    At first I was like, "Aw they're singing for some charity.."
    but as soon as I hit "CC", I was like..
    "WTF? This is about road signs."
    Oh Norway.

    This is the second best video on youtube! Norwegian people seem to have a great sense of humor, I mean, I don't know any other country where all the celebrities would come together and sing with so much enthusiasm about a sign for an island

      It's a joke about "kjöre", which is the norwegian verb for driving. A lot of verbs are really similar between norwegian and german, and so you only need to add the "n" for a norwegian verb to become a german one. It's a common mistake with Norwegians speaking german when they use those verbs where this does not work, such as "kjöre".

    • @JohannaMueller57
      @JohannaMueller57 9 років тому

      Sperber Ok, first, thank's for clearing it up. Well, at least a bit, it still doesn't make really sense, at least to me. First of all: he sings "hören" (to listen, if you're not a german bird ;)), subtitles say "kören". So, is it just a typo in the subtitles and should really spell "kjören"? But then it still doesn't make sense, as you said, you only wanted to add an "n" and he still sings something totally different. Or is "kj" pronounced as an H? Please tidy things up for me. :)

    • @SparrowhawkSilver
      @SparrowhawkSilver 9 років тому

      JohannaMueller57 Man hört ja, wie er im grunde "Chören" singt, das kj klingt in dem Fall sehr wie ein H oder CH. Die Untertitel sind soweit ich weiß wirklich einfach nicht ganz richtig an der Stelle.

The German tourist sings KJØREN. A very Ylvish-joke, where they often intentionally put a Norwenglish or in this case norgerman word in for humourous effect.

  • @basixrox

    About that german part: What should "kören" mean? The word itself does exist (as I learned from duden.de), but does not have anything to do with driving. The word the guy sings is "hören" which translates to the verb "to hear". And finally the english subtitle says "drive". How could that happen?

    • @solveigrimenfosse8269
      @solveigrimenfosse8269 2 роки тому +1

      Eight years later... It is a typical Ylvis joke. Norwegians think they can speak German just by adding "EN" at the end of Norwegian verbs. The Norwegian word for "drive" is "kjøre", so "kjøren" is what Norwegians think "to drive" is in German. It's not.

    so.. from a german to a norwegian.. i totally gotta agree, u guys need more signs. we are unable to find touristtraps and even if we find them - we can't find the way back :O it's hilarious. however - your german tourist kinda bugged me. it's not only his pretty decent english-language tongue it's way more the fact that he can't HEAR anything whereever he just has to SEE where to go.

    They are singing a typical song used to bring in money for charity (we are the world is a perfect example of a properly used one). It includes various famous Norwegian artists, lyrics+++... as is the norm. ... about lacking signs on an island in Norway and asking for money for it (though meant humorous...). In essence that its hard to find your way in my country due to lacking signs++ (... and its very true - depending on where one are and what one are looking for).

  • @diskreEntre
    @diskreEntre 11 років тому

    They probably translated it that way for norwegian people who dont speak german. I dont speak german but when i saw "Ich weiss nicht wohin ich kören kann" I immediately understood that he said "Jeg vet ikke hvorhen jeg kan kjøre" which means "I dont know where i can drive". If they used the word "fahren" i wouldnt understand what he was saying because "fahren" doesnt sound close to "kjøre"
