Poor Kurt, stitched up with an entry for Motorvation 37. You gotta feel sorry for the bloke. But what better way to give him a kick in the arse to make some progress and start on the jobs he's been putting off for a long time!
Now its time to get cracking on the roof repair. First thing's first; Patch the hole, smooth it out, and get it in primer... Wish us luck!

I reckon it must be time the VR VS made a resurgence in popularity. They were big 20 years ago, but tailed off when the VE arrived. Can’t remember the last time I seen one featured in Street Machine 😮
Vr vs have certainly gained popularity in the last few years. Theres some crazy builds that have come out based mainly off hsv and ss variants. It's great to see!
while the roofs bare metal I'd recommend washing the roof with deoxitine then neutralising the deoxitine with warm water. blow it off quickly it will go a rainbow color. deoxitine neutralises rust. the rust in the pits should be removed by sand blasting or wire wheel before epoxy priming. you can leave the panel in deoxitine for a while if covered up with warm blankets etc. good luck mate you doing a good job.
Thanks so much for the advice mate. I wish i knew earlier as I now realise I have buggered the rust removal process when I left the black spots after using the deoxidiser acid wash. The whole car needs panel and paint so the roof will get done again properly then. Some things are best learnt the hard way unfortunately. Haha. Thanks again for the solid advice!
@@TorqHub no worries mate any time I myself learnt the hard way, once you understand the process it becomes alot more easier, also the deoxitine will neutralise the paint stripper as well if paint stripper isn't neutralised it will continue to slowly lift the paint. good luck
Not looking forward to doing all this shit myself in the coming months. Be looking at the comments waiting for the experts to tell you what you did wrong so I know to make all the same ‘mistakes’ as well 😂
Yeah it's not the greatest task to take on in a fabrication based shed honestly. I already realise I'll have to re do this roof at a later date( rust removal process wasnt adequate) but it will suffice for now. Thanks for watching dude, appreciate the support!!
The start of the vid boy I have the same hat and shirt as Kurt. That's a killer effort for under the pump. I love that I'm not the only one that has to do 6 bunnings runs in one day when I have "everything I need" Motivation is a firm incentive to get her back in one color and parked up. Hope you boys had a great new year and heres to many more vids. 🍺
Scotty Watson! How are ya legend!
Yeah we're slowly chipping away at it. Will be glad to get this part over and done with though, for now. Shed certainly isn't set up for these shenanigans! Hope that project of yours is coming along too mate!
good effort guys keep onto it and keep making progress, every little bit counts!
That's it Tim! The hardest part about making progress for me is just getting started. We're slowly chipping away at it and learning as we go. Good practice for when it gets done again as a complete panel and paint job at a later date! Cheers Tim!
Your nailing it will come up great - reminds me of doing my XA in the garage in winter in the UK, what could of wrong did !! Once rubbed back it's going to look great...love the car ...
Loving your video's and best of luck guys.
Cheers Yoda!
Mate nice work, loving it. And you accomplished one of my life goals and thats to find a misso whole will join in on my projects, but im dreaming bro bloody dreamin 😂🤣
Thanks mate!! It's not a common thing but she does help out whenever I'm in need. I'm a lucky man indeed!! Thanks for watching dude!!
Looking forward to seeing this finished
Thanks mate! It won't be "finished" for a long while yet, are they ever? But getting some glass glued in is another step to full time duties back on the street, we can't wait!!
Another great video
Thanks for watching John!!
Great job
Cheers BIAS!!
Love the Vr Vs vids👌 looking good.
Cheers Nic!! Do you still have the maloo? Would be killer to see it in action one day mate!!
Yea mate still got the maloo, it’s just stared getting some love again😎. It needs the treatment you are giving yours 😂. Keep it up fella love the vids 👍.
Awesome mate. Cheers👍
I don't know shit about painting, but it looks good to me.
There is only one way to learn, unfortunately. And learning to paint is a time consuming exercise.
Can't wait to see this finished off.
That's makes 2 of us mate!. It's a tedious task but one that is allowing me to gain some knowledge, and Progress is progress! No matter how rough it is haha. Cheers Matty!
Really cool looking a better already ,also someone had a wee trim around the ears
Thanks Damian!!
Was wondering when the vid of you guys striping was gonna drop after I saw it on Facebook 😉😂
I was so impressed with that task at that stage you can tell! Haha
Almost at this point myself mate The VQ is getting there haha not looking forward to it lol
Starting 2023 off strong with the title to content click bait ratio 😅. Good work lads
Is there any event in Victoria you wanting to go too ?? Would love to be able to come see and meet in person one day 🤘🏻
Mate we're real keen to get back to Heathcote for the Holden Nationals at some point. We came over for the very first one, and had a blast! Also want to do Drag challenge one day, but let's focus on just getting a car finished first 😅
@@TorqHub I’m going to try and go to drag week this year, maybe one day soon we can pencil some in. Another great video been loving watching this build 👌🏼
Go the German shepherd king
thay are the best with their owners
why did the cops drill a hole in it?
To route power for lights and sirens. This is an ex pursuit vehicle.
What local guys you using for windscreen work. Pm me if you like. I have front and rear glass to go back in.
Great work guys, keep it up.
Kurt ended up buying a Toledo windscreen tool and removed it ourselves. Then realised when it was out the camera wasn't recording 😅
@rod miles, I’ve used Westside windscreen in the past, a1 service 👍
I'm confused, what's the hole from?
Might be confusing for those who haven't followed along, haha. This is an ex-NSW Highway patrol BT1, that hole was for the roof lights and sirens.
@@TorqHub ahhh makes sense
🍺👏👍🏻
Cheers Tim!!
P r o m o S M 🎶
Great content lads 👌🍻
Thanks Matt
