    I’m running the same set of headers and have the exact same set of motor mounts. Mounts make a huge difference on the header installation. I did have to grind the sharp 90 degree corners of my K-member because Header pipe was hitting. BBK had stayed competitive on their pricing. I paid $600.00 for my set about 10 years ago. I also used SBC header studs. $5.00 new at the swap meet. Car sounds awesome!

    Looks like you got some really good gains out of them, I tried to blow up the graph to see how much it picked up but u kept the numbers out of sight perfectly 😅 but that thing is going to respond really well to mods that will help it breathe like, headers, big cam, big 220 ported out heads, and a heavily ported out intake , and you're heading to 500hp easy which I know you already know I just can't wait to see what all you're going to do to it , interesting stuff

    I didn’t pay attention to the combo on my original guess. Those LT headers should be good for 10-20hp, but they should also provide a little more low-mid range torque. It’s already a torque monster. I think the cam is holding it back N/A. But it will still be a runner.

    @Neomustangs- I know this is a budget build, and its really good so far, and the next dyno session, is only going to get better. But i was wondering, i seen that this engine peaks Hp @ a Low rpm, i think the Anderson-B31 cam is too small. What do you think about a combo im wanting to build= a NA. (427 to 433cu. In.) SBF stroker, with around 12 to 1 comp.(using gas-port pistons, with ultra low tension rings), with a Trick flow stage 5 Roller cam, Trick Flow 205cc (11R) Alum. Cyl. Heads, Big-Dogs stage 2 fully ported(upper, Lower, spacer, and ported 90mm Tb) Trick Flow Box R intake, Anderson 4inch power pipe, Big-Dogs High Flow stainless steel headers(700cfm), and Big-Dogs 3" High Flow stainless steel mufflers(700cfm), with evacuation kit from valve covers, to headers. I was hoping to peak Hp around (6,300 to 6,500 Rpm), and Tq around (4,300 to 4,500Rpm). You think this engine combo has a shot @ 500 Wheel Hp, with a manual trans.!? Thanks, and Great video.

    those small shorties might be an excuse for a turbo stock displacement 351W car or a 351W headed 302 build...if there's some Fox just lyin' around holding down the floor in the neighborhood...not that we should ever buy another affordable project car just to use up one part we have. who would ever do such a thing, right? :)
    I do recommend on header installs to do the hard one first. It sucks the will to live out of you, but if you find you need to lift the engine up off the mounts to get some space, you won't have to pull a great header install on the other side to do it. and having the easy install for last is like getting dessert after brussel sprouts :)

      @@NeomustangsFlowmaster had a collector that turns a 4-into-1 header into a Tri Y setup. I think the part number is C200250350. It can add low or high RPM power depending on how you weld it on.

      @@alertgasper yep. We have a whole video/setup video talking about scavenging and continuing to progress more N/A power out of this combo

    • @alertgasper
      @alertgasper 6 місяців тому

      @@Neomustangs i missed that video, so i'm probably just repeating something you already covered, but i remember an old David Vizard article in Popular Hot Rodding magazine suggesting a superior exhaust design that cleared out the combustion chamber could mimic a low boost turbo as far as the volumetric efficiency is concerned, while not having the boost penalty of needing higher octane. A cold air induction package would likely also contribute to higher VE rates on such an engine (whereas boost typically heats the air charge requiring some intercooler or aftercooler). This might allow for a smaller camshaft pattern to be used or boost might be used to generate a higher compression ratio for those running E85.
      long tube headers might make turbo location an issue unless one goes with the rear-bumper setup, and an exhaust system evacuating at low engine RPM better might just spool such a turbo setup sooner (probably needs the entire exhaust system before it to get wrapped or heat coated to really pay that off). anyway, just spitballin'.

    I hope when you go to the dyno you only changed the headers...because if you change the intake tube and throttle body you screwed up your data. And I want to know as I have a 393 with done up "170's" with the 1 5/8" shorties but have a 3" exhaust but putting in a 6r80 and have to figure the headers out.
