Once you reach international level, in both of these players' case was quite expeditious, bowlers with wealth of experience, analytical experts, minute scrutiny by opposition, flaws are tracked & worked upon. Hence, handling short ball as well as shuffle across the crease more than required against genuine fast bowlers went against Kambli. Further, worldly attractions also hindered his focus from cricket, which at young age is not so abnormal. Sachin's batting was technically more perfect & guidance of protective family, atmosphere, surroundings, society around him also helped him to focus on the job. With due respect to all kambli's friends, it's my assessment.
Yes I do agree with your points but you have to give him the chance as his average is not bad either...while seeing Steven Smith any one say that he is not technically an effective batsman but his score suggests either way. So vinod should have given chances in tough conditions
agreed kambli was not as perfect as he's projected and he failed to work on his weaknesses and diverted to party, alcohol etc. Even after released from Indian team, he could have make a decent carrer in coaching, commentry, cricket management, unpiring etc lot of area. or the money he already have he could have just open a restaurant business. but he fail there too and keep on blaming each and everyone for everything. Vinod also fails to understand he's not as part of Sachins life as he thinks to be. Sachin had a long career and he palyed with and against a lot of average to great players, Sachin must have made a lot of friends. Lots like kamble came and went from Sachins life. He did not work hard on his weaknesses. He was vulnerable to the bouncing ball. He did not have good work ethics. He got success early but could not manage it. His behavior was unprofessional. Bad attitude. Used to have late night party before match. Used to drink a lot and had to be pulled and taken back to hotel room a day before the match.
