  • I've seen videos of electric dryers made into shop heaters but they always seem to look like a small dryer. In this build I'm going to make a shop heater out of a dryer but try to make it look like a heater. If you have any questions about the build please ask in the comment section of this video. Thanks for watching. :)

    What we saw here is brains, ingenuity, and tools come together for a really neat and useful item. Why the heck doesn't he have couple 100k subs?

    • @KoalityofLife

      These things take time. I cant afford to advertise my channel so word of mouth and shared videos is how people learn about my channel. I'm not worried, the inspiration I put on UA-cam will always be here no matter how many subs I have. Thanks for watching. :)

      Because it's not usless and meaningless garbage entertainment. UA-cam and brainwashed people don't like learning useful skills. Maybe if he gives away a million dryer heaters to people at Walmart he'd have 10 million subs lol.

      @@KoalityofLifeyou think you could rewire a gas dryer the same way??

    • @KoalityofLife
      @KoalityofLife  8 місяців тому +1

      @@alexwcobb You can't use a gas dryer in this way because the heat from the gas dryer needs to be exhausted outside. The heat contains carbon monoxide from the burning of the gas. Hope this helps. :)

      @@KoalityofLifesure you can it's not going to be any different than any other non-vented propane heater

    How bout this: Build a filter box to stick on the end of the ducting that lets the hot air blow into the garage after it's been filtered WHILE DRYING YOUR LAUNDRY? 😮TA-DA!

    • @KoalityofLife
      @KoalityofLife  7 місяців тому

      I have seen videos using electric dryers to heat their garage or house, where ever their dryer happens to be. All you need is (like you said) a box to filter out that last bit of lint that makes it past the lint trap and then the hot air from the dryer can be used to heat. Thanks for watching. :)

      I would make a bunch of them if I could find free or cheap electric dryers around but I live out in the sticks and there's not a lot around. Thanks for watching. :)

    Tell me how much electricity is that going to use

    • @KoalityofLife
      @KoalityofLife  10 місяців тому +1

      It may not be the most efficient way to heat but it's not as expensive as you might think. Like running a dryer without the motor being bogged down by a heavy load of wet clothes. Thanks for watching. :)

    Can i get a wiring diagram

    • @KoalityofLife
      @KoalityofLife  5 місяців тому

      I wish I could put up a universal diagram but I'm sure dryers are all a little different. If you follow the flow of power you should be able to get it going. Thanks for watching. :)

    I notice it looks like a newer dryer. I guess they just don't build dryers to last long anymore.

    • @KoalityofLife
      @KoalityofLife  9 місяців тому

      I have no idea how old the dryer was. I got it for free off market place just for this project, but I can agree with you on the fact that they don't build stuff to last anymore. Thanks for watching. :)

    aww man i was sure you were going to get a couple $ in coins :) as for the heating element and its on cycle being longer, maybe a burn out maybe not something to consider. and finally mad props on that thin sheet metal welding :)

      I was kinda disappointed about the lack of loose change in the dryer, maybe more of that falls out in the washer. Thanks for watching.
