The vials have never gone through PBMs. They’ve only ever been cash pay, no insurance. The only thing unique about this seems to be that Ro has some sort of direct connection to LD CashPay that is slightly different than your doctor’s office.
@jenf836 I would say lower the viles to at least 200.00 dollars. I currently pay 549.00 dollars through Eli Direct for 5mg. Since my damn blue cross blue shield want cover it all.
No wonder this country is the laughingstock of the world. The wrong people are in charge. Lord have mercy, one CEO has already met with an unfortunate and untimely death. There a some people in this world that have no shame or empathy for greedy politicians and corporations. We deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.❤
By eliminating PBM‘s lilies, potential profit origin goes way up. So, they have the ability to lower prices on a direct model and maintain the same very high profit margins. They need monthly vials In all doses. Not single use vials. Pricing competitive with compounding are needed v
This is what I suggested in the comments in yesterday’s video-that lily should couple with compound pharmacies. But not like this!! I was hoping they would do this and cut the prices. Hopefully, that’s next. I think the 2.5mg should be priced between $99 and $150.
CD: They are not actually working with compounding pharmacies, they are working with the telehealth provider who writes a prescription to Lilly direct. Lilly still manufactures all product and controls the pricing
Excellent report and very well said. I have been using EL direct vials and I am concerned I will not be able to afford to advance into the 7.5 or higher doses. My hope and prayer is that they will act in good faith.
I would say they are only looking at profits. Only offering 5.0 Zepbound as the highest dose shows they don't want anyone to get their hands on a 15mg dose where it could be used for months instead of only one month. As long as the price of the meds in other countries are so much lower than the US also shows they are only looking at profits, not patients. Is E. Lily going to "collaborate" with all of the telehealth companies so they can gain control of how tirzepatide is obtained? I think it is shameful and their strategy could end up backfiring on them. Had brand loyalty for a year until the shortage started (ended? Ha!). Was tired of paying $1149 a month and not knowing if I could get the medication. I switched to compounded tirzepatide and have been very happy with the price and the results.
Eli Lilly can control dosing by calling the patients pharmacy, doctor or just do like the Telehealth companies do if they’re afraid of everyone wanting to buy the highest dose. It’s all crazy anyways it should just be one vile. Let people start out at the dose they want since they are upping it so quickly, Microdosing. Not following directions about the injection sites pretty much doing whatever the hell they wanna do anyways. Lol
I'm on my first week of Zepbound Vials. We're on Medicare so this is out of pocket for me so I had to take the cheapest option. The price will have to come down. We're just on the edge of this. There are many others who will want to jump on and invest in GLP-1's. With competition comes better prices. I'm hoping so hard that the government will cover this preventative medication as soon as possible. I can't afford this - but can't afford not to.
EL missed its sales expectations last quarter...this move with RO will increase sales. My guess is that EL nets more on the single dose vials vs the pens because PBMs are not in the single use vial chain.
I hope that Lilly hears this. If they lower their prices they will totally make more since they will sell more. They also could lower their costs by putting 4 doses per file like the compounders. Man, I apparently am not paid enough for my job since I could up their profits without hurting the public at large.....Lilly call me! LOL!
The quote is "Offering Zepbound single-dose vials - the most affordable branded incretin medicine by list price - through another platform to LillyDirect will help ensure broader availability of rigorously tested, FDA-approved and regulated obesity treatment,” said Patrik Jonsson, executive vice president and president of Lilly Cardiometabolic Health that is why i said he is throwing shade at compounding. he does not count compounded in "rigorously tested, FDA-approved and regulated "
Until theres more competition prices will remain high unless USG intervenes like they did for insulin. Also FDA should continue allow compounding to continue filling prescriptions. It forces big Pharmas hand on pricing. With Kennedy going in as the new Health Secy I’m concerned he won’t get lower pricing on obesity drugs, he seems to think it’s just diet and exercise, especially the processed food
Do you really think that Lilly lowering prices would build brand loyalty? I don't. I doubt Lilly would think this way. As you yourself said, if another company comes along with a similar product at a lower price, patients will go for that. There is no loyalty for pharmaceuticals. That is why the only way to get them to lower prices is to force them. That is the only way. They will not act in the public interest.
I think they should be managing it as a brand and work toward loyalty - price is certainly a lever they can use. I do however think it more likely they lower price when there production ramps up to capture the market as quickly as possible. They could grow prescriber base incrementally and if they don’t someone else will
Seems to me once you get to five and they don’t offer 7.5 customers will look elsewhere . I pray their prices come down. Profit for pharma and insurance co must be regulated
Weight Watchers telehealth like any physician can send a prescription to Lilly Direct or any pharmacy. The difference with RO , is they are connecting their systems to Lillys and Lilly made a big announcement
This video is about the branded Zepbound vials so there is a fixed cost from Eli lLily. Zepbound is available in 2.5 mg/0.5mL and 5.0mg/0.5mL doses in a single-dose vial 4 count package for a direct to patient price of $399 and $549 respectively
I definitely believe that will wonderful if Eli Lilly decreases the price of various aspects because unfortunately is unrealistic for the majority of people .
Dr Tyna says microdosing is not meant for obesity. She does say if you find a dose that works, stay there as long as it works. But she used microdosing in her practice for other issues like insulin resistance, sleep apnea, etc.
CD: there will certainly always be people who complain - but it is possible to have most people be pleasantly unpaused. It’s how I felt about my blood pressure medecine for years. It was necessary, it worked and it was a reasonable cost for the benefit
The vials have never gone through PBMs. They’ve only ever been cash pay, no insurance. The only thing unique about this seems to be that Ro has some sort of direct connection to LD CashPay that is slightly different than your doctor’s office.
Thats correct we have covered that extensively.
Eloquently delivered Christopher! Let’s hope they can hear this!❤
I really appreciate your support! It means a lot to know that my message resonates with viewers like you.
Thank you for addressing this head on
Facts Eli Lilly needs to lower their prices.
Why? Its their product
Lower to what?

@@rodney3787*vials. The price is vile though. 😅
@@jenf836 hello cold wet towel. I see you are stills trolling. 😂

Thank you for the update. Interesting for sure
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this excellent coverage!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great report Chris ❤
Thanks
Profits over people….it’s disgusting

I would be happy to see prices comparable to the rest of the world!
LD: me too girl
Thanks for this, great reporting and I hope Eli Lilly lowers their prices.
Thanks!

Eli Lilly is using Ro to chokehold...er, *address* the compounded tirzepitide issue.
CD. The expanded distribution of ZepBound is the key here
Wow! This is such a plot twist. I’ll be curious to see what Dave has to say as he is working with Ro. 🤔
He posted on it this morning
doesn't surprise me. never been a fan of Dave or RO. Makes sense they would get cozy with big Pharma. 🙄

CD: great minds think alike - I do believe I said that in the video
There's always a catch...
Another example of big pharma and profits
It doesn't help me as I can not afford the single viles I'd also have to go down to a starting dose
Thank you for the video ! 💊💉
Our pleasure!

didn't I hear tirz could be gotten for 199.00 a month and a 79 dollar dr fee or some such price. Why would lilly say they are cheaper

That is a valid concern - he’s a wild card and completely unexperienced with managing organizations and policies like this

Is Lilly saying how much Zepbound will cost getting it through Ro?
Yes it’s in the video same price as Lilly direct
Well noone has said if Ro will have a charge added also.@thedownsized
CD: Ro has a membership fee I think it’s 100+ a month. The write the script to Lillydirect and it’s the Lilly direct price
The whole industry is shaken by Luigi
Weight watchers sequence has been doing this for the past 2 months.
CD: Eli Lilly launched Zepbound vials on August 27, 2024.

More research needs to be done with micro-dosing and then a vial could last a very long time!!

NO lifetime med should cost 300 or more a month…. Corporate GREED
Stating the obvious
Sometimes it needs to be said
