 4 of them applejack twilight rarity pinkie it was not revealed what happened to fluttershy but I guessed that she felt pain and her body started to go through a painfully transportation into a candy monster. but rainbow dash was never mentioned in something sweet to bite and I feel like the majority of pegasi could be alive in the clouds because they live there. I hoped the celestia and luna are alive and weren't killed by the candy mare but who knows I just hoped celestia and luna escape her and fled form equestria together but who knows. The candy mare sounds to OP like it was said when she killed lemon drop her kidnapper that same night a whole castles of unicorns disappeared and i just don't want to believe the candy mare took over the whole world like just imagine her taking over other creatures areas like Griffins changealings kirins hippogriff dragons or even the area of the storm kings form etc or even if she attack the crystal empire or broke in to tartarus because it sounds like the candy doesn't care for any living thing and would kill it and eat it like the the candy mare has existed when the pegasi unicorns and earth ponies were just tribes so shes been around before the founding of equestria which means she's been around before the sister alicorns and nothing stop her until the alicorn sisters saw private pansy transformation I just wonder if some creatures are immune to her candy if they eat it? I know I'm thinking to deep into this but I'm just obsessed with something sweet to bite like we need an animation or comic to it.
@@kevonmcmillan5656 Agreed! Shes a sadistic monster. And Technically Lemon Drop turned an innocent child into a pony cannibal. She has no remorse for what she even does. Hell shes killed and eaten children. She even killed Flurry Heart a damn baby for godsakes. Discord was the only one who could potentially stop her and she knows this because she knocked over his statue and broke him to pieces. Granted I dont think that can even hurt him as the writers confirmed hes immortal in canon. But he can be stopped or frozen into a statue again. I think she managed to get his powers to if Im not mistaken. As if she wasnt horrifying enough neither.
I read something sweet to bite too and it tells us what happened to rainbow dash and fluttershy. Its a really great sequel hardly even feels like one with how great its written, like all of these stories you can find it on fimfiction if you don't have time to read it just let me know and I can give you a quick summary, but I do think you should give it a read sometime this year.
( forgot to mention that the candy mare is definitely too over powered in the sequel )

@@T_E_G in all honesty I have a difficult time taking this series seriously, it's like 682 from the SCP fandom. Stupidly overpowered for absolutely no reason. Scp-682 is literally so overpowered he can affect the way the story is written to make him win. Plus I find a villain that never loses extremely uninteresting especially if all they care about is kill kill kill oh, it gets a little boring

In the sequel candy mare is slowly killing off the entire pony world and plans on traveling to other dimensions by using twilights magic mirror so she can kill everyone again and again, she's using rainbow dash as a disguise to trick the main 6 from other dimensions until the 3rd story where she runs into a sunset shimmer who has nightmares about her and finds out about the candy mare and dose everything she can to stop her, a bunch of more stuff happens sci-twi nukes a town, pony fluttershys alive, human starlight starts a candy cult, more worlds are destroyed and eventually the candy mare was put into limbo and sent to hell where she was re-united with her maker and takes over heaven
(It makes more sense when you read all seven stories)

U aren't meant to feel sympathy for her she's literal evil I honestly felt bad for her mom the candy mares story of how she came to be is tragic but her mom had the worse fate being trapped, kept prisoner by her own daughter refusing to let go of the hope of finding her real one one this monster murders kids lured to the house like lambs to the slaughter and force fed to her. Just to find out this all started with her daughter being forced to eat her husband before psychotically returning home and making it a personal hell for her before ironically enough her finally being freed by the news of what really happened to her family being literally to much

Emogak had this stories beginning ("something sweet to bite") 6 years ago and it finally came to a close here 6 years later. this world starlight saw was just 2 months after the events in "something sweet to bite". Thank you deeply for this amazing finish to a story i really enjoyed.

But in regards to the apparent Planet ego/candymare i'd recommend a full orbital bombardment or just destroy it.

The way I cope with grimdark Fanfictions is I pretend every fanfic ever written and the TV show, comic books, and even Pony life are in their own separate universes in a large Multiverse like Marvel. Heck Marvel had some pretty dark universes, Old Man Logan and Marvel Zombies to name a few. Take solace in the fact that in that Multiverse there are grimdark Tales like this one but there will always be heartwarming Tales. After all the Multiverse is full of infinite possibilities.
This is the Something Sweet to Bite series take. Multiverse theory comes up pretty early on.
@@mephistoknackerman1406 so there would be a universe where the candy mare was defeated? If we're taking Multiverse Theory into consideration. Perhaps there's a universe where they exploited candies weakness, if I'm not mistaken doesn't candy melt when it comes into contact with heat? Well at least most candies do. I do so enjoy speculating on Multiverse Theory and all the different possibilities that every single fanfiction can create or bring up.
Also at the end when it said Equestria was dead, I want to know how the candy mare disposed of Chrysalis, Discord, King Sombra or any of the prisoners of Tartarus. Especially King Sombra considering he is literally a shadow, how do you eat a shadow?
@@princeartemis440 It's more that there are a lot of universes where the Candy Mare never came to exist at all. While Candy Mare can melt, it's been covered in another story that she just comes back as a gelatinous blob-like creature of liquid candy, just as ravenous, and better able to shape shift in that form.
@@princeartemis440 That was covered in the sequels. Chrysalis was actually killed by Fluttershy, if you can believe it (long story). Discord's statue was smashed. King Sombra was never a factor since he just continued haunting the frozen north and the Crystal Empire never returned in that universe. Tirek and all the prisoners in Tartarus were turned into candy ghouls.
I would love it if you could do the other entries of this series the art and narrative are just really good

The one who written the story is a very good writer for these type of stories and thanks for writing the story in the first place Mephisto Knackerman. The ending of this story is great because it leads in to the 3rd sequel, which I'm about to read after this. But the only thing is that it's even better if you've read Something Sweet to Bite Too. Then you get the full brunt of the implications the ending shows. I hope a reading of Something Sweet to Bite Too is done one day. But for now, this has been an amazing reading! @@TotalFreakZoid yeah the voice actors/actresses as well as the artists that make the artwork deserve alot of credit to make those stories come alive and so does the authors of the diffrent stories

I really wish the ending wasn't so sudden and final. I wanted to see how the remaining characters would defeat the Candymare, or how the Candymare defeated everyone as an opposite option. Everyone did great, don't get me wrong, it just felt horribly rushed at the end story-wise.

I am so upset I missed this one. Seven hours later I'm holding my head dissapointed I missed the release of this one. But even then. I am super excited to finish this one off. I really do wonder how it ends .
Sunset being the unfortunate hextian brings up the question of what would happen to both the other villains they have to deal with this ,and the other kingdoms that would eventually cross paths with this issue that will spread Beyond Equestria?! ...Actually King Sombra, the Storm King, and the Dragons Lands United can actually overcome this invasion: King Sombra's dark magic, crystal magic, and intangibility is the perfect counter against the Candy Mare, while the dragons can increase the temperature of the Flames to be able to incinerate the puppet Army as well as this cursed candy; and with the Storm King's Army fortifying the surrounding borders so they can quarantine this curse from spreading to the other kingdoms.
